Few sources either know or are willing to acknowledge a key subtext of a part of Eisenhower's speech. It involved a layer of exploitation that goes beyond the Republican (and often Democrat) B.S. Thom has once again laid this out for all to see.

Excellent post. The only question is I doubt standard GOP-Trump "hate-mongering" will get the MAGA-GOP across the line in November. They need a bigger hate target. This is why Trump is fighting an obviously self-defeating war against Iran. Why Trump is doing everything he can to sabotage peace talks. Including now enabling the nuclear program of the Iranian regime's arch enemy the Saudi regime. It could not be less obvious if Trump had “Make War on Iran” tattooed on his forehead. At the same time to the frustration of Congress Republicans the Trump administration (regime) is doing nothing to gain legitimate votes in November.
