Alis: We are already in a mixed war, it started when Trump federalized the guard and deployed it and 700 marines to L.A.
Mixed war is a type of war where a nation fights against private individuals. War is a hostile conflict between nations, states, or rulers, or sometimes between parties within the same nation or state. It can also be a dispute or competition between adversaries. War can be limited or involve an entire nation. War crimes are actions that violate international laws governing the conduct of international armed conflicts, such as killing hostages or abusing civilians. https://lsd.law/define/mixed-war
At present it is a cold mixed war, but it either gets hot or we are all enslaved.
The only chance I see is a soft secession, and the west coast is paving the way, baby steps, California, Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii have formed the West Coast Health Alliance
Next is an interstate compact, the creation of States Self Defense Force, states are not legally required to have National Guard units, though in practice, every state does have an Army and Air National Guard. While there is no federal law mandating states to establish a National Guard, 32 U.S.C. § 104 prohibits the disbanding of existing National Guard units without the approval of the U.S. President, ensuring their continued existence. of the states National Guard
But the governor can demobilize the guard, fire the command structure, that way there is no way for the President to mobilize the guard.
Mobilization or federalization only works if there is a chain of command and the Commanding General and his staff are ordered by the President or Hegseth to mobilize.
Maryland has it's own State Militia, and I don't mean the State Police or Hiway Patrol.

What do think about blue states calling up their national guard to guard against the national guard Trump is calling in and demanding? Bullies don’t back down to words, they back down when they are challenged and lose!
We then have the spark to set off Civil War 2. All you'd need is for one side to start firing on the other side. All bets are off at that point. And people have been wondering why so many have suddenly become preppers and are arming themselves.
Trump has started a Mixed war, see my post above. A civil war is a war between two authorities, Trump is already waging war on it's citizens. It just hasn't got hot yet, but he is egging it on
The problem with Civil War 2, is that it is not a war between clearly defined sides.
Your neighbor is your enemy, he doesn't wear a uniform. He is probably armed to the teeth and you are disarmed.
But the real war has already started, eventually we will settle into slavery or serfdom, or find that our coworker, our neighbor, family member is a member of the enemies force.
California, Oregon, Washington have taken the first step with their West Coast Health Alliance, all they have to do is take it further.
We either resist now while we still can, or we accept the tyranny of the radical, Christian right,.
Oh, I'm quite certain that we're going to see something like that. I know most of my neighbors are MAGA. We're in a deep red state and keep a low profile. However, anyone who seriously messes with us will get a rude surprise or two. If it comes to it, I'd rather die on my feet than serve on my knees.
When the spark sets it off, we'll see just how revolutionary Americans are.
It is beginning to sound like "Dr. Strangelove" where confused U.S. Army and Air Force troops were shooting at each other. Or maybe "Bananas" in which the CIA decided that it couldn't lose a revolution if it backed both sides. But this is no joke. It's hard to imagine Texas and Illinois National Guard forces firing on each other, and hopefully cooler heads from their generals to sergeants won't give or carry out such orders, but who knows what a random shot by one soldier or angry civilian could do.
The National Guard can be federalized. At that time the Guard has to choose between following state or federal orders. To reject federal authority would put them in open defiance of the federal government, which would have serious consequences, including a charge of treason. No, in the end it has to be ourselves who take to the streets and stay there. If we aren't willing to put ourselves on the line how can we expect our Guard to act by itself? We may lose regardless of our chosen path but if we don't act losing is guaranteed.
I would like to see Washington, Oregon, and California on the west coast and Maine to New Jersey including Delaware and New York cede the US and join Canada. Middle America would be happy without those damn liberals and the coasts would be better aligned with Canadas values. Boundary realignments and legalities would be negotiated by US, and Canada and final approval by NATO. Anyone left in a country they do not wish to be in should have a 10 year pathway to relocate and change citizenship as long as they do not have first class felonies on their records.
Most of the demonstrations have people assigned to de-escalate any situations, and they serve as first aid folks. Indivisible does try to take care of people, so pass the word about that to the people who are showing up that have not attended meetings.
It's amazing that some damn provocateurs haven't sparked violence or property damage. TRump and the cult constantly project; they like to call us "paid" protestors. You know they have some of those lined-up. Blue Governors and Attorney Generals can put out the word they will charge them, and TRump can't pardon them. We should record them with our phones and get the safety/first aid people on it.
