This is almost exactly what Sotomayor's dissent in Trump v. United States warned about last year. WOW. The Court didn't just fail to stop THIS, people. SCOTUS built the legal cover for it. "Presumptive immunity for official acts" is one of those just enough that it turns "agents assaulting protestors and force-feeding hunger strikers"
into
"the president directing federal enforcement. " And once nobody above him has to answer for the difference, then any real distinction stops mattering LEGALLY.
The uniforms and the tech are new but the new part that scares me is that six justices spent a term last year making sure there's no legal floor left underneath it... We need to look at the Supreme Court discussion if they were different lens so it doesn't create more of the partisan problems. We don't want them to lean either way... Their entire purpose is to make sure that things are not politicized and that is essential to any working functioning democracy. We need to start spreading the word on how it got there... Believe it or not it's, there's a strategic way to do it that will get bipartisan support from the citizenry and the post on how to get there is worth reading next to this one: https://uncomfortable.rxansmithmedia.com/p/nine-robes-no-shame-the-united-states
Yes, that is the consequence of the Roberts Court decision. Notice how Roberts apologizes for what he wrote - it's in my post on Trump v. United States
This is the administration that has managed to fuse psychotic and despotic into a single pathologically perverse juggernaut of terror. Like a hurricane, ICE spawns tornadoes of independently acting impostors, who recognize a criminal opportunity when they see one. What is the DOJ doing? Persecuting anyone who has tried to bring Trump to justice. We are living in the Joker's universe.
Well, Thom, I’m inspired to write to my congress person , and possibly others, but don’t know the best approach, so I wonder if your readers would like to comment (or add or detract - or condemn) what I’ve written. Here goes:
"As you well know, indeed, as everyone knows - but no one seems to give a damn - President Donald Trump has withdrawn pre-allocated funds from states that did not vote for him. A child could see that this is biased and 100% political. It is also illegal, unconstitutional, immoral, unethical, and no president (of either party) could ever have gotten away with it - or would have had the gall to even try (Of course, no other president had the Supreme Court and Republican Congress in his back pocket.)
I write, hoping that you have the courage and the integrity to raise your voice in Congress and criticize this action (and Congress’ acceptance of it) in no uncertain terms. I’ll be watching and listening, and not expecting a form letter back explaining why you couldn’t take action. "
So the Commie Reich On The Potomac has followed Moscow's orders and reduced all races, colors, and creeds to what the Constitution encoded as slaves, i.e., "Other Persons."
Hence, with extrajudicial impunity, they can shoot a White Minneapolis mother once in the head, twice in the chest, and once in the forearm. Or a defenseless Veterans Administration [also White] ICU nurse three times in the back, once in the neck, another in the chest "while he is held down" in the street.
The Gov't then plays a game of hide-the-salami with their killer dicks, I mean "agents."
So now we're all 3/5 of a person... Wow. Wait till I tell Mom.
#VOTE your way outta this insanity. #Send Eric to Iraq
Putin’s puppet and his band of depraved oligarchs, along with a corps of gullible fools, are destroying America at an accelerating pace. Schumercrats and his entrenched corporate pals are assisting the GOP (Grifters Oligarchs Predators) by undermining anyone to their left with propaganda, outright lies, false equivalencies, while begging for donations to underwrite their warped efforts and campaigning with AIPAC-supporting hypocrites. We need Democrats who elevate supporting and defending democracy over limiting entrance into their tidy, shriveling club.
We currently have two military forces running simultaneously in the US, one run out the Pentagon and the other being ICE.
As the Pentagon one comes to Congress seeking more funding for its “skirmish” against Iran, I am still waiting to hear a Democratic congressman facetiously propose taking money from ICE to fund the Pentagon request. Perhaps they don’t see a connection.
Morality of a society goes beyond political party, power, or money.
But what happens to a society that governs itself and it excuses the inexcusable? What happens when the largest sex trafficking in American history is dismissed to protect the guilty? What happens when your Congressional representative allows a person who denies a leader’s electoral victory? And what happens when a society votes for a liar to be the leader of the country? What happens when a group in a society accepts that their leader is immorally fit for office? What happens when the institution that supports the laws decides that morality is not important? What happens when people decide elections can be bought?
If that is the society WE the People believe WE have then WE are doomed. MSM may not cover the morality of the US but by polling WE are incensed with what OUR country has become. WE can decide and I would submit that outraged Americans expect more from those who expect to lead our country.
