Every Republican’s registration should be challenged on the basis of having multiple homes and we assume they are double voting as Bush’s research shows that it was the republicans double voting.
My sense is that Hakeem Jeffries believes his primary responsibility is fundraising, but he’s best at making me yell at the TV. Someone should let him know that many of us are reluctant to throw good money after bad. Want to drum up some bucks? Turn AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Jamie Raskin, etc. loose. They understand the need to fight, are willing to do it, and can deliver effective punches better than anyone in “leadership”. Chuck should follow Mitch out the door. He’s a disfunctional, counterproductive embarrassment.
I was really hoping Biden would use the new Imperial Powers given to him, to take actions on T running illegitimately, or the Russian involvement including the Bomb threats and Musk, or ???? But instead there's a amazing display of polite normalcy as he handed the Government over to Fascism. Jefferies isn't up to the task under these circumstances.
I also am tired of democrats disarming themselves. In the months before elections democratic nominees should say repeatedly without being asked that they will accept the results of the elections only when the provisional ballots have been counted and all other challenges have had time to be resolved.
I am with you Bo I have never got over my disgust of Kamala conceding at 4:)M EST on Nov 6th as results were still coming on. It as if she couldn't wait to concede, now she is forming a non profit, well she can go fish.. I've had it.
The Democrats knew the score: Trump was going to win, no matter their messaging or fighting used to try to beat him. They didn't even try. They learned that the first time, he won—with the support of the oligarchy billionaires who fashioned his win. This began a long time ago when the neocons and Russian operatives fed Trump's ego. He began to think he liked their admiration and that nothing but the president would suit him—just as they planned.
This is like my brother-in-law on a farm in Burnips, Michigan, whose ego has been stroked for the bidding of the same people. He is responsible for destroying my vacation in December of 2023 in Switzerland, where these types of individuals infiltrated my trip and killed it. While I was there, I wasted around $5,000.00 to hear about how Gene Heasley, my brother-in-law, a Fox News-addicted individual, had sabotaged my vacation. No brain fart there, William. It was a plan well in advance, and the tour was populated with specific individuals, which ruined my vacation - the only one in years.
They also filled Gene's mind with personal information regarding my husband and me. During our first 20 years of marriage, we talked constantly about subjects we loved: literature, horseback riding, gardening, birding, theater, etc. Then the surveillance years started, and he was not supportive that it existed; I began to withdraw conversationally. However, his brother, Gene, was aware of this but chose an insidious way to deceive his brother.
I thought about your comment Carol, and it makes sense, If you think of politics as a business.
McDonalds,well that is the Republicans
Burger King, that is the Democrats.
They struggle for fist place, market dominance, but even though McDonalds is leading the market, BK has to stay in the fight, because Corporate has income, jobs, bonuses, and franchises employ little people.

The political parties are corporations. Non profit corporations, and as such they provide jobs, income, notoriety, celebrity status for people, politicians and employees, officers, anaylsts, strategists, spokesperson.
The Democratic party is on the verge of becoming extinct, but it can't be allowed to become extinct, the powers that be need a loyal opposition, to maintain the facade of legitimacy as the peoples voice.
There won't be a National Socialist or a Communist Party, not immediately.
Communist Russia, disintegrated from within because of Stalin's isolationism.
Lenin and Trosky vied for leadership of communism. Trotsky was an internationalist, he wanted to spread the revolution throughout the world.
Stalin was an isolationist, Russia was is base of power, and he saw trying to expand the ideology as weakening and a threat to his power.
Hitler was an absolutist, there was no countervailing power, once he eradicated it and kept the population under control with the GESTAPO and SD, and he needed to expand, constantly for resources and to keep his people distracted and united.
Absolutists, authoritarians, need an enemy, it keeps the people distracted, and at war with and suspicious of each other.
Stalin's enemy was within, then without, Hitlers was within and then without, but ultimately always from within.
Take a lesson from Rome, Rome was militant, aggressive, expandent, its source of wealth was slaves, it fed itself on the wheat from Egypt and the produce and resources like copper, tin, gold and silver from it's conquest, then it ran against a boundary that resisted expansion, in part because of the leadership was corrupt, soft, incompetent and the people were fat, content and lazy.
Rome was disintegrating long before Alaric knocked on the gates., his was the coup d'grace
In 451 CE Flavius Aetius halted the Huns at the battle of the Catalaunian fields, as his reward the Emperor Vaentian III, had him murdered out of fear and jealousy, 4 years later Valentian died, and on his death the Vandals attacked Rome and that was the end of the western empire, the eastern empire lived on in Constantinople, but it too was rotted from within, by a string of incompetent and jealous emperors
Constantinople fell to the Turks, not because of the cannons built by the Hungarian https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orban (probably the ancestor of the current Hungarian dictator).
It fell because a disgruntled citizen showed the Turks a secret entrance.

Because the Democrats are "led" by a bunch of castrati. Is there a more apt image than Chuck Schumer (D-Tel Aviv) waving his arms and pretending to be inspirational.
