Just about anything Donald does is a scam!

Larry Bushard's avatar

Nah. Everything he does is a scam!

Gordon Berry's avatar

Thank you! What isn't?

Everything he does is a scam, and he’s figured out how to make money off being president. Mary Trump, Donald’s niece, has stated she believes Trump regards the U.S. Treasury as his personal piggy bank. He’s stealing whatever he thinks he can get.

In my inbox:

Daniel, disgraced ex-reality star and convicted felon, Donald Trump is suing the United States government for billions of dollars.

Who’s on the other side of the courtroom, defending our tax dollars against Trump’s legally baseless personal cash grab?

You guessed it: President Donald Trump. The case is called Trump v. IRS – but the IRS reports up to him, so he’s literally playing both sides!

I’d be laughing… if it weren’t so deeply wrong. We can’t trust a President who spent the past year getting rich at your expense to defend us against his own lawsuit!

That’s why Common Cause is taking legal action. This afternoon, we filed a brief on behalf of our one million-plus members, taxpayers who need a government that defends our interests in court, not Donald Trump’s. [1]

And we’re backed up by a group of former IRS officials who are committed to the rule of law – a particularly brave act given how the President treats those who cross him publicly.

We’ve got a strong case: our justice system is supposed to have two sides making their best arguments – then we let the court decide. When both sides are working for the same person, then anyone who trusts the outcome is burying their head in the sand.

Don’t just take our word for it. Trump himself pointed out how absurd this is, wondering aloud how he’s “supposed to work out a settlement with myself.” [2]

Daniel, I think that’s a great question for the court!

We’re already stretching our legal resources to their limit. We’re battling in court to stop Trump’s DOJ from stealing your private voter data in 15 states and Washington D.C., to reverse rigged voting maps in North Carolina, and to block state laws meant to disenfranchise naturalized citizens.

But here’s what’s at stake if we lose or stay silent: Donald Trump – and anyone else who gains his favor – could sue our government for as much as they want. Then, the U.S. government will pay them off with our money while they laugh all the way to the bank.

If we let that kind of blatant corruption become “business as usual,” this will no longer be the kind of country I want to live in. We cannot normalize this sort of self-dealing or let this president make a joke out of our justice system.

We’ll be in touch as this case moves through the courts – but as one of the million-plus members who power everything we do, I wanted you to be the first to hear that we’ve taken action.

Thanks for all you do,

The team at Common Cause

P.S. Our lawsuit happened because ordinary folks like you from across the country are chipping in what they can to make it possible. If you agree this is a fight worth taking on – and want Common Cause to keep showing up when it counts – can you help with a contribution today?

Yes Mary has made many statements regarding her family and due to her credentials and familial connections I tend to find some credible.

I am not a trained psychologist nor psychiatrist or any other type of clinician, but reading Trump’s mind is not a credible claim to a diagnosis. Because she ‘believes’ as in the transitive verb ‘I believe Donald thinks the treasury is his own bank’ is not a credible diagnosis of fact. I have seen many statements where Mary writes ‘I believe…’ regarding Donald and the rest of her family.

I believe in

When it comes to her own father’s role in the Trump family and she places blame on other family members for his issues and demise-she makes comments that are biased. When you are a family member one is blind to the facts.

There is tremendous power in the word believe is central to religions discussions and reflects intellectual and emotional faith.

Ruben Gallego's call for a general strike in November, "if", is a day late and dollar short, there should have been one 9 months ago, and every day that passes, makes it more impossible to be effective. The noose of totalitarianism is being drawn around our throats and tightened.

Two steps forward, 1/2 step back. La rana está siendo hervida.

We were SUPPOSED to have had a national work stoppage last Friday, requested by many organizations. The National Shutdown (also known as "ICE Out") is led by a decentralized coalition of grassroots, labor, and student organizations. The movement originated from the University of Minnesota (UMN).

The most recent and significant events include:

-January 30–31 (National Shutdown): Organized by the 50501 Movement and the University of Minnesota student groups, this was a nationwide "day of action". It featured a National Shutdown on Friday, Jan. 30, with a "no work, no school, no shopping" boycott, followed by street protests on Saturday, Jan. 31.

-February 6 Walkouts: Just yesterday, a new wave of student-led national walkouts occurred in cities like Louisville and Atlanta to continue demanding the withdrawal of ICE from Minnesota.

-Ongoing Tech Boycott: As of today, February 7, a growing boycott targeting Big Tech (like Uber, Amazon, and Netflix) is being promoted to pressure companies to stop collaborating with federal immigration agencies.

