New Mexico was first to ban all federal agents from polling places!

Let’s make sure New Mexico is one of 50 states to assert its rightful sovereignty over all elections!

All states must make it LOUD and CLEAR!

Pass laws prohibiting all federal agents from all polling places!

NOW!

William Farrar's avatar

This is what I have been bitching about. These headline governors are great at standing on state house steps and expounding and beating their chests, but then they do nothing. Alligator mouth, humming bird ass I say.

Great of New Mexico, but what other blue states have followed. Worse yet, none of the governors have issued and executive order that prohibits federal agents from using state property, or prohibiting the state police or National Guard from assisting federal agents, and requiring their police to arrest anyone wearing a mask and harassing or kidnaping a citizen.

The Mayor of Denver did at least two of those, but not having police arrest agents for breaking the law.

All mayors could issue such instructions. If anyother government employee like a soldier or marine, beat, shit or kidnapped a citizen they would be in jail. Just because they are ICE, FBI, ATF, DEA or US Marshal does not give them license or authority, and they can be prosecuted.

They must have a judicial warrant, present it to the proper legal authority and proceed legally, what is happening is that we have been conditioned for the activities of Brown Shirts or GESTAPO, and our governors and mayors have not defied them.

Delia Wozniak's avatar

Thank you, William!

I agree with you 💯 %!

Many of our blue-state governors depend on corporate donations!

We MUST mandate strict campaign finance reform!

We MUST prohibit:

(1) corporate campaigns spending;

(2) PACs and Super PACs; and

(3) establish maximum limits for individual contributions!

Better yet, pass public financing for all campaigns!

WE WILL NOT HAVE A TRUE DEMOCRACY UNTIL WE TAKE MONEY OUT OF ELECTIONS!

G.P. Baltimore's avatar

Agree, wholeheartedly. Possibly the majority of politicians depend upon PAC bucks and corporate spending for their campaign. All of it has strings attached. Personally, I only contribute to campaigns who state they do not take corporate or PAC contributions.

William Farrar's avatar

There is a long list of musts and needs, but until we gain complete control those are a wish list.

As things are headed now, the fix is in for the elections. Eventually one of two things is going to have to happen.

The world turns against the United States, stops selling us its shit, the world drops the dollar and takes up the Renmimbi as the reserve currency, there is a world wide depression an starvation. BB and Trumps war has already kicked that one off.

Or there is a national uprising, a general strike, sabotage, a French 1789, but so long as Americans have their cell phones, their TV's gas to put in their vehicles, their toys and sports that is not going to happen, until it is too late.

G.P. Baltimore's avatar

William, looks like the Times today has an illustration and also talked of the Iranian strategy of defense (and attack) for the Strait that you explained the other day. Sitting up in the mountains—like shooting ducks in the water.

William Farrar's avatar

Yep, the hai rbrained idea of Hegseth and his craven generals of an attack on Kharq Island will result in a slaughter of Marines and Airborne if he is so stupid as to use them.

And if uses the Marines (Each MEU like the USS Tripoli) has 2,500 Marines about 2,000 of which are ground pounders, it will be a slaughter storming and holding or trying to hold

The Marine and Special Operations Command have to much testosterone, not even brains.

Apparently Putin isn't the only one that thinks in terms of meat assaults.

In Afghanistan they parachuted some AF Special tactics, and some Special forces to meet up with resistance leaders, There are none in Iran, And Afghanistan was not organized and prepared, Iran is.

Did I mention that they are ready to die as martyrs. During the Iraq Iran war, they took young boys, wrapped a band around their hand and sent them out as living mine detectors.

Stupid Christians have no understanding of the Muslim mind.

If you ignore the thousands or tens of thousands of American dead, Iran could be the straw that broke the Trumpian camels back.

Where are the Generals? Their silence is deafening. Why aren't they repeating what Mark Kelly said to the young military conscripts? You don't have to follow illegal orders. What words of wisdom have they shared? The US is sliding into an authoritarian dictatorship, and they are hiding under a rock.

William Farrar's avatar

AS I posted before any General that didn't walk out of thatauditorium at Quantico, where Trump and Hegseth, berated them, is complicit or cowardly or both. Every one of them should have walked out and submitted their retirement papers They stayed and debased themselves.

Christian nationalism has infiltrated the officer corps, starting with the Acadaemies. I don't trust any officer who is an academy graduate.

Delia Wozniak's avatar

William! Yes! I know!

You’re right! We are fumbling this resistance big time!

We need to consider it OPPOSITION, not merely “resistance!”

