I might be missing known stats that prove otherwise, but the fact that most abortions are chosen by white women, combined with their much-greater ability than black or brown people in red states to travel to a blue state to get one, means that abortion bans will shift unwanted births to the non-white demographic, which I guess is NOT what the ban-framers want. (Just as anti-vaxxers cause more deaths among their own demographic.) Just sayin'.

'Tis ironic, eh, Dean? Whew....

Let's look at some facts.

Fact 1: The unspoken target is black and brown people on welfare.

Fact 2: My NaziRepublican Party worshipper relatives think ALL people on welfare are black and brown

Fact 3: The majority of welfare goes to corporations, not people.

Fact 4: Most of the welfare that does go to people, goes to people who are NOT poor

Fact 5: Most poor people on welfare are white and rural

Fact 6: Most abortions are gotten by white women

Fact 7: Most abortions are performed to save the life of the woman, not the mother, there is no mother involved, just a woman and a non viable lump of cells.

Fact 8: Eliminating Planned Parenthood INCREASES the number of abortions because teen girls with cultist parents can't sneak and get birth control, pregnancy advice, health care, pregnancy advice, help with adoptions, pregnancy advice, and pregnancy advice.

Fact 9: White non-poor women can easily get abortions.

Fact 10: Although the vast majority of children born because of the tragedy of abortion restrictions are rural whites, brown and black urban babies get all the headlines.

Fact 11: Although it's never mentioned, restricting women's rights is a self-reinforcing problem. Women love babies, they are all fascinated by babies, they all WANT babies. Women who are certain they cannot successfully raise children ARE ALMOST CERTAINLY CORRECT. That means 15 years later the unsuccessfully raised children will be making more children they cannot successfully raise, expanding the problem.

Fact 12: History shows us that before safe, affordable, legal abortion was available, there were 50% more abortions. Eliminating abortions increases the number of abortions. It's exactly the same as telling your teenager that drinking will suppress their inhibitions and cause them to do stupid stuff. Right, that's exactly why I drank back then, to suppress my inhibitions - and guess what, plenty of girls did the same thing. It's 100% natural, stupid, but 100% natural.

ANY BAN OR RESTRICTION ON ABORTION, CONTRACEPTION, OR SAME SEX RELATIONSIHPS, based on or motivated by religious beliefs, religious opinions, is an unconstitutional violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment,

CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION

Solid quote, thanks.

ABORTION BANS ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL

The rational for limiting or banning abortion freedom is uniformly religious, based on religious assumptions, beliefs, doctrines, ideas, opinions, theologies, theories, about when life begins, the alleged "sanctity of life" (which, for conservatives, seems to end at birth), the reasoning that abortion is a sin, therefore it should be a crime.

THIS FLIES IN THE FACE OF THE FIRST CLAUSE OF THE FIRST AMENDNMENT, THE ESTABLISHMENT CLAUSE,

"CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION,

The principle which the conservative Injustices on the Should have learned in Con Law in law school is that laws based on religious beliefs and / or motives are unconstitutional, even if a law has an "incidental religious effect" it must stand alone on a secular basis,

I.e., science, not religion

So far, I have never seen anyone offer a secular, scientific, argument for banning abortion, or restricting abortion. Scientifically, zygotes and fetuses are not yet "persons."

In my opinion, and in the opinion of a few other lawyers I've had this conversation with, ANY LAW BANNING OR RESTRICTING ABORTION, BECAUSE OF RELIGIOUS BELIEFS OR OPINIONS, IS AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL VIOLATIT OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT.

If the white Catholic Injustices overturn Roe because of religious beliefs, opinions, that will be an unconstitutional act by Supreme Court justices who once swore to defend and protect the Constitution.

AND,

FOR THE SAME REASON, LAWS BANNING OR RESTRICTING CONTRACEPTION OR SAME-SEX MARRIAGE, BASED ON OR MOTIVATED BY RELIGIOUS BELIEF, OPINION (homosexuality is a sin, therefore it should be a crime, birth control is a sin, therefore it should be a crime) EQUALLY OFFEND THE FIRST AMENDMENT.

I have never seen this issue litigated, or even discussed in public, but it needs to be. The Catholic Injustices on the Supreme Court need to face the reality that banning or restricting abortion, contraception, and same sex marriage, by law, based on religious opinions and motives, is unconstitutional.

