One thing I've noticed and it's terrifyingly real, is the supposedly "liberal" media's role in all this. They have been trumpeting Democratic loss in the midterms and Republican wins since the Democrats' wins in 2020. People go along with what they think others are doing - that is also part of our instinctual behaviors.

Thank you for saying what needs to be said. And heard.

I believe that many wealthy people, those supporting the worldwide fascist movement, want to revert to a time of Royals and serfs.

I find the results of this weekends election in Brazil a reason for hope. Like the US rejecting Trump for Biden, the Brazilians rejected Bolsonaro, a mini-Trump, in favor of Lula de Silva. Bolsonaro has not, to the best of my knowledge, indicated whether or not he will accept the election results. If he does not, and lacking the legal restraints that have hampered Trump, rejects the results and attempts to mount his own coup, leading to riotous chaos in Brazil, Brazil could serve as an immediate example of the consequences of continuing down the path we seem to be following.

Billionaires and Corporations need basic social order for them to continue to prosper and grow their wealth. Given that they make up 1-2% of the total population, ultimately they are on a losing path. But the amount of bloodshed it would take to reestablish social order (an social oxymoron?) is frightening.

Democracy is intended to be a rational way to live in reasonable peace and order. Let's hope that the institutions, customs, and systems that make that possible continue. Remember the Gettysburg Address. We continue to be tested to see if the "proposition that all men are created equal" will long endure. The test, however, is not one with a definable final pass or fail result; it is an

ongoing day-to-day lived reality requiring daily commitment.

Why doesn’t the President issue an executive order to outlaw Citizens United‘a anonymous donations?

Here's how I'm introducing this article to all my FB groups:

--------

Right-wing Authoritarian Oligarchs Want It All Their Way - Are We Going To Let Them Have It?

We created a new form of government as we declared independence from royal authoritarian oligarchs of the British Empire. We have been fighting home grown authoritarian oligarchs ever since.

The authoritarian oligarchs of slavery started a war, a coup attempt that cost 655,000 American lives, to preserve their power, their wealth and their ownership of other humans.

The authoritarian oligarchs of the Industrial Revolution gave us the Great Depression while keeping their workers-of-all-ages barely alive to maximize their wealth. Then they attempted another coup to replace FDR as he started to control their greed and putting an end to worker and child abuse.

Today’s much wealthier and more abusive authoritarian oligarchs paid for 1/6/2021, are trying to enslave the rest of us, steal another $50 trillion, destroy the Earth as they build spaceships to leave, and finally complete their coup before they go.

Stopping the next oligarch coup attempt “will take an overwhelming number of us waking up and becoming politically active. And we’re going to have to get it done soon, while it’s still legal to protest and to vote.”

Rich guys need a strong functioning democratic republic more even than the rest of us. Look at Russia, look at Saudi Arabia. This tells me that the very rich are very stupid, more than any other evidence.

Our wealth is hiding in plain sight, the full faith and credit of the people of the United States:

$135 Trillion -- net. Net! Of *all* obligations.

( source US Fed, quarterly, great web page, ‘distribution of household income,’ nobody refers to it )

best luck to US -- b.rad

Call this support or dissent, it's just associated facts. I did a survey of family members. My family is pretty typical of the USA. Looking from my grandkids' level into the roots, my family is very diverse.

Excluding those with college, my family is 50/50 R and D.

Only a few of the R's would have been considered "white" 100 years ago, and they admit that the Republican Party is white supremacist.

The reason they are voting R is they view the alternative as worse.

Let's step aside for a moment and realize that if we had a progressive party, many, if not most Trumpers would vote for it. They want progress rather than excuses, and many switched to Trump after he adopted Bernie's platform, not really trusting Trump to deliver, but at least sending a message, and what if he actually DID support Bernie's platform after being elected.

We Progressives would also like some representation for our taxation.

Just yesterday I heard an official Democratic "political analyst" discuss the Rs winning as Virginia governor race because "the D guy compared the R guy to Trump". Huh, that's not what happened. The R guy won because the Dems ignored half a dozen exciting, and I mean "future president exciting" young female candidates who would have walked away with the election, to run the only candidate with a chance of losing. They aren't even in the same frequency band as Americans, much less on the wrong channel. We want REPRESENTATION for our taxation. That's all, we aren't greedy. We want our money's worth, otherwise we don't want to invest.

So, here's an idea, we take over the Democratic Party and convert it to the Progressive Party and then put people in who work for us.

We may do just that in a week or so.

I'll propose the first law, add a voter's referendum to each state's ballot asking if they want one more tick box on the ballot for each position, NONE OF THE ABOVE, that bans either candidate for running this election cycle. If the parties can't put up someone we like, hold a lottery and sell the seat for $2 a ticket, one ticket allowed each candidate. I'd take someone selected at random over most of these folks. Maybe we could just have the Progress Channel do a lottery from subscribers.
