Is it wrong to get some satisfaction from knowing Republicans like Romney and Cheney are troubled by their party too? It's about time! Communities of color have long suffered and endured the hateful people Mitt and Liz are now forced to acknowledge. Jesus, I hope they are embarrassed; they ought to be.

Our citizens who have been subsumed by the cult that Trump built (and that the oligarchs love to exploit) are driven by hate and intolerance, and are unlikely to ever understand the true purpose of our government. Since it would take some serious deprogramming to get them to recognize actual fact and evidence, it’s doubtful that they will change any time soon. Thomas Paine observed that trying to convince such citizens to use their critical thinking skills is futile, because “To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.” Even if it’s Hydroxychloroquine.