I have sympathy for our Guard Troops, and saw my share of them when I was active duty. If you know one, remind them that they can be prosecuted. Stay safe. See you in the streets.
Where is Congress actively working on stopping the agenda of Trump, despite the Republican resistance. Contacting reps on both sides as much as possible needs to be done and not permit Trump to continue with his destructive agenda. 🙏🤞
My concern is that the vast majority of folks currently in power think they have more to lose than they do to gain—personally and objectively speaking—by going along with Trump. Those ppl are never going to listen to us, even though we should still make every effort to have our voices heard, so that, at the very least, history will show that there was a significant resistance. The thing is, Trump cannot overcome the groundswell of public resistance bc: 1) he is not offering the 98% any real benefit, since his big ugly bill takes it away from us and puts it in the hands of him and his billionaire buddies, and; 2) with social platforms like Reddit, Substack, and Bluesky, he is unlikely to gain sufficient control of the news media to ensure that his chosen narrative is the only one voters hear.
Well, exactly. Even if it’s long odds—and it is, with these “honest” politicians, where the value for an honest politician is “one who stays bought”—we still need to make our voices heard.
Some of us ave been working on it, but it takes pressure. Many of them privately admit that Trump is nuts, but are intimidated. https://jerryweiss.substack.com/
Some are willing to support us on indiviual issues like Trumpepstein, The BIG Crappy Bill, Ukraine, tarriffs, etc.
Some say that they fear for their lives if they come forward.
But all politics is (and are) local. We should pressure the 7 Republican House members from California. Trump hates California. They should empathize and commisurate with the threat to Chicago. Several are members of the Problemsolvers' Conference.
Sorry Nola, he has got the corporate media cowed. CBC cancelled Stephen Colbert, because Stephen has mocked him, and he is pressuring ABC to cancel Jimmy Kimmel.
Has major lawfirms, universities, media outlets, the tech sector, even Chancellors, Presidents and Prime Ministers kissing his ring.
And the MAGA base, those that approve of Trump is 43%, and that 43% is all he has needed to take over the country.
And now he has declared war on the people and cities and states that don't kiss his ring or ass.
For sure. That’s why he shouldn’t be needing a show of force. But what he doesn’t have is a complacent, apathetic public, which he also needs if he is going to maintain his authoritarian regime. Because here is the salient point I hope no one tells him: If the 98% do not see a benefit to continuing to support him, like lower food and gas prices prices or better access to health care, they are simply not going to do it. And right now, he is clearly effing the working class over to make money for his billionaire buddies. He isn’t even trying to be subtle about it. Some of his voters are even recognizing it now, although not his committed base.
Sorry Nola, You don't understand the sentiments and motivation of the American
public, maybe you and even 50% or more are really concerned bout money and billionaire buddies, but the hard core, that base, which supports Trump and his regime are motivated by the culture war, owning the libtards, keeping them brown and black people in their place, and women as well
As an example, Curtis Nebraska, a very small faming community it losing it's only medical center because of Trump's policies and his OBBB, the seniors who need readily available medical care, don't blame Trump, they blame the hospital
Farmers who have been it by tariff's and his defunding of SNAP, haven't abandoned their love of Trump, it isn't the pocketbook, but the culture war.
Oh, I understand that for the Trump base he is Jesus risen. However, that base only makes up between 30-40% of the US voting population, so it is only a plurality, not a majority. And yes, most of them are continuing to support him. But some are beginning to speak out against him, and the easier and more pleasant we make it for them to change their minds, the more of them are likely to do it. If we can get enough of them on board with the reality his policies are creating for them, they will stop supporting him. Because a lot of his supporters at this point are doing it because it represents their community, and when enough community members acknowledge his policies aren’t benefitting them like they were told and believed said policies would, the others will feel safe to admit it as well.
Trump is not Jesus Nola, Trump is the personification of their own ego and id, they see Trump and they see themselves.
It matter little that they are a minority, they are a dedicated, fanatic minority and that is all it takes to take over a country. It happened before, in all countries, the most glaring example is Germany and Italy and Spain.
Did you know that only 3% of the population supported the revolution in 1775. True.
