— Does Trump Continue to Pose an ‘Unprecedented’ Threat to Democracy? A coalition of progressive groups have issued an open letter to Congress, the White House, prosecutors, state lawmakers and the public warning that America must, in a united fashion, “respond to the ongoing legitimization of political violence and invocation of the pardon power to defend insurrectionists.” Speaking for multiple organizations including Public Citizen, MoveOn, Stand Up America, and the Digital Democracy Project, they warn: “Neither Congress nor the courts nor the White House can afford to slumber while the threat of authoritarianism grows and festers in the open. … The U.S. government must not allow conspirators at any level of government to evade accountability for subversion, sedition, or inciting an armed insurrection to try to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power.” They even went so far to call out Trump himself as an agent of terrorism: “Trump's public rhetoric
increases the threat of stochastic terrorism—’lone wolf’ attacks—or ‘protests’ that could escalate into mob violence like we saw on January 6th.” Spot on. Let your elected officials know if you agree.
— Fear Is the Point for the GOP. First a Baptist pastor — if such reprobates should be called “pastor” — proclaimed, “I hope every single homosexual dies.” Now Republicans in Florida are pushing legislation to allow parents to sue schools and teachers if a teacher mentions anything that might be considered positive about LGBTQ issues, including questions children may have about about their own gender identity issues.
