A Personal Request - Standing Strong Together: Support the Hartmann Report If You Can...
Your support makes a difference!
Just a quick note here — as we’re watching Trump and his billionaire buddies rip our nation’s institutions apart — to thank you for subscribing to my daily writings. They’ve always been free, and will continue to be, although our monthly Zoom meeting, daily podcasts and songs, and the entirety of the Saturday Report and Sunday Book Excerpt are only fully available to paid subscribers.
If you’re finding value in my daily writings, Louise and I would sure appreciate it if you’d consider upgrading to a paid account. There are a few benefits — but the main one is knowing you’re supporting us in this challenging and increasingly dangerous/difficult work.
I just unlocked last Friday’s Daily Song so you can check out the work that Louise does every day, writing and producing a song to match my Daily Take editorial. Just click on this link to listen to it and read the lyrics. All of them are over at the Daily Song tab on Hartmann Report, normally only available to paid subscribers.
Additionally, only paid subscribers can comment on articles. This is a normal convention across Substack, because paid subscribers have authenticated their existence as real humans (as opposed to Russian or billionaire-funded bots) by giving Substack their credit card info. It keeps the feed clean and lets us easily identify and filter out trolls.
I hope you’ll consider becoming a paid subscriber and thus support our work. Members of Congress, members of the media, and people from all over the world are regular readers: Just this past month we’ve received more than 4 million views from all 50 states and 169 other countries.
And we’re seeing an impact: it’s frankly surprising to me how often my Daily Takes are echoed by network commentators and other writers; it seems to happen almost every day. Imitation, they say, is the most sincere form of flattery and I’m always delighted when my memes — even unattributed — go viral.
Every day sees more and more newsletters on the Substack platform; I’m starting to dial back on the ones that don’t really speak to me, while converting my free subscriptions to paid to help support the writers who I find truly substantive. I’m guessing you’re doing the same: I hope Hartmann Report is on your “upgrade” list!
Thanks again for subscribing and reading my work, and for giving this humble request your thoughtful consideration. Together, we’ll get through these dark Trump days!
Warm regards,
Thom
PS. If you’re truly unable to afford $8 a month, drop a note to our partner and tech support guy, Nigel Peacock, at webmaster@thomhartmann.com and we’ll comp you for a year’s paid subscription.
