Not to be argumentative, but I think this has all been made possible by the monumental betrayal of Chief Justice John Roberts and his Federalist fellows on the Supreme Court, aided by Mitch McConnell and an equally corrupt Republican Party. If democracy is to survive, our nation will need an epic decontamination.

Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has called on the U.S. to take bolder steps against Putin, stating that "Russia is the aggressor here".

Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has called Putin a "war criminal who should be in jail for life, if not executed".

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has often called Putin a "thug" and a "war criminal" and pushed for Russia to be designated a state sponsor of terrorism.

Representative Mike Turner (R-Ohio), a senior member of the House Intelligence Committee, stated that "you can't be America First and pro-Russia, because Russia is a self-declared adversary of the United States".

Support for Strong Sanctions and Ukraine Aid: Many Republicans have advocated for "bone-crushing" sanctions and significant military aid to Ukraine, often criticizing the

Trump administration for a lack of urgency or for being too lenient with Putin.

Senator Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) argued it is "irrational" not to pass strong sanctions to send a clear message to Putin.

Some Republicans, such as Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.), have expressed concern that recent peace negotiation efforts have risked treating Putin better than Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.

And yet there is no movement. Why is that?

I am reminded of the TV series Brain Dead, starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Laurel

Laurel knows the U.S. governmental system has its issues, but when she starts her first job on Capitol Hill, she quickly learns things are much further gone than she realized. Washington, D.C., has been invaded by aliens that have come to Earth and are dining on the the brains of a growing number of Congressmen and staffers, bringing operations to a standstill, and it's up to her to figure out what exactly is going on and stop it.

Tulsi Gabbard is an obvious Russian Asset, much evidence that Trump is an asset code named Krasnov.

Other countries have come to recognize the fact, especially Denmark

The goal, and Trump is simply a vessel in this regard, is a Technate of America stretching from Greenland down to Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, which just so happens to be the three South American countries Trump is warring against.

See map here: https://digital.library.cornell.edu/catalog/ss:34227574, and scary part this is not a new map, it is the Technocracy Movement, founded in the 1930's

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technocracy_movement

The map could have been easily dismissed as a pipe dream, but not in light of recent events

Incidentally the White House put up 51 Xmas trees, one for every state (Canada?)

Thom: Is Trump’s Embrace of Russia the Greatest Betrayal in American History?

Ans. I think so. The issue for me is where are the Congressional Republican Cold Warriors?

We should have put pressure on them.

Trump is clearly a puppet. Notwithstanding his denial when Clinton accused Trump of being a puppet of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump quickly interrupted her, repeating “No puppet. No puppet” and then countering with “You’re the puppet."

He is "Playing in our face." [not trying to hide the fact that he is Krasnov, Dr. No, and Goldfinger rolled into one exhaustingly evil moron of a spy.]

We are a client state. A vassal state. We are the dog being wagged by that pan-faced dickhead in the Kremlin. [pan, not pale, though there is that, too]

Where is tail-gunner Joe* when we really need him?

V-O-T-E !!! Before Putin makes Bubba's orally fixated boyfriend, aka Donald, disallow it.

* Joseph McCarthy was a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin (1947–1957), best known for leading anti-Communist investigations during the early Cold War, a period now called “McCarthyism."

Racism is a core tenet of the political Right, along with making the world safe for corporate plunder. Europe being considered a continent, separated from Asia only by a line of low mountains, has more to do with race than physical barriers, like oceans. Why is Whiteness so much more important to Trump than rightness--democratic principles, human rights?

Authoritarians often conspire with other authoritarians against their own people. The Soviet Union had an authoritarian political component under communism but a socialist economic component. Russia under Putin has discarded the socialist economic component but kept the authoritarian political component.

The authoritarian Republicans never objected to the authoritarian political component of the Soviet system, only the socialist economic component. It was only a matter of time before authoritarian Republican politicians allied with the authoritarians in Russia.

Unfortunately this authoritarian alliance is part of a worldwide web of authoritarianism and comes at a time of unparalleled wealth inequality and anthropogenic climate change instability, both of which are going to destabilize societies around the globe.