Add Jeffries to the list of stinging disappointments. I’m not listing here but the Democratic Senators who voted for even ONE of Trump’s clown show of cabinet nominees is almost painful to get through. Amy Klobuchar, Reuben Gallegos, John Fetterman (the worst primary choice I’ve made. Insult to injury, my good friend and politically active Dr warned me about Fetterman, wish I’d listened). Many voted for more than one of Trump’s obviously corrupt, unqualified candidates.
Call these Senators, often. I call the White House every Tuesday and Thursday. I leave a message for the POTUS with the nice lady and call my traitor senators, both corrupt one term only if I have anything to say about it.
There are too many politicians with primary loyalties to something other than the people who voted for them, be it technocrats, theocrats, religions, corporations, financial institutions.
And then there are those that do nothing until it is election season.
Very disappointed with dems except for my senator Whitehouse and Connecticut senator Murphy who has been quite vocal about our current situation with trump and his allies.
I too am deeply disappointed with Fetterman. Possibly his stroke did a lot of damage. Sadly Marsha Blackburn represents me in Congress though I have never voted for her.
Thank you for contacting me regarding the war in Ukraine. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.
Russia is a cancerous, evil regime that threatens our national security by attempting to control as much of Europe and Eurasia as it can. It also supports the regimes in Iran, Communist China, Cuba, and Venezuela. All of them continually seek to harm the United States and force us into a position of dependence upon them for our livelihood. Vladimir Putin’s unjustifiable and unlawful invasion of Ukraine is just one more example of this fact. I believe that the United States must continue to stand strongly with Ukraine and provide the lethal military aid it needs to win this war. Putin’s murderous attacks are a threat to our national security and the security of our democratic allies.
While we must continue to support democracy in Ukraine, I will not allow Russia’s unjust invasion to deprioritize or slow progress on solving urgent domestic issues such as securing the border, fighting inflation and rebuilding our national defense. Congress can continue to act and solve these issues, which we owe to the American people.
As Florida’s U.S. Senator, and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I will continue fighting for allies around the world, while also ensuring we take care of our families here at home. I am proud to represent every citizen in Florida and I appreciate the time you took to provide your position on this matter. Should you have any additional questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
Ms. Livolsi, I agree with your assessment of Klobuchar, Gallego, and that empty head Fetterman. But it is a waste of effort to try to replace them. Ditch the whole party.
I know this is a minority view, but I want Trump to saddle himself with nothing but unqualified, incompentent duds.
I've been sayin that we have a window of opportunity to get Congressional Republicans to coperate re Ukraine. I've published the letter Rick Scott sent me. Wicker, McConnell, Tillis and other have said the same.
And,"When they go low we go high".What bullshit, the plaint of a loser.
The real leaders in the Democratic party are held down by the fat cat losers. Pelosi, Schumer, Jeffries.
Take a look at the losers list, of those that approved Trump's appointees, there are seven consistent names, And every Democrat voted to approve Marco Rubio who has proven to be a spineless, ass kissing traitor.
Hakeem Jeffries stood on the steps and complained "we don't have leverage" .
Yes we do Hakeem, the leverage is the nay vote and obstrucionism. The budget and debt ceiling bill can't get through without democrat help, it will hurt, to obstruct, but obstruct we must it is the only way to save our country.
Whatever Congress approves will only help Trump and his co Emperor/wife Elon
No, it's not at all funny. I'm Jewish, a Zionist; and I utterly reject what the country I thought I loved and respected has become - an oppressor state. And I am repelled by Schumer's and plenty of other American politicians' unwavering loyalty to it, even in obvious contravention of America's (too frequently hypocritically) stated ideals.
Well Ben, there is an interesting conundrum here, Because the Neo Nazi's of MAGA are all for supporting Israel. Bibi's greatest foreign support is MAGA and Trump/Musk
BTW guess which countries voted with Russia in the UN the other day on a Resolution condemning Russia for invading Ukraine. Israel and the U.S.
Apparently the Nazis on the GOPee side of the aisle are also representatives of Tel Aviv, per your reckoning.
I’m a R in North Idaho because that is the only way I can have a say in politics in my state. I cannot associate with MAGAs as they are too toxic so I am called a RINO. That doesn’t bother me. Name calling is juvenile. What bothers me is the Ds in most of Idaho keep denying reality and think the “high road” is the best course. That ship sailed a long time ago and is why we call our Dems the DNDs, “do nothing democrats”. I absolutely agree with your words.
I believe both parties have failed us. They both have been in the pockets of corporations since the Reagan days. I am an advocate of a strong multiparty system. I agree that we need a serious fighting stance from Ds. However, it looks like the Ds have decided to let the ship sink. Maybe because we all need to feel the pain of an eclipsing democracy which will then spur action and change OR the Ds are still corporatists which will eventually bring the demise of our liberal democracy before my eyes.
