Going no contact is not the answer to political disagreement.. especially amongst friends and family.. The equivalent of not letting someone sit at your high school cafeteria table because you don't like them. Childish. It does nothing to help the situation. And it does everything to give Trump the power that he wants and then double it to something he never even intended.... Misplaced outrage already re-elected trump... don't let it reelecture loved ones.
The tax figure buried near the bottom is the one nobody arguing "they're draining the country" will engage with: billions in taxes paid in, every year, by the population being marched out. Whatever this is optimizing for, it isn't the math.
The detention-death numbers here are real and worth sitting with... they track with what I've dug into separately.
Where I'd push back a little: "they knew and voted for cruelty" makes for a clean story, but it lets the actual mechanism off the hook.
Deaths didn't triple because people suddenly became evil.... they climbed because oversight offices got quietly gutted while the detained population nearly doubled and staffing didn't. That's a lever either party can pull, and it's a lot easier to rebuild than to diagnose 77 million people's souls. Doesn't make the grief in here less real. Just means the fix is an office and a budget line, not a character judgment.
