Trump could not have achieved this level of villainy without a great deal of submission and/or cooperation from the weasels, dingbats, and reprobates that constituted the so-called firewall against tyranny, a.k.a. the checks and balances of our constitution. Thanks for nothing for all the judges, justices, congresspersons, senators, party leaders, major donors, and all the little people out there who thought we need somebody in the White House to shake things up. Reap the whirlwind, you slithering bastards.

Trump's proclamation of March 15, 2025 "Invocation of the Alien Enemies Act Regarding the Invasion of the United States by Tren De Aragua" came up with new concepts, "hybrid criminal state" and "irregular warfare" and determined that each individual chosen is ineligible for 50 U.S.C. 22 which allows time to get affairs in order without a hearing whether they are charged with a crime, guilty, or not.

Trump is "slippery sloping" his way to assuming the powers of a dictator. In the televised meeting with the El Salvador president, Stephen Miller even said that the SCOTUS favored Trump 9-0.

I think he's already there. What galls me is that nobody (and that includes the minority justices) challegenge individual justices on bias. At every other level judges are in some manner voir dired for bias.

If there is a conflict, judges and justices are supposed to disclose them on the record. 28 U.S. Code § 455 - Disqualification of justice, judge, or magistrate judge

(a)Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.

"Shall" is supposed to be mandatory.

Daniel, Minority justices are behaving no differently than the 4 democrats in congress, Cuellar being one of them. I feel like a ship without a paddle.

No. Completely different, because they are held to a much higher standard.

Cuellar will vove with the Democrats on tariffs, other issues where some Republicans confront Trump.

Our best chance, BTW, is national seciurity.

26 Senate Republicans voted to fund Ukraine, many more House Republicans. Many call Trump a liar when he says Ukraine started the war. Many didn't sign up to be members of the axis of evil.

Yes, where are the Articles of Impeachment?! They should be filed and updated weekly by Dems. Sure, they will go nowhere right now, but the record needs to be compiled in real time for the people to see as they return to sentience. And to be acted on when the day comes.

As much as we want Kilmar Abrego Garcia freed, don't forget there are 260+ others jailed in El Salvador without due process. The abduction of people kidnapped off the street and imprisoned in a foreign land means the end of rights guaranteed since 1215 (i.e., the Magna Carta) and the 4th, 8th and 14th Amendments in our Constitution. The writ of habeas corpus, which allows individuals to challenge the legality of their detention, has a long history tied to the Magna Carta.

The 4th Amendment protects against unreasonable searches and seizures, while the 14th Due Process Clause ensures a person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.

As if those violations of the Constitution were not enough, the cruel and unusual punishment clause of the 8th Amendment prohibits such action inflicted by the government This amendment aims to protect individuals like Kilmar Garcia--and all other residents of the US, to be protected by the Constitution, from punishment that is excessively harsh or inhumane.

Trump has destroyed the Constitution and the Magna Carta in 84 days, with the help of cowed, cowardlyRepublicans in Congress and the SCOTUS. Shades of Nazi Germany 1930s!

When laws and rules are deemed irrelevant, only outliers exist, and any laissez faire option is fair game. In this game of detente vs. chicken, who blinks first may not be a determinant, but the cues it leaves are all but glaring.

Your money or your life was the demand of the outlaw. Your submission or the gulag is the demand of the tyrant. So much for 'murkan exceptionalism. As MLK once said, 'no man is free until all mean are free.' Women too, as well as all biota and our once lovely planet.

When will this boil pop? And who will squeeze it until it bleeds? I am betting on primordial recognition of self-preservation. No one being can assist another until they take care of themself first. Strength and honor.

We don't live in a perfect world....even if Garcia is returned, he is suject to deportation to anyplace except El Salvador.

He had a hearing befora an IJ -- Immigration Judge -- who, in effect paroled him because to return to El Salvador was to jeopardize his life.

No doubt Trump is in contempt, but as I said previously, the procedure could be extradition and we have an extradition treaty with El Salvador. https://www.oas.org/ext/Portals/33/Files/TreatiesB/USA_biltreat_elsal_eng_1.pdf

We have a checkered history with El Salvador. From AI

Challenges and Disputes:

There have been reports of the Salvadoran government refusing to extradite MS-13 gang leaders to the United States, despite extradition requests.

