It breaks my heart to read this because it fills in the relevant details that confirm a feeling and observation that I have held for many many years about the United States. Canadians used to think that we were smarter than Americans, but it isn't that. We have not had a powerful sector of the population deliberately lying to us and manipulating every aspect of our lives.

Thanks for updating us on this important topic. Wow, because of my busy life all these years I had not fully realized that back in 2004 Congress did not extend the assault weapons ban. It's incredibly scary to live in the United States especially with this new one from Sig Saucer coming out. This is absolutely unbelievable. Why? There's absolutely NO need for these weapons in our lives. NONE.

Senator Tammy Duckworth had given a very compelling speech back in May on "How many more children will you allow to be murdered?" which was very good and informative. I honestly find myself not wanting to go into public and after the movie theater mass shooting in Colorado, I had an anxiety attack the first time I went back to the theater. I worried everyday as my daughter went out the door to school and now I have to second guess going grocery shopping. This is terrorism. I've heard too often from Trump supporting acquaintances laughing about murdering democrats. So I've unfriended them on my personal social media. I think you are right that the GOP is a death cult. A police officer friend says they are totally uncomfortable with the lack of gun control and I believe from the training I've done with police that they are far more worried and fearful these days knowing they can be out gunned so their training is about defending themselves. I just find it unfathomable that these weapons are being allowed!! We need some strong fast solutions and long term turn around plan before more die needlessly.