I have thought the same thing, that bans on abortion result from religious motives and are therefore unconstitutional. Here’s a thought to consider. Age is measured from the time the infant emerges from the womb, something that is a verifiable fact. Baby Tom was born on December 12 at 4:06p.m. weighing 7.6 lbs. and measuring 20 inches. These facts are written down as soon as the baby is born. Who can verify the delivery date for a pregnancy? It’s guess at best because no one is able to verify when conception took place.

We need to move past trying to verify the exact date of conception, sometimes it can be done, sometimes not, but the docs can get it pretty close from the stage of fetal development, but that's a digression, we need to make the point that the date of conception doesn't matter, it is not dispositive to this issue, it is IRRELEVANT to the issue of the Constitutionality or abortion bans or restrictions,

Also, until quite recently, it was generally accepted that life began upon quickening, when the baby took its first breath, by the Catholic church, and most others,

But the important focal point I think needs to be raised, and so far hasn't been, is that

ANY RESTRICTION ON ABORTION, CONTRACEPTION, OR LGBT RIGHTS, BASED ON OR MOTIVATED BY RELIGIOUS BELIEFS, IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL

A violation of the First Amendment, Establishment Clause,

When you try a case, a good trial lawyer will focus on the pivot point, the one issue, or the few, that will make or break the case, often it's just one, as here.

As long as we let them get away with the sideshows like when does life begin, we lose, they win, go for the jugular, go for the kill, the Democratic Party is too nice and polite for its own good, maybe this is a wake up call. I hope so.

Dems waste way too much time and energy talking and thinking like politicians, they need to pick a small committee of retired trial lawyers (so they have the time) to focus on how to try the case to the country, every election is a trial, the parties and candidates are the plaintiffs and defendants, the voters are the jury.

Dems need to be better at trying the case, among other things, they need to be very clear and specific about what they are for, and against, like, "We're for freedom, freedom to live as you choose, without government interference."

And about what Republicans are for and against, now we know for sure, "Republicans are against freedom, freedom to live as you choose, according to Republicans you have no right to be free from government interference, regulation, of your person life, what will they want to regulate next?"

Not long ago, just a few years, Republicans were pretending to be AGIANST government regulation, they claimed to want less of it . . . of course, they want no government regulation for businesses . . . but they sure as hell want the government to regulate everybody's sex lives and reproductive choices.

Organized religion is all about power and control. Racism is all about power and control. The abortion ban is all about power and control.

The youth of this nation aren't buying it. Bullying is unacceptable these days.

Whatever these damn Republicans do to young Americans that makes their life miserable will come back on them. May take a while. The younger the candidate I can vote for, the better. I'm glad my 70+ congressman is retiring. My primary vote is going to a young woman that studied environmental law. She has been using her power and control for the common good.

Alito's safety is going to be a problem for a long time. I think the rest of his crew need to lay low for a while too.

Republicans offer no viable solutions to any of our critical challenges. Their whole strategy is to divide, distract, and rig the vote through voter suppression, gerrymandering, corporate aid, big lies, and dark money. If they lose an election they look to the SCOTUS for help. In 2020, they opted for an Insurrection when they couldn't persuade any court to support their baseless claims.

They have gotten away with their "trickle-down" failed ideology for 40 years, which has financed their creation and redistribution of taxpayer debt to the wealthiest 10% of Americans, who also own 90% of America's corporate wealth. During Trump's reign the Federal debt and deficits didn't receive a penny of debt reduction. Instead of the R promise of 6% or greater economic growth, and eliminating the debt and deficits we got a severe depression, stagflation, and the costs of ignoring our critical challenges for four years. If that doesn't end the greedy and irresponsible R Party, nothing will.

It's also a lot worse than anyone can imagine. Corruption, deregulation, incompetent foreign policy based on private gain, undermining our democracy, and ignoring existential crises, in favor of fossil fuel & other industry campaign money is a death sentence for our democracy and our health. Banning books and abortion, taking away rights, building mythological walls, attacking Disney, and lying about climate change & voting integrity aren't solutions to our challenges. None of these distractions will build a fairer and more sustainable economy or bring Americans together to address the important challenges our future holds.

After such a rich history of dehumanizing and demonizing the “other” to benefit the morbidly wealthy, how collectively stupid are our fellow citizens that we keep falling for the same tactics? There's never been a better time to be a master propagandist and I think $44B will prove to be the best investment Musk ever made (assuming he exploits it well). It will return Trillions before long, that is if he doesn’t pay for the negative externalities that will inevitably flow from an auto-techno-kakistocratic state.