Certainly feels as if they are ramping it ALL up - Project 2025 in concert with the "tech bros" and the putin assets are now moving at an accelerated pace, perhaps as they can feel the walls closing in? Or the sundowning of their puppet in chief? While always at breakneck speed, it's coming faster, and more furious. No doubt in my mind, the actions towards declaring war with Venezuela are to serve many purposes, including creating an environment "to gut civil rights in America and imprison the people he sees as his 'threats' or political enemies." Yesterday's DOJ Memo made that very clear.

The guardrails we were able to fall back on during tRump 1.0 were all removed early on in preparation for exactly what we are seeing today.

It's all getting worse, by the day, and will continue to get even worse without some serious pushback from the media and persons in Congress, and that is not happening. We have but a few that are actually speaking out, sounding the alarms - such as Sen. Chris Murphy. It's not nearly enough.

Thank you again, Thom, for making this five alarm fire crystal clear. You are a treasure.

This looks like the division of the world as envisioned by Orwell in "1984". Russia gets a free hand in Europe, China in Taiwan at least, and the U.S. in Latin America. And everybody loots Africa, as discussed in the December 1st "New Yorker" article on the endless Congo wars, "Dangerous Neighbors".

Of course it's not an exact match to what was predicted--for example, India has its own power center (in competition with China throughout the Indian Ocean). But we're definitely going back to an imperialistic 19th century world with big power "spheres of influence". Trump is entirely about transactions, not ideals. (Oh, and take a look at his image on the "Gold Card" that he wants to sell to the richest people who desire U.S. residency. It's pretty sick.)

Oceania is the Technate of Americahttps://digital.library.cornell.edu/catalog/ss:34227574

Eurasia is Europe, Russia , west and mid Asia under Russian control, East Asia is allof east Asia and the Western Pacific.

The Mid East and North Africa belong to the Muslijms, who can fight over it, and the global south will be fought over by all to exploit for natural resources.

I am not describing the future, I am describing the present.

Hadn’t thought about the Islamic world, but it is so fragmented by sects and ethnic groups that I expect different parts will go with the various big power blocks. That Technate is interesting, though it is hard to see most Americans accepting such overt control. Maybe something closer to the original (1975) “Rollerball” in which big corporations control various territories might be more likely. After all, that has long been the situation in the so-called “Banana Republics” which actually exist in many parts of the Third World. Incidentally another look at the future was Heinlein’s excellent novella, “If This Goes On—“, which imagines a Christian fascist America isolated from the world. The details, down to the slang, are excellent. And terrifying.

Eugene Debs, the socialist political leader was imprisoned by Wilson for speaking out against the US entering WWI. Debs still received 3.4% of the vote when he ran for president from prison.

FDR was president when people of Japanese descent were put in camps during WWII. If you are unfamiliar with this I urge you to look it up, there is too much to include here.

Mark, we are familiar with the Internment of Japanese, but that does not mean he used war to gut civil rights. Wilson did, yes, Wilson was a racist, Roosevelt wasn't, at least his wife wasn't and she pretty much ran him.

Yeh John, I am surprised that Thom would say that Roosevelt used war to gut civil rights.

Wilson was a racist. Roosevelt, not. There was the internment of Japanese, but that was at the pressure and behest of Americans and the politicians. That was in the days when the President actually listened to the public.

"They" have lost the plot.....

The more TRump calls our Russia Russia Russia assessment of his betrayal of the United States a hoax, the more we know it is true. That's how it works with a psychopath that is trying to gas-light a whole nation.

The independent media is just beginning to "get" it. The world is to be carved-up into spheres of influence with technology as means to do it. That's exactly what the chips to China is about.

Thom has the plot figured out. IHIP, Meidas Touch, and Secular Talk on their YouTube channels have it as well. World War III is being fought within our borders. Same holds true for the Europeans. The TechBros, TRump, and Putin are crazy, literally. We are going to stop them if we can define the plot. Thanks Thom. See you in the streets.