Bernie is stepping up again. Others need to echo repeatedly, “It’s the robber barons that are holding you back and stealing your money. It’s the robber barons that have stolen 50 trillion dollars from the middle class with the aid of their republican co-conspirators.” That message is not amplified when Hakeem cosies up to billionaires, they are the enemy of the people!
Bernie’s like the EverReady Bunny.. and he looks the same as in the 2016 rallies. Discovered Bernie on Thom’s show. Didn’t know who the smart guy with the funny accent was.
Sadly, I don't believe we can count on the Democrats to do any of the things that Thom is suggesting. Dems always seem to prefer bringing a rulebook to a gunfight. They are polite and collegial with those republican nazis instead of calling them out and shaming them to their faces on a daily basis. Meanwhile, the country is on fire and I don't see any Dems doing much to stop the madness. For God's sake--my own Minnesota Senator, Amy Klobuchar, served as the chair of the inauguration committee for Trump. (I wrote to her and asked why she would even consider doing such a thing. Her response was nothing but platitudes and generalities and something something something about honoring tradition. I used to respect her, but no longer. Screw tradition. She should have told convicted felon Trump to stick it and plan his own damn inauguration.) republicans will never play fair, so it's ludicrous to think that Dems can win free and fair elections when the game is rigged. Time to start fighting back and playing dirty, Dems. The GOP has been doing it for decades, and they're winning. If we want to stop the republican onslaught and destruction of our country, Dems had better wise up and get their hands dirty. Otherwise, we lose our democracy and it's all over. What's it gonna be, Dems? What's it gonna be?
There is a flip side to this. When Citizens United passed, Dems where between a rock and hard place. Some tried running greatly underfunded compared to their opponent, but most lost. So it ended up to publicly condemn it, but go after the money to have any chance of winning. At the time I was on our county Dem Central Committee and a Bernie Sanders supporter, in the minority as most were focused on Hillary. I went to many local meetings where the attitude was "there is no difference between the parties - one is as bad as the other." Many didn't vote, so we ended up with illegitimate Trump. I knew at the time that those pushing "there is no difference", were going to hurt the Dems chances. How do we get around that?
I live in a state (Illinois) that is gerrymandered in favor of Democrats, and my district was custom-made to get a Democrat elected to Congress. This comes at a great relief to me, although some of our reddest counties are now threatening to secede. If turnabout is fair play, what if those blue cities in the red states tried seceding instead? They are so different in character and culture from their surroundings that it may be beneficial to both areas.
Hmmm… We need to educate ALL. MAGA voters are Americans who do not understand or appreciate their responsibilities as Americans. My father was in France during WWII. His father died at 45 during 1945 when he returned from France. My mother’s grandmother worked very, very hard to ensure that her three children ( two sons and a daughter) all went to college. A bit amazing. I remember all of this because I appreciate the opportunities this country gave to my parents. My father met my mother, the oldest child in her family. Her parents came over from Belfast, Ireland. My mother was going to college ( yes, so long to go, on scholarship . In her third year one of her brothers who was a year younger and a seminarian died suddenly at 19 after playing pick up football. He had ruptured his spleen which as not known until he went to the hospital, and as a result died. His picture was all over my grandparents home and yet no one would speak about this tragedy . Wow, first among family immigrants from what is now the EU.
Why do we not understand from where so many of us have come? Why do we not appreciate and close ourselves to those who wish to join us? To have a country that advances what it means to be American we need to appreciate the learning and work we must do to have the country we seek.
Donald Trump does not demonstrate the understanding and leadership we will ever need.
Be the change you seek… that is truly American leadership.
Today, I wonder if as Americans we understand this responsibility and gift we have as Americans. We must be and lead the changes we seek.
Hurricane, the Irish and Italians were not considered white when they first came to America. There was a Nativist movement (the movie Gangs of New York is a fair representation) and I have proof on my hard drive, the the form of a tax assessment of a white slave in 1860 in Alabama. Probably Irish,
Irish and Italians lost their accents and became white, now their descendants are as racist as the Sons of the Confederacy. To wit: Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.
And they should have gotten votes recounted in all of the swing states in the Presidential election. And they should accept money offered to them by the wealthy instead of running with one hand tied behind their backs. They should challenge every single Republican voter. Only one side is not honorable. It's time to match that dishonor. Can't win fighting one-handed though Democrats policies are preferred by the majority of voters. We already are at a big disadvantage due to the lying, disinformation, RW media ecosystem.
Every Republican’s registration should be challenged on the basis of having multiple homes and we assume they are double voting as Bush’s research shows that it was the republicans double voting.

Stick to that issue.

I couldn't agree more! We need to play by their rules if we ever hope to win an election again.
Thom, to your analogy: Kamala legally could have called for manual recount of ballots! Why didn’t she?
She was afraid of what Trump would do to her.
She really didn't want to be president
She is a sock puppet Manuel
You can’t insist on fighting fair when the opposition is breaking all of the rules.