Some argue that the Salvadoran government may be protecting certain gang members, possibly in exchange for a reduction in violence.

This situation has led to tensions between the United States and El Salvador, with the U.S. government publicly pressuring El Salvador to extradite the gang leaders.

Key Points:

The extradition treaty provides a legal framework for transferring individuals to face justice in either country.

There are ongoing disputes and challenges related to the extradition of MS-13 gang leaders, with some reports suggesting that the Salvadoran government may be shielding certain individuals.

The situation has led to tensions between the two countries, with the U.S. government publicly pressuring El Salvador to comply with extradition requests

_____________

"WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is paying roughly $6 million for El Salvador to jail the 238 Venezuelan gang suspects deported Sunday, according to the White House.

That works out to roughly $25,000 per detainee — a 43% discount on average US prison costs."

“It was approximately $6 million to El Salvador for the detention of these foreign terrorists,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt said at her regular briefing Monday.

“I would point out that is pennies on the dollar in comparison to the cost of life and the cost it would impose on the American taxpayer to house these terrorists and maximum security prisons here in the United States of America.”

I recognized the name Nayib Bukele as Arabic, and found this on wikipedia.

Ortez is his mothers name, not his surname. And in the Anglo world, it is dropped

Nayib Armando Bukele Ortez was born on 24 July 1981 in San Salvador, El Salvador.[3] His father was Armando Bukele Kattán, a businessman and industrial chemist,[4][5] and his mother is Olga Marina Ortez. Bukele's father died in 2015.[6] Bukele was the couple's first child. He has three younger brothers, Karim, Yusef, and Ibrajim, and has four paternal half sisters and two paternal half brothers.[3][7] Bukele's father converted from Christianity to Islam in the 1980s, became an Imam, and founded four mosques in El Salvador.[5] Bukele's mother is Catholic.[6] Bukele's paternal grandparents were Palestinian Christians who emigrated to El Salvador from Jerusalem and Bethlehem in 1921. His maternal grandfather was Greek Orthodox, and his maternal grandmother was Catholic.[

Homeboys today, political opponents tomorrow.

We live in what is almost a locked down dictatorship. Nothing will stop him now, He controls all branches of government, the judiciary that is not totally under his control, have been warned, and are back sliding. SCOTUS rules and he ignores.

How much more evidence do we need. I hope that Canada will accept American political refugees, but can't blame them if we don't. Belize, which speaks English, is an option.

Check your country of choice resident visa requirements, Also check the list of which countries accept your social security benefits, an option is to keep your account in the US open, and do all of your transactions on line. One benefit of the internet.

What social security benefits? Elon and the Trump jugend have chain-sawed this department along with most of the rest of government. Even US citizens in the country (ironically many of them MAGA supporters) may find benefits late or suspended and no workable way to deal with glitches. For those who elect to depart to friendlier jurisdictions, I have zero doubt that they will be informed that their benefits are not collectible in a foreign country and are therefore terminated…….

The solution is, if you migrate, don't close out your bank account that accepts your SSA check, and use your Debit/credit card for purchases

Be aware that Medicare won't pay any out of country claims, so you had best have your own insurance.

Impeaching him again would be meaningless without a conviction in the Senate, which isn't going to happen. And even if it did, do you think he and Vance would agree to his exit? He's sort of like the Houthis or other fanatical groups who take attacks on them as evidence of how strong they are.

Really the start of this process goes back to Bush sending prisoners without any sort of due process to Guantanamo, to who knows how many foreign black ops sites, and (to revive a name for what the British did during the Revolution) prison ships. The only differences now are that the prisoner was taken inside America and the whole thing is out in the open. And while I don't like conspiracy theories one should ask if it really was an "administrative error" or a test run for what they could get away with.

I suppose the next step is setting up concentration camps inside America (Alaska maybe, in which case you might as well call them gulags) or at least in friendly foreign states. And if you want an image of all this imagine Putin's hand up Trump's butt, his hand up Bukele's, and in turn his hand squashing Garcia. It's not Orwell's, "If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face— forever", but it's close enough. Resist.
