Wonderful, Honey Boo Boo in charge of elections. And having no better answer Trump made fun of Pritzker's weight, just like a 6th grader might. Of course he got that right back in his face. We just can't go on like this.

I'm waiting for the day soon, when another state's national guard tries to enter a state and they're met by that states guard and police, then turned right around and told to leave. Will there be armed stand-offs between state national guard troops and other state's troops at local air national guard airports and state run border checkpoints? Will American citizens be restricted from being able to cross state lines without being vetted?

Is this the beginning of a civil war between the loyalist red states and a authoritarian president and the defiant blue states?

Look how well that worked out for California. it's up to the unit commanders to decide to stand up to Trump or not. As we've seen with the firings of all of the generals and admirals, it may be left to the lower ranking officers on the ground to use their right under the UCMJ to say no to an unlawful order.

Newsom did not give his consent, Trump bypassed Newsom, broke the law, now he using troops from Red States whose governors have offered them up, and whose troops are sure to be screened and vetted for MAGA loyalty, just as the troops of the 82nd Airborne were carefully chose for Trump's Ft Bragg rally.

As regards the UCMJ, Hegseth fired all of the Judge Advocate Generals, who would be in the position to determine what orders were legal or unlegal.

Those generals that aren't sufficiently loyal to Trump or his Dominionist agenda have been fired or reassigned to irrelevant slots, the junior and staff officers are by and large careerist, looking for the promotion, and ready to kiss ass to get it.

And then there are the officers infected with the Dominionist virus, they acquired in Academy.

Let’s expose the fallacy: They scream about “election integrity,” but integrity doesn’t come from troops and vigilantes guarding ballot boxes. Integrity comes from transparency, rule of law, and trust in institutions. What Trump is building isn’t an election system; it’s a hostage situation with ballots.

The kicker? He has to do this. He’s cornered by his own crimes. The man knows that the second he loses power, subpoenas and prison walls are waiting. This is a survival project, not a political campaign. He’s holding democracy at gunpoint because without it, he’s just another aging con man with a rap sheet.

And here’s the conclusion you cannot ignore: If governors, mayors, and citizens don’t link arms now, the Rose Garden will be democracy’s graveyard. We need coalition, not cowardice. Courage, not hand-wringing. The Nixon lesson isn’t enough; this time, the bastard has Pete's military theater to keep him upright.

If you’re still treating this as partisan politics, you’re already lost. This is fascism with a flag pin, and the only antidote is mass resistance and relentless truth-telling. Get loud before you get silenced.

The prime objective should be to show how TRump is weak mentally, physically and politically. We just got some assistance from Prime Minister Modi of India. He is refusing to take his calls.

TRump took a bribe from Pakistan in the form of a crypto purchase. He spent endless weeks screwing with the tariff for India. And to add insult to injury, he then bragged to the world HE stopped the war between Pakistan and India. What a psychopath!

PM Modi just told his congress what he thinks of TRump, and they pounded their desks in approval. The liar and extortionist just burned that bridge. The flip side is last night Russian tankers destined for India and China were blown up by Ukrainian drones.

From yesterday: "The White House recently doubled U.S. import tariffs on goods from India to 50%, a punitive measure explicitly linked to New Delhi's substantial purchases of Russian oil. The policy appears to be having its intended effect, as shipments to the South Asian nation have cratered by more than 500,000 barrels a day over the past two months. In response, Indian refiners are reportedly making plans to trim their intake of Russian crude in the coming weeks, a concession to Washington's pressure.

"The financial toll on Moscow is becoming increasingly apparent. The gross value of Russia's crude exports tumbled by approximately $110 million, or 9%, to $1.11 billion in just one week. This was exacerbated by falling prices for Russia's key Urals grade, which hit its lowest point since mid-June."

I also know that Ukraine has perfected the ability to strike armament factories, refineries, pipelines and even ammunition factories inside of Russia. but the Ukrainian heroes that post these reports also know that it is going to take more than an economic problem to dislodge Putin.