All of the Dem organizations and profressives should be on the same page.

I still think we should concentrate on pressuing Congressional Republicans.

Two of our 3 MAGA House members here in Baghdad By the Sea have brioken with Trump on immigration. All politics is (and are) local.

I still think if we pressure Congressional REPUBLICANS who represent Minnesota, Los Angeles, Chicago, Springfield, Ohio, and Portland, Maine, we can stop it.

I also think that the Epstein issue is the best way to get Republican support. Trump fell apart at the prayer breakfast, attacking MAGA who oppose him on Epstein.

So you believe that a few Republicans that deviate from the party line on a single issue, because of their constituency will move the needle, when they stand with the party and Trump on all other issues.?

It would be great if the Epstein files moved the needle, but they haven't and they won't. Only half of the files have been release, and those heavily redacted,, and the Attorney General of the United States, ignores subpoenas, and defies congressional contempt of congress, because the only agency, the only person, that can enforce the actions are herself. Is she going to arrest herself., is she going to enforce any judgement against her.

There are three ways of getting rid of Trump, and he is not going to leave in 2029, except on a gurney and then we will have Vance.

1. By an election, and I know that you are paying attention, and the wheels are in motion to steal the election.

2. By a total collapse of the economy, bankruptcy, massive unemployment, depression and runaway inflation (both are possible at the same time)

3. An uprising, not just a two or three day boycott or general strike.

.

William Farrar's avatar

Again, dispute me. Where am I wrong?

Am I wrong about election interference and stealing.

Consider all that have done, and all they are doing,. Am I wrong.

What are the alternatives.? Civil suits? What issues will survive the process. survive the Supreme Court.

As of February 7, 2026, one of the latest high-profile appeals rejected via the Supreme Court's "shadow docket" (emergency docket) was the request by California Republicans and the Trump administration to block a new Democratic-leaning congressional map in California, which was denied on February 4, 2026. .

Was that really a victory? If they ruled for the Republicans they would have backed themselves into a corner and have to rule against Republican redistricting.

SCOTUS ruled that the President couldn't fire a member of the Federal Reserve Board, for one thing it is a private for profit corporation, but also if he could fire and replace the board at his discretion as it would have a deleterious effect on the economy and the full faith and credit of the nation, as well as the Judges private investments and holdings.

Talking of Epstein files. I'm watching a discussion on Velshi, about the Epstein files.

They read some emails, and Bondi redacted the names of the Senders, and while the perps names are redacted , thousands of files taken down after victims identified

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn0k65pnxjxo

Bondi has refused to release over three million documents and no one can make her.

The files will not take down the rich and powerful, because they are rich and powerful.

Musk and Lutnik were exposed and as liars, yet there they stand, still.

The only consequence to date is Stripping Andrew Mountbatten indsor of his title and appointments, but he is still living the life of a privileged royal his latest abode

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has moved out of the Royal Lodge in Windsor and is living on the King's private Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England. He is currently residing at Wood Farm Cottage on the estate while a more permanent, smaller home, likely Marsh Farm, is prepared.

Marsh "Farm" https://www.vanityfair.com/style/story/andrew-mountbatten-windsor-marsh-farm-home?srsltid=AfmBOooIAO00mhdUiNjq4bZJwfSQ2A6OSUxGWEzFRasRWV3VCu2etriV

Might as well be, if we don't see more files, and unredacted at that

Donald Trump is the triumph of ignorance. It is the war against facts, science, knowledge, education and anything resembling normalcy. When Americans elected Donald Trump president, the United States went not only criminal, but stupid. The fact that millions of Americans still support this travesty of a human being indicates that ignorance in the United States is still on a roll.

Gordon Berry's avatar

We need to remove all aspects of "the triumph" before the next election...

Daniel Solomon's avatar

Note that he shows up in the Epstein files.

What does he know and when did he know it?

William Farrar's avatar

Who doesn't show up in the Epstein files, even liberals and Democrats, like Noam Chomsky, Bill Clinton, Alan Dershowitz.

If the full unredacted files actually are fully release, a lot of powerful and prominent men, Democrat, Republican, conservative, liberal are going to be exposed.

Whether the exposure will bring them down, is another question, so far those that have been exposed have not paid the price.

It is not only Epstein in the files, refocus our energy on others, as well.

Daniel Solomon's avatar

In case you were not aware -- presumed innocent, not guilty until convicted. All should have to account.

William Farrar's avatar

Not talking about the law, talking of public image and guilt by association.

You are known by the company you keep. In fact Government pursues RICO cases on that basis.

