What a remarkable time to live. The great "shining city on a hill," instead of a beacon of democracy, has become a flashing red warning that democracy cannot survive apathy and neglect, especially when that's the preferred outcome engineered by a small but loudmouthed faction of fascist leaders and followers funded by an even smaller faction of plutocrats.

Beer and hotdogs and fireworks on the Fourth of July sure are a fun way to celebrate the myth all right. (And for many, it's even a paid holiday). Whereas election day is a stomach-turning nightmare of anxiety and negativity that must be bravely navigated by determined citizens angry enough to overcome the huge obstacles deliberately blocking their basic right to vote -- and to have it counted! Strange isn't it, the difference in moods of those two days?

Just so sane people know what and who they're dealing with if they must interact with the crazies when it becomes unavoidable, everyday Republicans need to be honest with themselves and with those around them -- say it out loud, make it as plain as their dear leader does every single time he opens his stupid mouth: They simply do not believe in the whole concept of democracy in the first place. So, where is Biden's common ground with such goddamn fools?

Remarkable times.

Climate crisis-brought to us by greed. Banking crisis 2008-brought too us by greed. Trump, the personification of greed-brought to us by Republicans.
