Debbie Brockman, the WGN reporter, did absolutely nothing to provoke these ICE jerks. They put her in a van, and then crashed into another vehicle ripping the bumper loose on their way out of there. She was not charged and was later released. Pointless.

During trumps first term, I noticed that being a Democrat was being vilified by the conservative media. It was unsettling to say the least. I felt unsafe and unsure of what to say or do. What can we do? Are we already falling off the cliff? We are falling down. The violence is happening and we see it. It’s horrible to know and read about these violent raids on innocent people.
Will I ever pick up a copy of the local Las Vegas Sun newspaper which has a long history as a very left-leaning, liberal paper, and find an article such as this by Thom Hartmann or a similar article with a clear and unambiguous warning such as this one today? They have published my fairly strongly worded or even somewhat subversive letters in the past and I have seen others or editorials which were quite passionate or a bit hyperbolic on occasion. But the last five or so letters I have submitted in the last several months have been rejected and I have read letters and editorials recently which sound like something one would ordinarily find in the "sister" paper which is a reactionary rag reminiscent of the Fox Nuisance channel on TV. I'm sure Hank Greenspun who was the owner of the L.V. Sun for decades is rolling over in his grave to see that his son or others are censoring out certain messages and "moderating" content. The paper has barely been surviving because the RJ Reynolds corporation owns the other paper and has sued the Sun and tried to force them out. The Sun is now merely a skinny insert in the much larger fascist-leaning RJ, and it has continued to publish only because of a court order (as I understand the picture). We have a great source here for ourselves and for anyone else we can attract and invite. But if there are no broader outlets for these messages, we are fighting a very steep uphill battle and speaking within a bubble. The first question is there an audience for the message among a largely apathetic and ignorant population and the second is, how do we find an audience and get the word out? No Kings protests are thrilling for a day or two, but we have got to figure out a way to convey these core ideas and ideals, and soon, if we are to going to defeat this gang of destroyers and nihilists.

The goal isn’t enforcement — it’s submission..." is so true and should be incredibly terrifying. It is, as you say, without using the word "Hitlerian" right out of Hitler's playbook. I haven't read that this was spelled out in Project 2025. I don't think there's a chapter on the use of systematic sadistic terror as a major tactic in their overrall strategy. What has been transpiring with this use of brutality as major modus operandi to instill obediance through fear has led me to do my own rebranding for No Kings day. Meanwhile, Trump just manipulated the stock market, AGAIN. Based on his recent announcement, the Dow tanked 900 points Friday. Then Trump announced softening his “stance” on China….and, like magic, the market is up 500 points today. Gee, I wonder how many shares of stock Trump sold early last week (when it was HIGH), then bought back Friday after he crashed it? It’s really easy to sell high and buy low, when YOU are the one whose words and actions are driving it up and down. Rinse and repeat. A truly corrupt person. I believe Martha Stewart went to prison for “insider trading.” Lock him up!
The disbelief of my friends to what is coming is amazing when we see everyday the "government" planning to deny a large percentage of the citizens of Missouri who identify as little d democrats our freedom of speech and soon our actual freedom. The speed that this will happen is designed to shock and awe. I suspect all cell phone access to be suddenly just gone.