Putin can keep up the war, to the last man and bullet, because to Russians people are meat, and he throws them into the meat grinder, untrained, insufficiently armed and poorly led, they aren't led but pushed into the jaws of death.

I can give a good argument to support this economic claim.

If you read about Vance's biography; you find that he is smart as hell. He may not be popular with the voters; but he is smart and capable; almost brilliant, ala Putin.

Vance has taken more vacations than any other V.P. He has spent that time outside the country where it is not likely he would be interviewed by an American journalist. This is not by chance; but on purpose. I can give another reason why his absence is purposeful. After Trump is dethroned; Vance can say that he never undermined Trump while Orange-face was in the office of president. After all; Vance was not in the country enough.

3 reasons Trump might be gone soon, dethroned:

1) Epstein revelations

2) 25th amendment as his behavior rapidly deteriorates before everyone's eyes

3) He dies of ill health as he deteriorates before our eyes

The 25th is a possibility but who will light the torch to the pyre? If it becomes so blatant that even MAGA sees the necessity of retiring him I'm sure they'll build a 100 foot tall statue of him, straddling Pennsylvania Avenue like some Colossus of Rhodes.

Blue state governors are commanders in chief of their national guards. They should disband the national guard, then create a State Militia and rehired the discharged guards, with same rank and service credit they had in the guard.

That way Trump can't federalize the guard.

When Faubus used the Arkansas National Guard to prevent the kids from enrolling in school (Brown v Board of Education). Eisenhower federalized them, then had them stand back, and sent in the 101st Airborne as guards for the kids to enroll and enter school.

Excellent points. Another thing is that he is activating the Guard in Title 32 status, which is status between being on state and fully mobilized Federal active duty. In this status they technically still belong to the states, but function under Federal authority. Troops in Title 32 are not bound by Posse Comitatas as are regular active duty soldiers. This effectively allows them to circumvent the Posse Comitatas limitations. This is incredibly dangerous.

Thanks, Padre. My governor, El Duce Desantis, sent our national guard to the border to "assist" Texas in its border security efforts and have been part of DeSantis's broader focus on immigration issues.

Key deployments include:

1. May 2023: DeSantis sent over 1,100 state law enforcement and National Guard members to the Texas border in support of Texas's Operation Lone Star.

2. February 2024: DeSantis announced the deployment of additional members of the Florida National Guard and the Florida State Guard to assist Texas in what he called an "invasion" at the border.

3. August 2025: As part of Florida's ongoing.

DeSantis's alleged authority to deploy the Florida National Guard and state law enforcement to assist border efforts in Texas is based on mutual-aid agreements.

1. Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC): This is a national emergency management and disaster-relief compact that allows states to provide mutual aid. Under EMAC, a requesting state (like Texas) can receive personnel and assets from a responding state (like Florida).

2. Texas authority: With such an agreement, Texas can grant Florida law enforcement officers and National Guard members the same powers within Texas borders as their own. state forces.

AI: DeSantis's out-of-state deployments have faced legal and constitutional questions.

1. Federal law and state guards: Critics argue that using a state guard outside of its home state is illegal under federal law, which states that these forces "may be used within the jurisdiction concerned".

2. Balance of powers: Lawsuits and legal challenges have questioned whether governors are overstepping their authority in an area typically under federal jurisdiction, challenging the balance of power between state and federal governments.

3. Political motives: Opponents also criticize the deployments as political stunts, funded by taxpayer money, that are intended to challenge federal immigration policies rather than address legitimate emergencies.

Actually, there are few constraints on the President. Title 32 Active Duty is not true Federal mobilization. That would be under Title 10, and even then, under Title 10 the Guard can be mobilized without the permission of the states. The Guard is part of the Army’s total package. Its funding, equipment and training are all Federal. I served in the Guard about 8 years of my career. I also served in the Regular Army, and the Army Reserve, and retired from the Regular Navy. The soldiers remain under the state and are not fully federalized, it is a real gray area that Congress should have addressed years ago. Read my article in the link and the references.
