As an 84 year old great grandmother, having lived through the McCarthy era, civil rights movement, Vietnam protests, I am more terrified by this Trump movement than all past troubled times this country has lived through. While I try to remain hopeful, it is increasingly more difficult. Along with many of you out there, I live in a constant state of dread. I will be part of the No Kings protest Saturday in my own small community. It’s a small act of protest, but important nonetheless. Hoping for a massive turnout 🤞.

Now that the opposition leaders have set the stage (hate rally, left wing extremism etc.). The No Kings leaders need to watch out for infiltrators intent on causing harm.

The privacy of these so called republican Nazis must be eliminated now . Everyone in this world should know their addresses and their faces. Let them hide out like the humans they so easily vilify. Let them see what playing with social media can and will do to their futures. They must be made to pay for their “casual” treason. Ask them what they are missing in their “underpants”? No grown up man with a solid sense of “self” needs to terrorize others. Shame them, fire them arrest them for crippling our freedom!

NOW ,,, that we as adults put up with this proves one thing… we are not adults. We are ALL bullies???????

Daniel,

I don’t know where you hang out. But nothing I have experienced in locker rooms comes close to this un-regulated fear mongering.

The social media platforms are probably immune. Indiiduals who make terroristic threats are vulnerable.

Probably no different than the patter in country club locker rooms.

I've always heard right-wingers using the n-word, because they see race as a hierarchy critical to civilization. But this positive framing of Hitler is more recent, probably because those who directly experienced WWII are almost all dead now. What's really shocking is not just that young Republicans talk this way, but that they clearly think this way, and they are on the threshold of being in power.

I was born in January of 1948. My grandparents lived with us. I can remember the conversations about the Holocaust in our Jewish household. It's some of my first memories reawakened as Herr Trump started his first campaign. Hearing him talk about the people Mexico sent over the border and the fake media. I have now read enough to know how Hitler started his rampage through Europe. I have been posting almost from the beginning, the signs that were popping up. Then, when he won the second term, I became terrified even more. Now he is doing exactly what I foresaw, and it's how are we going to stop him?????????????????????????????

Old Politics With New Tech.....

The WORST, and still Republicans will defend this MAGA scum. As we speak-out about the ideas, language and the people spreading it, their pundits say WE are hateful. Propaganda and bullshit day after day now.

The information gathering is on steroids. TRump has changed the Threat Screening Center to the Terrorist Screening Center. It's close to DC. They are monitoring for Anti-American, Anti-Christian, Anti-Capitalism language. Well, Politico just provided some of the worst. Any WWII vet could have explained the consequences of these conversations to the fascists and psychos in this Administration.

Let's get out there and tell America and the world on Saturday. My sign: No Nazis No Kings! See you in the streets.

I'm not suprised. A lot of the same crap is in the open. I could never understand why HRC and Biden did not sue defamers.Make them object lessons.

Those who defame someone should be sued.

Those who are public officials have probably violated ethics rules.

Unfortunately, I rely on Oxygen, but I will be at the Lakeland No Kings in spirit! Take care, all. I am afraid we may get Trumpers trying to disrupt.

Several years ago, I attended a middle school assembly in which Irene Miller, a holocaust survivor, spoke. Trump was running for his first term. I asked Irene if now in America there was a similarity to Germany in the 1930s. At first she did not answer. Then, she said very quietly, "It is the same." It is worse now!

Americans pay attention to what they are told. They are told that ICE is getting the killers and drug dealers off the streets. Too bad if a few innocent people are dumb enough to be in close proximity and get caught up in the sweep. They are told that a tough and decisive leader is needed to police a country which has strayed away from law, order, patriotism, and God. Do they even know what the "unitary executive" is about or that people in powerful positions fervently believe that a CEO president is what those influential people want, meaning that divided power is obsolete and the rule book must be rewritten and enforced with brutal discipline? Good Americans learned early and well that you listen to the teacher and do not follow the rowdy kids who disrupt the class and mock authority. They learned that obedience, compliance, attendance, silence, and staying in your seat were the things which define a good citizen. They are listening to Sean Hannity and J.D. Vance. They are angry about those troublemakers who are causing the teacher in the Oval Office to crack down on everyone. They feel safer when punishment is being administered effectively, even if it is indiscriminate. It's a good thing we have laws which set up the rules and the structure to force citizens to learn proper behavior. After all, we all have to take orders from a boss if we want a paycheck, do we not? Heaven help us.

I would say far too many people are unconcerned for their neighbors. ICE is asking kids for ID who are riding bikes as I did. I never had any ID as a kid. I got a school ID in High School so I could be identified as a student and allowed free access to the football games. What exactly about liberal Jesus? Can Repubs want God to remove his protection from the Earth and allow her to swallow up those that refuse to feed those in need that live around them? Abram would not eat without making sure those in need did not go without. Better to not eat that day than take the chance the Earth would take vengeance for not sharing in the Earths abundance. If those of hate want such a vengeful world God can allow it, you can be sure real quick such unrighteous behavior would come to an end. Hateful people need to learn life is important for all and not just their tribe.

Thom,

I’ve been aware of this recurring scenario since I was a young man. In 1970 I read Gary Allen’s NONE DARE CALL IT CONSPIRACY. The core of the book is summed up in the paragraph below. The names have changed, not the historical repetition.

“Founding Fathers believed that each branch of the government, whether at the federal, state or local level, would be jealous of its powers and would never surrender them to centralized control. Also, many phases of our lives (such as charity and education) were put totally, or almost totally, out of the grasp of politicians. Under this system you could not have a dictatorship. No segment of government could possibly amass enough power to form a dictatorship. In order to have a dictatorship one must have a single branch holding most of the reins of power. Once you have this, a dictatorship is inevitable.”

This book used to be the purview of the republicans. As you say, not any more. In that book Gary Allen identifies the sources of the tyranny, the morbidly rich. 55 years later and Allen’s fears are coming to pass. At the time he was labeled a nut-wad conspiracy theorist. And the book seemed to disappear. I still have it.

Yes, we need to be activists. We need 50 million people protesting. We were warned and in the past we didn’t listen. We better be listening and acting, now!

Funny, not really, that when I spoke up at all-staff meeting yesterday, not one other co-worker spoke up. This wasn't getting into comments about the dangers of the regime directly. It was about "reverse Robinhood" and how the "little guy" is made to suffer. Nobody. I have had the temerity to say something more directly about the regime before. Nothing.