Police are misled! Cops think they cannot arrest a federal agent !

That’s BS!

Most mayors and governors are lazy blowhards!

There’s no real leadership!

It’s mind-numbing! I’m as angry as you!

One more thing. In a way analogous to what was done during the Civil Rights era, organize people to escort voters to the polls. To be trusted this would have to be done from the bottom up. But then Black clergy, respected Hispanic neighborhood leaders and so on, working with progressive groups, could organize and then on election day drive batches of people to their polling places. If several carloads (or a bus) of voters show up and give each other mutual encouragement and support, they simply can't be stopped. And while they legally have to stand back, I bet the poll workers in these neighborhoods would be thrilled to have such mass action. Individuals can be picked off, groups asserting their rights is a much harder thing. In unity there is strength.

Geoff Levin's avatar

This is good advice. I live in California and the idea of ICE agents at my polling place is outrageous, yet it could happen.

Daniel Solomon's avatar

Actually reminds me of Baghdad By the Sea...today. Democrats are called names, like "Commies."

But what is said affects and normalizes what is done.

That ICE is Trump's Gestapo is rather evident. That the Iran War might evolve into a Reichstag fire is surely possible. That the 2nd Trump term has been an active plot to replace Democracy with an autocracy, NAZI fascist philosophies and all, is evident by the fast pace to try to get in power by the November elections is also evident. Trump even acknowledged several times that if the Democrats take Congress, they will impeach him - game over.

The problem is that the MAGA cult continues to enable this fascist takeover, clueless as to how they will suffer if it happens. Few are like the lady in the gas station video who told Trump on camera that he is a worthless piece of shit, that she voted for him 3 times, and regrets it. "My bad!"

The only thing in America's favor is that both Trump and his sycophants are dumb as a doorknob. They fail to anticipate unintended consequences, and often step right into the traps they set. Each time they trip and fall on their own ICE, they turn off, insult even, more MAGA voters. The wildcard is Congress. Nearly all, Red & Blue, seem power-greedy and are enabling Trump. Will they grow a spine by election time?

William Farrar's avatar

Of Iran. There was news of a threat, obviously fake and most certainly from the regime, that LA was going to be attacked by Iran.

Impossible, Iran does not have an ICBM, and I even doubt that the IRBM that was shot down in the Indian ocean or fell short was from Iran. (Bay of Tonkin anyone?)

Based on Thom's article, I foresee a false flag operation, blaming Iran so Trump can invoke an emergency and suspend elections and civil liberties.

Robert B. Elliott's avatar

This is all very straightforward. They will do everything possible to scare and intimidate everyone and they will get away with as much as possible, and that will be a lot. The message must get across to as many people as possible. This is the one election when maximum voter turnout is absolutely essential and being timid and afraid is the way to assure you will see the end of democracy overnight. Regardless of whether there are ugliness and strong-arm tactics before or during the election, massive numbers of people must vote. Showing up in person and early when those are options are probably the best alternative. Not voting is cowardice and negligence at this point. Spreading the word is obligatory.

Sophia Demas's avatar

Right on target!

We're a mess here and across the world. This country is run by a perennial drunk driver and there is no one even giving him a DUI let alone jail time....

Gordon Berry's avatar

Thanks Thom for those really scary thoughts!

We need to all go marching this coming cold Saturday... in our millions.

Let's close down all private and public airports near Mar a Lago, and surround the place itself - maybe we can even electronically surround it too...

In numbers we can make it happen... - not just this Saturday..... the more days the merrier - for us!!

Jeffrey Hobbs's avatar

Note that there is also a push to get rid of voting by mail, to eliminate an alternative to appearing to vote in person. There is still early voting, so it would behoove us to plan our voting strategies well in advance, and to help our friends, family, and neighbors who may face challenges.

Voting shouldn't be a challenge, or a risk; it should be a right. But this is the state of play now.

Daniel Solomon's avatar

In SCOTUS, yesterday.

"The Supreme Court on Monday appeared ready to overturn a Mississippi law that allows mail-in ballots to be counted as long as they are postmarked by, and then received within five business days of, Election Day. After just over two hours of oral argument in Watson v. Republican National Committee, a majority of justices seemed to agree with the challengers – which included the Republican Party of Mississippi and the Libertarian Party of Mississippi – that the Mississippi law conflicts with federal laws that set the Tuesday after the first Monday in November as the “election day.”

William Farrar's avatar

What I've been saying. The problem is the law, the judiciary, if it is found for the people at Disrict level, it is reversed at appellate level, if not there then at SCOTUS, either via the shadow docket or in full court.