It only takes 17% of a population for it to undergo a culture shift, and that is what is happening in America. We are at the begining of a culure shift, into a patriarchal, white Christian nationalist culture, That is what is going on.
They are winning or shall I say have won, the culture war, and the victors will tolerate economic pain, so long as they have won the culture war.
I didn’t mean that Trump actually *is* Jesus returned. I meant that in their minds, he is the equivalent of Jesus returned. And I stand by that. It doesn’t negate any of your other points though. And I don’t think they have already won the culture war, bc if they had, there wouldn’t be so much pushback against his administration.
Exactly. That’s why we have to keep calling the whole lot of them out, even if it’s unlikely to change their behavior. And we have to vote in every election, and demand more public transparency and tougher checks on the election process.
I understand that their entire identity is now bound up in essentially worshiping Trump. But a big part of that is that all their friends and relatives are also caught up in worshiping him, so it’s not just their personal ID or worldview at stake; it’s their sense of connection to the larger world. My point is that if enough members of the cult can find their way out and be accepted by the rest of us, just like you said about the 3.5%, a bigger portion of the ones who remain in the cult can be lured out by their connections with the ones who have left.
It is past overdue that our democratic leadership in congress assert the following rights, as Jen Rubin in the Contrarian wrote.
"MAGA justices apparently wrongly assume they are beyond reproach. In fact, Congress controls their jurisdiction, composition, and even the length of their terms, many legal experts argue.
Congress could, for example, entirely do away with its appellate jurisdiction. An en banc panel of the D.C. Circuit Court could be designated as the highest court for appellate review. A lesser step would be to allow appellate review only of final opinions, thereby eliminating the emergency docket as a means of lifting temporary restraining orders or preliminary injunctions.
Given the unconscionable conduct of the current Supreme Court, a course correction is long overdue."
Lower courts have complained that the SC has undermined their rulings and enablled tRump to literally get away with murder. It is high time that the democratic congress fight back now. We can't wait to enlarge the court to 13. Timing is everything.
I found some additional information that supports your conclusion. Instead of the majority party initiating any challenge, both house of congress have to vote on it.
"The minority party in Congress cannot directly limit appellate jurisdiction. Appellate jurisdiction is primarily defined by the Constitution and federal law, which Congress can influence through legislation. However, any changes to appellate jurisdiction would require a majority vote in both houses of Congress, meaning the minority party alone cannot enact such limitations.
The courts have no enforcement powers whatsoever. That's why Giuliani never paid those Georgia gals he defamed and why Trump has never paid E Jean Carroll.
Allow me to point out something that's always extremely important, but which is repeatedly forgotten: "It's the economy, stupid." If you want to rally the maximum number of people across all states against this, link it to the economy.
Those mired in hourly absorption of politics always over-look how "most" (not all) citizens aren't that way. "Most" citizens are mired in sports and other distractions, and only catch political news when it manages to penetrate their other bubbles.
HOWEVER, what "news" they do experience every day and doesn't get masked from them is their own personal economics. Their own personal economics is something which even FoxNews can't successfully hide from them. FoxNews can't successfully tell somebody who can't make ends meet that everything is great under Trump. Thus, at best, they have to rely on deflection of blame -- which doesn't make the pain go away and Trump's still the one in the White House regardless of how many fairy tales Fox tries to spin.
Remember, the Democrats took a beating over just inflation -- which had already subsided and had been accompanied by a red-hot jobs market creating wages exceeding inflation. Now those same people who gave Democrats a beating are feeling inflation coming back, a job market collapsing, layoffs increasing, and wages stagnating.
What needs to happen is linking the pain those voters are experiencing to Trump's authoritarian actions. Specifically, how Trump knows his pro-billionaire anti-worker economic policies are severely hurting "YOU" and is attempting to prevent "YOU" from voting against them to try and make "YOUR" life better. His goal is to lock-in his new pro-billionaire economy without "YOU" having any say over it. He's out to make permanent the pain "YOU'RE" feeling now because he and his relatives are doing great.
It's also important to remember "most" voters actually don't REALLY care whether billionaires are stealing all the wealth PROVIDED the voters feel they're doing okay in their own lives. "Feel their doing okay in their own lives" is also extremely subjective -- they're the ones deciding what "okay" is to them.