However you just mounted a defense for Trump, did you know that. on other hand I am using guilt by association.

Guilt by association hasn't hurt Trump to date, especially with his base.

Daniel Solomon's avatar

" In fact Government pursues RICO cases on that basis."

You are incredibaly ignorant.

William Farrar's avatar

LOL, read my comment again. That is exactly what I said.

Also I negated your innocent until proven guilty claim, guilt by association, the grounds for RICO., you don't have to prove guilt only association.

Edit added: You quoted me,..

So what you are saying that RICO is not guilt by association.. Seems to me that I recall that a lot of people have been put away,

because the prosecution could prove that the perp was associated with the commission of a crime, not because he actually committed the crime.

Depicting Michelle and Barrack Obama as gorillas should have generated outrage from both parties for trump to resign. But given our current state of affairs its just another disgusting antic to be forgotten in a few news cycles. That he is allowed to continuously do things like this is proof of system failure. Failure of the elected and appointed members of our federal government, failure of our justice system, failure of mass media to hold him accountable. Consequently, in my opinion, there remains only one remedy, massive nationwide demonstrations. If enough people vent their anger it will force government, courts and media to act in accordance with the will of the people. Do enough people care enough is the question.

Hasn't played out yet.

The xenophobia that Trump's toadies are promoting here and in Europe is old-fashioned racist NIMBY-ism on a global scale. Fear and hate, divide and conquer. This is a "culture" that deserves to be diluted.

1. On Liam and deportations: I think we should all contribute to a fund that will distribute cute bunny hats, or another of choice, to every child in every ICE "surged" invaded state. Let the adorable pictures flood the media, and tug at (most) poeple's hearts.

2. Lets not forgot that Donald was raised at the knee of draft-dodger dad Fred who was arrested for marching in a KKK march in NYC. Why, whenever his cut off of funding is because of "illegal DEI initiatives" is this obvious racism called out?

3. And they reported that someone's dog voted. Is a pawprint legal? Better than an X

4. As dangerous as Trump and his minions are, I maintain that RFK Jr. is more immediately dangerous not simply to liberty, but to life (ICE murders not withstanding). Why isn't the measles outbreak covered extensively and regularly?

5. Thank you for the explanation of TrumpRX -- I knew it had to be a scam, but was afraid to go on myself for then I would be inundated to mail from him.

6. A lawyer for the Gateway project called it a "Tunneltantrum". Hey, he was only joking...he and Chuck always have a good time together.

I do agree that Trump RX is a negligible band-aid on a systemic issue--really just a manufacturer's version of GoodRX (and many medications are still not "affordable" even though they are discounted). You touted a similarly timid and ineffective program that was introduced by Biden which allowed Medicare to negotiate the prices of TEN medications to reduce patient costs. That's ten out of 20000 medications prescribed in the US, it doesn't even fully go into effect for years, and by that time several of the drugs will have gone generic. Both parties are finding ways to placate the health care conglomerates who pay their way while making it seem as if they are taking action about an unaffordable and inaccessible health care system. Meanwhile pharmaceutical companies just raise prices on other medications including generics to compensate for any losses. Nothing will change in any meaningful way until the financial engine for the health care system is us pooling our resoures in partnership with our government through a single-payer system. Unfortunately as our government is wholly owned by corporate America and is not ours at all I'm not certain how such a drastic change will take place. https://barryjkaufmando.substack.com/p/no-democrats-its-not-republicans

What is about J. D. Vance that brings him to Europe so often? Yesterday he was soundly booed by the crowd in Cortina d’Ampezzo at the opening of the Winter Olympics. The other week he was in Davos chiding Europe for its defence of Greenland; and before that he was in Munich warning Europe of its “civilisational erasure”. In between he visited the Cotswolds in the UK for his holidays where he was only marginally more popular than Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is in his new abode on the Royal estate of Sandringham. When did an American vice-president ever come to Europe so often? And to a place that he so evidently despises? It doesn’t make sense. Why doesn’t he go to the Ozarks and those other places in middle America where he can be sure not to bump into a single European?

Kathy, why do you like my comment?

I find those who send likes are disingenuous - only like to send a coded time stamp of your personal opinion judging me - it is a universally used code which is the same as a verbal judgement.

Somewhere along the line all of you people have joined in on this two decades of 24/7 surveillance as though it is an okay thing to stalk, terrorize and slander me with no way way for me to take anyone to court.

So it is not just Trump and MAGA’s who have crossed the line. Of course throughout history righteous individuals and dictators have operated in such a system. I saw the damage that the Stasi did in the GDR to society when I lived in East Germany post die Wende.
