Voting is a class issue, as well as a race issue. Democracy gives power to the poor and working class, so it is in the interest of the ownership class to rescind the votes of as many poor people as possible, to retain the owners' dominance. This, plus heavy-handed policing/jailing/executing of the underclass preserves an order that is presumed to be natural.

Back in the 60s when I was active in CORE, people referred to such politicians as Uncle Toms or Oreos (black on the outside but white on the inside. In both cases, the labels were meant to indicate a Party that did not have minority interests in mind.
It is ironic that Republicans try to eliminate mailed ballots, because like this white disabled veteran, I cannot at age 79 stand for an hour in line to vote. Why do they think that I am automatically a Democrat? I'm rich. I own a gun. Those are stereotypical Republican traits. If anything, the GOP is annoying people like me into voting Blue out of annoyance.
I can say that, when voting in person, most people cast at least some votes by party because they have no idea who the people on the ballot are. What is that judge's record of fairness? What, I just voted for a Negro? But he was a Republican. I voted for a Republican governor who wants to raise my taxes? The GOP would obviously be better off running to govern rather than to rule.

However, it’s critical, especially right now as voting is already happening in many states, to add two pieces of information to ANY article like this, which frankly I don’t think is helpful at all in any case this late in the election season because it can only serve to de motivate infrequent voters who may believe they won’t be allowed to vote anyways….but the two pieces of information are this: remind people to check the status of their voter registration before voting with their secretary of state’s office…most states have an online portal for this, or one can call one’s city clerk’s office, too, I’m pretty sure. the second, and most important, is that IF someone is given a provisional ballot, which they should be instructed to insist upon if they are told they’re not on the voter rolls when they know they should be, and they should be informed of HOW to get that ballot counted. Most are thrown out because voters are not given an explanation of how to “cure” them, meaning how to get them counted…by showing up at their county clerk’s office, or even the voting site on Election Day later in the day, with the proper identification and proof of residence to show they should be on the rolls and allowed to vote!!!
How can we get the news to cover this! CNN or MSNOW need to be focusing on this issue. Expose the GOP for the cheaters they? Can anything be done to slow them down?
Support No Kings this Saturday which is all about protecting the vote. Tell folks to check their registration and to sign up with your state's voter information site if you have one. In Washington it is votewa.gov and you will be informed when your ballot is mailed to you, when your ballot is received back and when your ballot is accepted or declined for a some issue.
We should also be prepared for mass protests if something doesn't look right with the returns on Nov. 3 or after.

Where? oh where are our champions to fight for US? If thousands possibly even millions of voters have been removed from voter rolls this could be a repeat of the last go-round. I can't tell from my position if the D's really mounted any campaign of "check your name on the voter rolls" months and months ago. Why haven't the D's organized a voter poll protection plan that will WATCH THE WATCHERS in these offending states? It sounds like we could all just start screaming. I'm kind of cooked every time I read another article like this one.
If Dems do win congressional control, then the media and the public must then try to convince the military and law enforcement (at whose mercy we will be) leaders to do their duty to the constitution and the people, and not to a traitorous president and his party.