Plenty of people have very low aspirations. Plenty of people just want the same job their father had which pays enough money to go to the pub with friends most nights and periodically to a sports game. Don't even necessarily think of a major sports game in-person. Tons of people don't even live within easy driving distance of a major sports team.
A successful message has to start by going to where the listen is. What relates to the listener's life as concerns them right now.
99% of MAGATS lose under Trump policy, vote aginst their own interests. The people we can persuade are the politicians, many of them know better but are cowed. Takes pressure.
Assuming that we will still have an honest election Daniel. You have said we wuz robbed, and indeed we were, but election interference is only one way we wuz robbed.
Voter caging, voter restriction laws, like Real ID, redistricting (gerry mandering), armed poll watchers, even National Guard poll watchers, MAGA election officials (independent election officials have beenrun off and replaced by MAGAts as in San Bernardino Co,, CA)
So in thef face of stolen elections, and a fake election in 2028. what is our alternative?
How about co-opting the enemy? Only takes about 5 House Republicans to get started .
I've been asking Pa DA's to get started with the investigation the former state AG started.
Nobody in MSM has reported on the post election audit NCA did that shows it.
“In December 2024, I was personally involved in an NSA‑authorized forensic audit of the 2024 election. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz won—by a wide margin. Trump lost dramatically. There are multiple layers of complexity to this cover‑up, including transnational organized crime syndicates that extend far beyond the United States and our elections. To that point, I work in the human trafficking sector, which intersects with the stolen election(s) and has ties to Trump and Epstein—not to President Biden, Vice President Harris, or Governor Walz, but to the Democrats and other allied interests responsible for burying the audit.” — Adam Zarnowski, ex-CIA agent and author of Jörmungandr
Law suits, law suits and law suits, vapor ware because when they get to the Supreme Court they are dispensed with on the Shadow docket, or as in this from the Guardian " The US supreme court is dominated by conservative justices, with six of the nine nominated by Republican presidents, including three by Trump. This supermajority has granted Trump 18 straight victories in the administration’s requests for emergency relief – and been accused by Sonia Sotomayor, a liberal-leaning justice, of undermining the bedrock principle that America is a “government of laws, not of men”."
We will see because the Solicitor general Sauer) has asked for an expedited hearing (Sep 10th) as o whether the ruling by the appeals court that Trump doesn't have the authority to impose tariffs, will stand. want to wager on whose side SCOTUS rules? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/08/trump-tariffs-supreme-court
However this might be the one case where the court bucks Trump to "prove" it's independence.
In other news the "shadow" docket:
As of Monday, September 8, 2025, the Supreme Court has granted a stay in Vasquez Perdomo v. Noem, which effectively paused a temporary order against the Department of Homeland Security's practices in Los Angeles. This action, while not a rejection, reversed lower court decisions that had temporarily protected individuals from being stopped without reasonable suspicion.
That has given DOJ and HSI carte blanche to arrest anyone.
Update: My wife got an alert on her cell phone, SCOTUS has given Noem and HSI the go ahead to grab people off the street .
The repiglican politicians are themselves cows and pigs. They will vote against their own self interest. And if the thought ever arises in the heads of maggot voters it'll be too late - no more elections. He's already said.
Keith, the problem with the "it's the economy stupid" hypothesis is it conflicts with reality.
The MAGA base is a cult, a cult formed around a culture war, a culture war waged by Christian churches and men who have lost the total power that they once enjoyed, over females and family.
Those farmers that are hurt by Trump's policies, are still Trump humpers. Civil servants who lost their jobs are still Trump humpers.
MAGA may only be 40%, but it is a dedicated 40% that will turn out to vote or support their cult leader 99 to 100%, while the rest of society diddles, frets and pouts because theydidn't get their way, or as in 2024 Biden supported Israel.
Not all Trump voters were MAGA RINOs. There's a marketing axiom... 1/3 of the people will buy your product regardless. 1/3 of the people won't buy your product regardless. Put your effort into the 1/3 who are persuadable. That "1/3" is intended to be a generalization, but it's amazing how often things are loosely in the ballpark. Trump's cratering in the polls primarily because of the economy, for very good reason.
The polls are consistent, 43% of the voters approve of Trump, they might disapprove of this or that action, but in the main they approve of Trump.