And where the Courts rule against the regime, the regime ignores the courts

As the nation's house is engulfed in flames, Schumer and Hakeem sit on JD's couch looking vaguely concerned, as Donald shows home movies of himself to Mitch. This particular reel shows him and Epstein having alternating sloppy seconds with various 13-year-old girls . . . Wait !!, is that a boy?!!

Meanwhile, Jared is sniffing around in Saudi Arabia, looking for $5 billion more for his fake firm Affinity. More money for nothing.

In America, meanwhile, we cannot catch a plane without the worry that we'll be shot in the face or back by the special education types who have the authority to kill us with immunity.

IMHO the magic word for both Bannon and Trump is Epstein.

Google: Key Revelations from the "Epstein Files"

Media Training & Image Rehabilitation: Bannon reportedly acted as a behind-the-scenes advisor, helping Epstein strategize a "rebranding" as a philanthropist to counter his reputation as a sex trafficker. This included "media training" and advice on which lawyers to hire.

The "Secret" Documentary: Bannon recorded approximately 15 hours of video interviews with Epstein at his Manhattan townhouse. Bannon claims these were for a documentary to "expose" Epstein, while critics and some released files suggest they were "media training" intended for a redemption tour. The DOJ recently released roughly two hours of this footage.

Political Collaboration: The two men frequently discussed politics and global strategy. Epstein reportedly provided Bannon with international contacts to help build a "populist" movement in Europe.

Personal Ties & Perks: Files show a high level of "chumminess," with Epstein offering Bannon use of his private jet, luxury apartments, and even paying for medical check-ups. Epstein once joked about being Bannon’s "most highly paid travel agent".

Strategic Advice for Trump & Kavanaugh: Texts indicate Epstein offered advice to Bannon on how to defend President Trump during media campaigns and how to undermine the accusations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

And how is Bannon and Epstein going to stop the rock rolling down the hill?

If no consequences then yapping, bloviating, screaming and hollering is a waste of time.

So how does that work, how can they be stopped?

clay hipp's avatar

Everyone. Please read this article. General Stanley McCrystal talks wit David French about this "war". if you have struggled to understand the very convoluted relationship between the US and Iran, it will become so much clearer.

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/23/opinion/trump-iran-general-mcchrystal.html

William Farrar's avatar

The General, McChrystal, told the troops that the war in Afhanistan was a crusade.

Presaging that commander who told the troops that Trump was Jesus agent and this was a holy war.

clay hipp's avatar

He seems to have become older and wiser over the years. Would that we could all emulate that wisdom and grow.

Gloria J. Maloney's avatar

I read it yesterday and I agree with you that everyone should read it.

William Farrar's avatar

McChrystal is a Christian Warrior. About Iran it is impossible. The Iranian navy was a rust bucket for show, the real navy is the IRGC navy, it's fishing dhows which can and have been used as suicide bombs, and the 33,000 fast boats that they have hidden away in coves, sheds and underground bunkers along a 400 mile coast.

The IRGC has divided Iran into 31 zones, each one has it's own independent command and control, and they have a telephone tree of replacements, for their leadership, they will act united or independently. They have been preparing for this since 1988, they are dug into the mountains and Iran is nothing but mountains.

They are true believing Muslims who welcome death as martyrs, unlike Christians and Jews who fear death.

Martyrdom is an easy pass to paradise

NATO found out during the Balkan war, that you can't fight an enemy who doesn't fear death and Islamic holy warriors, muhajadeen, jihadi's, don't.

All of the resistance was wiped out in the January protests where the Basiji killed upwards of 50,000 people mowing them down with automatic weaons.

The Basiji are volunteers, the tea salesman in the bazaar the cab driver and they are fanatic Shia, who adore their ayatollah .

There are four prominent ayatollahs in Iran, all four have issued fatwas for the war, but no fatwa of Jihad yet, when such a fatwa is issued, every Shia Muslim is oblied to take a kufr (infidel) life.

There is no winning this war.

We are led by idiots, fucking idiots, they don't listen to experts. They even tried to get the Kurds involved, bombing border crossings, radar stations, police stations in kurdistan Iran. The CIA even sent them arms, and agents have got at last one rogue faction to go along, but the Syrian and Iraqi Kurds have warned off the Kurds, don't trust America, they screwed us in Turkey, Syria and Iraq.

This minor rogue faction is probably making pretense for the money and weapons.