WE expect accountability of OUR government or those representing us will be voted out of office. WE will not accept $$$ to buy elections just because it’s expedient. America is at a moral tipping point when OUR decisions go beyond political party. Voting is how WE the People will correct our moral compass. And WE will use OUR sphere of influence to help make OUR course change because that’s not who WE are.
A solution is needed and there is only one viable solution. Rise up. An uprising, if we continue to dither the chains will be heat welded to our necks and ankles.
"Rise up," like how, William? Trump's troops have all the guns and the governing machinery and most of the media ownership...and yes, money. All the lovers of our imperfect democracy have is the truth, and as the world found out back in the 1930's and 40's, one lie is worth a thousand truths, and a lie (at that time, faster now) is half way around the world before truth can get its boots on.
Your are correct Richard, Trump has theguns, and what he doesn't control via ICE, DHS,DOJ, and DOD, he has millions of heavily armed members of his cult.
The only choice is hang together or hand separately as Ben Franklin said..
I mention rising up as the solution, but in truth I know that nothing will happen, because Americans are soft, spoiled and will wait until they actually feel real pain, before they are ready to act, and by that time it will be too late.
There I go, being a pessimist again. Am I, or am I a realist?
Unfortunately you're a Realist. I agree completely with your assessment. Most Americans do not have the capacity to see what is happening. My husband constantly challenges me to provide one material way that this Administration has negatively impacted my day to day life. I always say, They've stolen my faith in the justice system. I no longer believe that mankind is inherently good. I do not believe America will survive this.
The country of my birth now views me (and my ilk) as a "Leftwing Cancer" and a "Threat to Civilization." Extermination is the implied cure for this cancer. NSPM-7 promises to use the full weight of the Justice Department to : "Identify, Disrupt, Defund, DeBank, Arrest and Prosecute"
(But, my husband would say those impacts don't yet have a 'material' impact on my day-to-day life).
Good response Juliette I have to remember that. "He has stolen my faith in the justice system".
Alas I never had faith in the justice system, because there is no justice for us,only the law. Justice is for the entitled and empowered.
Your husband is like so many of the entitled. He has his toys, he can shop on line, he has three hots and a cot,his comforts, his EZ chair, his TV, where he can watch his sports. Buy his favorite drink, indulge his habits. as far as he is concerned all is good, and what to worry, Trump is restoring his "rightful" place as King of the caslle.
This was almost too fucking outrageous to get through, but I managed. The question now: Is it too late to dismantle what is rapidly becoming a surveillance state? How does one fight against the powers-that-be? Are they in control, or do we still have the means to surmount and defeat the threat? It's a serious question, and I for one have serious doubts. But let's hope I'm wrong.
Those are exactly my concerns; have we let the powers-that-are get away with too much, to where we are now like the cooked crabs that don't know what happened? I feel like it's too late in the game to do anything before the midterms, and doubt that they will be allowed to occur anyway.
If anyone is foolish enough to think that the courts are going to stop Trump and Miller, then they live on another planet, not this one.
Lower courts, if they rule against Trump and ICE, are overriden on appeal to the District Appeals Court, and if not then they are overruled by SCOTUS.
Meanwhile we stumple on to dictatorship like naive and ignorant, though not so happy campers.
No Kings marches, what did they produce? Nada, nothing, the engine keeps chugging along.
The myth of non violence,. Ghandi did not drive the Brits out of India, the "ghosts" of Subras Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army, plus millions of armed and angry Indians did the job.
Google them, educate yourself.
Did MLK's peaceful protests achieve anything? Nope., but I will tell you what did, the cities burning after his assassination.
Los Angeles suffered, and still suffers, from police prejudice, nothing changed until RodneyKing was beat almost to death, and the cops who beat him were exonerated, then the Watts riots and change, superficial as it was, happened.
It took the death and beating of martyrs, like those little girls in that Church basement in Alabama, or the marchers on the Edmund Pettis bridge,or beat almost do death for sitting at a lunch counter, or being shot and buried in an earthen dam in Missisisippi for change to come, and now it is being reversed because Americans are cowed by their luxuries and as I was told, "we weren't issued hair shirts"
Nothing will happen, things will keep getting worse, thejack boot presses down harder on our necks.
The slaves didn't free themselves, in fact quite a few of them, maybe the majority, didn't really want freedom, because freedom meant having to fend for yourself, earn money to feed, clothe and house oneself and their family.
With few exceptions, we too are slaves. Unchained slaves, slaves to our possessions, our comfort, our lifestyles, our hormones.