That is more than 1/3 of the people. whether or not they are actually MAGA is irrelevant, there is no such thing as a MAG organization, well there is and it is called Republican
There is no way to know who is persuadable, and in that regards the choices these days are too stark.
The old persuadable days are gone, as is the economic man hypothesis.
Battle lines are drawn, teams are lined up, damn few people sitting on the sidelines trying to be convinced.
Defeatism is the last thing on my mind. Protesting and voting won't achieve any results, what is needed is positive action, resistance in all it's forms and a good start is with the West Coast Health Alliance, of Washington, Oregon and California
If you think that marching around with signs, chanting and even voting is going to turn the tide, think again.
Most if not all of the monetary "pain" will not happen until 2027. Too late! The same with the "medical" monetary pain and health consequences.. All rigged for 2027 Too late!
Inflation is happening right now, today. Job creation is cratering right now, today. Layoffs are rising right now, today. CNN had a recent report on people in Tennessee irate at Trump over rising prices. One doesn't need the Big Ugly Bill for this. People are experiencing economic pain right now, today.
I’m not sure why Trump thinks he needs a show of force like this, since he already (imo) gained his second term through voter suppression and electoral fraud. We just haven’t been able to prove the fraud yet. The only thing I can think of is that he wants to send a message to the world about what kind of nation the US has become under his direction.
We see all of this coming and happening around us. There have been sporadic protests but nothing of major consequence. Multiple people like Tom Hartmann and Chris Armitage have come right out and told us what we need to do.
Nationwide labor strikes, protests like we had in the late 1960's and early 1970's, massive recall petitions for MAGA congress people, and so forth.
The national guard troops are just like all of us. They're mentally thinking about where their politics lies as they follow their orders. Will some of them shoot at Americans? Absolutely. Just like some of their civilian counterparts from states like Texas and Louisiana who are largely uneducated, propagandized poor people, who believe whatever they're told as long as that narrative fits their economic circumstance. A lot of these guard soldiers only joined up for that extra monthly check and they need it so bad, they will do whatever they're told to keep that money coming. I was one of those weekend warriors once so I know what they're thinking.
The tinder is on the ground in Illinois. All that's needed is one tiny spark, like an accidental shooting by a young, uneducated, national guard soldier to light the fire. We had our Kent State and vowed never to let that happen again but here we are again, about ready to let history repeat itself once more.
Let's be honest: We live in a failed state. We had a good run of it but no nation remains intact for ever. How this all sorts out is, at least at this point, impossible to say for sure, but we are not going to go quiet into that good night. That we are in an abusive relationship, one that now includes battery, goes without saying. Perhaps the best path forward would be to step away from each other, as in a trial separation ,to find out if we really want a divorce or if there is enough common ground and respect that we want/need to preserve.
I note with disdain that the Supreme Court has authorized Trump to continue throwing people to the ground and deporting them based solely on their skin color. Or that he can, without cause, fire commissioners of independent agencies. Lest we forget, Hitler was given carte blanche by his judiciary as well.
We can't keep drawing lines in the sand forever. Do it often enough and the other side begins to view it with unabated mirth.
Krasnov is working his best to make fear his driver to overcome democracy and local control. The Repubs desires to control election flow in Blue cities to suppress the vote on election day. The parasites think they can hide behind wrong doers acting as those safeguarding society. They cannot hide as the Chosen One is a multidimensional being affecting social influencers by broadcasting truth worldwide to all dimensional planets. This makes the masks of liars fall and all see what is. Parasites siphon energy because they cannot feed themselves because they do not love themselves. They must feed off others rather than thru self love. The truth of who are the liars cannot be hid. The haters cannot operate in the open as their lies is in the open. The Chosen is in charge and not Krasnov. The influence of the Chosen One grows. It is over. The light has won for even the demons bow to him.
I think the states should arrest and lock up all federal persons who break the law in their state, regardless if they are federal marshals, National Guard, Army or ICE people, including congressmen and senators who happen to enter their state, or staff from the executive branch.
I know you are reading the scene correctly, Professor Hartmann. You are exactly right. He is reshaping this into an authoritarian dictatorship. I’m not at all sure how to stop this. I know we must- now, not later.