We are led by idiots, and this is all the doings of Netanyahu and his chain dog Trump

All of this, lives and property lost, economic ruin, a looming depression, rising prices, starvation (world wide if not America) to save BB's ass..

Daniel Solomon's avatar

I don't think McCrystal and French have met the Iranians I know. Virtually none of them are devout followers of anybody. Most of them are Moslem but wanted to be westernized, and voted with their feet to leave the country.

We bribed the Shia in Iraq into submission. Literally.

Check out Tousi. https://www.youtube.com/@TousiTV

According to Tousi, there's a civil war inside Iran.

William Farrar's avatar

That civil war inside Iran was squashed by the Basij in January at the cost of 20,000 to 30,000 gunned down by the Basij.

There is also a civil war in America, it just hasn't erupted into solid resistance, so far is safe, protest marches.

Not sure I trust Touis, he, as does Reza Pahlavi has his agenda, and those with whom he communicates, well "birds of a feather and all of that"

I don't trust any sources, all I can do is evaluate the situation on the limited basis of what we know, and even that is stilted.

Actially al Jazeera is a good source for mid east news. I should probably pay up to add international to Dish, but I do get some from Free Speech TV. BBC is a relatively good source as well.

American media sucks.

Frankly I prefer al Jazeera, they don't gloss over stuff and feed us pablum like American media.

And then there is Black Man, Spy, really good, he was navy intell in Iraq, speaks Arabic and his guest hosts are a former Danish Intelligence, and a Saudi., he has a daily podcast. Watch and you might learn something.

The ones that you know are expats. I know a few as well.

The ones in Iran live under the gun, The IRGC, which is about 150,000 are pretty much devout and fanatic followers of the ayatollahs, the ayatollahs issue a fatwa and they jump.

The Basiji are the same but number in the millions, it was the Baiji that gunned down the protesting Iranians not the IRGC.

Yes there are those in Iran that want to be free of the ayatollahs, not Islam. just like 40% of America are Trump humping MAGAts

Blue states should act proactively. Call a special session of the legislature. Make plans to make sure that all eligible voters can access birth certificate and marriage licenses. It is important to gather the necessary witnesses and signatures so that individuals without a birth certificate can get one from the state. This is especially important for Native Americans. It is time to stuff the evil Trump and his minions back in the box.

chev_chelios's avatar

.....as for voting....tRUMP is feeling more and more cornered and thus throwing every distraction he can against the wall...threatening to invade allies...bombing boats in the Caribbean and Pacific, killing innocent civilians...getting red states to gerrymander voting districts to make unfavorable for democrats to vote...Invading Venezuela and kidnapping their leader and his wife while still leaving the corrupt government in place and stealing their oil for his own personal gain...oh, and lets not forget, invading and declaring war, while saying it's not a war, on Iran who was found not to have a nuke now or anytime soon and did not attack the US and we now find ourselves in a deep pile of horse sh*t with no plans to get out...all the while to distract and cover up from the epstein files....this POS is without a doubt guilty of all these crimes.....and many, many more.....

.....all this to manipulate taking control over voting by creating a national emergency and declaring martial law by using the DHS and ICE (and the military ) to move in and prevent people from casting their votes by intimidation or force.....stopping the vote is his real intent to be able to stay in power and not being able to be removed....

.....imo, 3 main reason that come to my mind why this piece of trash has not been removed from office....

one : the Despicable 6 of the SCOTUS, who have enabled the wealthy with the Citizens United decisions, among many other horrendous decisions, that greatly affect our elections...and the immunity decision that pretty much gave tRUMP total immunity to do anything he pleases without retribution....all during his trials accused of trying to overturn the election with the J6 insurrection and the stolen classified documents found in his fleabag motel next to a toilet.....the SCOTUS is public enemy #1......

two : the complicit republicans in congress in both the house and senate (starting with speaker maga Mike) that do what they are told for fear of being primaried and voted out of their cushy jobs who have completely abdicated their Article II powers over to tRUMPazoid.

and three : tRUMP's hard core base of about 35% of the voting population, that without them having his back, he would be [dead] in the water....

.....the thing that has been turning the tide against tRUMP are the Epstein Files....seems that no matter what distractions that this failed excuse for a human being tries to do, even starting illegal wars (Epstein Fury) and killing people, the Files still keep rising to the surface....the truth is really leaking out more than ever and I hope without any doubt it comes out that he is that pedophile the files say he is...and him and all his accomplices will be held accountable for their terrible crimes and justice will be had for the victims of these truly vile individuals for their reprehensible crimes against these girls, now women.....and against the US, it's citizens and people of countries around the world......