Nothing will save us but ourselves, only if we rise up. I would like to think that the vote will help, but they have already set in motion, laws, activities and procedures which will nullify our vote, or even our ability to even cast one.
Following that same strategy, over 760 local police agencies have now signed up for a task force model tying them to ICE spanning 1,493 active agreements, deputizing between 13,800 and 15,800 local officers to assist ICE.
This is the part that is so far beyond scary - that any local police anywhere could be partaking in this insanity.
Are any of the 760 in blue states. I fully expect the south and midwest, the red states to sign on, and I expect them to voluntarily adopt all of the tenets of the SAVE act.
Red states are hate states, slaves to religion and right wing ideology.
These actions are manifestations of radical evil. The Devil has been called “the Father of Lies.” In shining a luminous light into this darkness, Thom is calling out these realities. He is not afraid of pulling back the veil covering massive ugliness. It’s tempting to turn away, but that is exactly what we must not do. This administration is counting on the American people turning it all off due to exhaustion, discouragement and feeling inured to the daily chaos. I’m clear that it takes much courage and inner strength to stay present and keep our eyes open.
I’ve been reading The Prophet’s Way (probably for the 3rd time in as many decades); I’m taking it in with fresh eyes. Thom shares his spiritual journey and a few of his wisdom teachers. In the process he offers a larger frame for present events. He writes: “We are facing a planet-wide physical crisis, which has a spiritual and cultural basis…largely caused by our thinking we are separate from – disconnected from – the rest of life and the environment in which we live.”
I believe that this greater, planetary – essentially spiritual – perspective is essential in dealing with the struggles we are facing. At the same time, we can’t allow ourselves to be distracted from the immediate tasks – uprooting Trump-weeds from choking our garden…Lest we allow “religion to become the opiate of the people,” and thereby stay passive.
My sense is that in the past Thom’s vision has been more like a broad beam searchlight illuminating great vistas. I see his current focus as more of a laser – revealing the deep workings of our malignant and disgusting political landscape.
In the language of insight meditation, these would be akin to mindful awareness of the present moment vs. one-pointed concentration. It is known that both are needed for enlightenment.
Meditation is one of the transformational methods that may not have occurred you.
Here Eckhart Tolle shows how it can be highly relevant for social change:
“Opening up other levels of awareness can reveal solutions to seemingly insoluble problems — both personally and within the social order.
“To attempt to understand the dilemma at the root of the chaos of today’s world we need to turn and analyze — not merely the external circumstances, but the inner states of current human consciousness.”
My guess is that the oligarchs will be pulling out all the stops re- the November election. I’m very grateful that Thom emphasizing the obvious: that we need to use the voting process to stop, or at least slow down, the dark juggernaut of Trump-world.
However, I would not be surprised if the powers-that-be will be using AI and Deepfakes (in addition to pouring God-awful amounts of money into the election). It would behoove us to stay alert...
Two of my other concerns are that they will use a false flag attack and perhaps psychotronic weapons. If you’ve never heard of the latter (which affect human thought processes) you’re not alone. This stuff is highly classified. And quite real. If you’d like to view this sort of weapon in action, go see Disclosure Day. Steven Spielberg has said something like, “This stuff is too true to be fiction.”
Finally, speaking of closing out the current cycle and the UFO matter - on June 9th, 2026, a press conference at the US Capital, which included four representatives, journalists and whistleblowers demanded the release of all info related to “our neighbors” - both crafts and “biologics.”
Keep an eye on this. It may yet turn out to be our ace-in-the-hole.
In The Prophet’s Way Herr Mueller states that time moves in cycles. “This is the dawn of New Age.” While it will be a time of great joy, it will also be accompanied by “great sorrow, tribulation, pain and suffering…a necessary cleansing of the Earth, a regeneration.”
In Choosing Earth Duane Elgin – whose work for many years has been predicting future trends – lays out a sobering picture of what this transition will look like. The near future appears quite challenging, to say the least.
Jose Arguelles, in The Mayan Factor, suggests that we are coming to the end (and therefore, the beginning) of three “vibrational” cycles with durations of 5,000, 26,000, and 100,000 years, respectively. I see the Trump regime as representing the culmination of all three cycles – a process dredging up the deepest dreck, rot, crud, and garbage of the human experience so that – hopefully - we can see it, let it go, and move on.
We each have a unique role to play and I’m aware that a portion of Thom’s readership may not be interested in these vast perspectives on the present. However, I resonate with what Elgin and Arguelles are saying. I believe that my role is to see both the nitty-gritty, granular details – and at the same time – the broader contexts in which our daily lives are unfolding.