We're arriving at the apex. Let's show up and remind ourselves and each other what this country forever hopes to be. We have to try.
Also this from Thom -

Agree, like Kent State if they aren’t careful.
Precisely. That was the incident I was thinking about.
Trump will simply federalize that states national guard. I've posted an alternative above.
The National Guard can be federalized. At that time the Guard has to choose between following state or federal orders. I agree, he had 4 yrs to plan all this, and his right hand kiss ass Miller and loomer are pushing it forward.
We are in deep here and we only have a short time to pull us out,and push dt in. God Help Us
Big decisions for all involved.
You got it. https://problemsolverscaucus.house.gov/
The problem solvers caucus is divided between Republicans and Democrats
The Co chairs of the Caucus are Thomas Suozzi Dem and Brian Fitzpatrickh Republican
Here is Suozzi's voting record, hardly progressive and definitely cryptocoin
https://justfacts.votesmart.org/candidate/key-votes/92111/thomas-suozzi
And here is Fitzpatricks Voting record. Cosponors a bill for unions, but votes anti abortion, misogynist, patriarchal.https://justfacts.votesmart.org/candidate/key-votes/167708/brian-fitzpatrick
Fitzpatrick has some laudable votes, but he voted consistently against women's rights.
As regards the Problem Solvers Cause it is a conservative, that is right of center) caucus and it is opposed to any progressive policies and actions.
Bipartisan ship was Biden, and looked what that got us, Garland and a free Trump
Lay down with dogs and get up with flees.
You're opposed to TRYING to get them involved.
I am suppose to be trying to get who involved Daniel. The Problem Solvers?
The problem solvers are corporate reps, the Dems could just as easily be Republicans if they lived in a Red district.
As I said lie down with dogs get up with fleas.
Roll Call 282 | Bill Number: H. Res. 719 A resolution honoring Charlie Kirk

This is our leadership, this is who is going to save us from a dictatorship?

Those who fail to ask do not get.
Some speak truth in private, but it is in public in the house and senate that matters.
The 7 repiglican house members from California will vote against California
Ask R. MAGAt Rep Kim whether she liked the Trump attack on Koreans at the Honda plant in GS.
We need 5 House Republicans to initiate it.
I ask Jen and all others "Why have parties at SCOTUS failed to file motions to recuse Thomas and Alito?"
Why havent the minority justices?
Thanks Daniel. I can't ask her because I'm not a paid subscriber. I think you are. Why not ask this important question.
Can't answer any of your challenging questions. I'm not a lawyer, however, I'm aware enough to ask the questions.
I do. Continually. Same for Joyce Vance.
Glad to hear it. Sorry, I didn't see your reply on the Contrarian. I read the comments which are a wealth of information.
Because 6 of them are paid off and have become judicial assassins for trimester.
The courts have no enforcement powers whatsoever. That's why Giuliani never paid those Georgia gals he defamed and why Trump has never paid E Jean Carroll.
Actually he did. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/trial-over-rudy-giulianis-florida-home-is-delayed-due-to-the-former-nyc-mayors-unexplained-absence
With a judgment creditors can execute on bank accounts, property, etc.
Who is impeding the course of justice? This regime.
The supreme court will Trumper stamp everything. They're bought.

To that point, I work in the human trafficking sector, which intersects with the stolen election(s) and has ties to Trump and Epstein—not to President Biden, Vice President Harris, or Governor Walz, but to the Democrats and other allied interests responsible for burying the audit.” — Adam Zarnowski, ex-CIA agent and author of Jörmungandr
https://thiswillhold.substack.com/p/ex-cia-whistleblower-the-nsa-audited
So your advice is DO NOTHING.
I suppose there's always rallying people and winning through defeatism.
That you default to defeatism tells me a lot.
I, my friend, am a warrior, not a defeatist.
“The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance—it is the illusion of knowledge.”
— Daniel J. Boorstin
I.E. MSM didn't report that Trump was booed yesterday in Queens,
All of MSM Daniel? No not all. Your bete noi MSNBC did report it on numerous programs.
BEFORE they even had the info on the audit. And it was a 5 minute squib.
"Numerous" is an exaggeration verging on more BULSHIT.
Keep hearing Queens has hated him for a long time.
Thank goodness most people have been getting their news elsewhere.
100% spot on!
