Name one company executive or board member sitting as head of a regulatory agency appointed by Biden.

Oh and my personal favorite is Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin fresh off his multi-million dollar stint on the board of military contractor Raytheon for whom he is signing off on hundreds of millions in munitions for Ukraine! Talk about corruption and insider trading but oh those nasty Republicans.

Well Boris who should run federal agencies, Joe Shit the ragman who knows jack squat a about the agency he is regulating. Lots of luck with that? Put Joe the Plumber in charge of the FAA and Alice Homaker in charge of FDA.

Whitaker, your link above, was FAAтАЩs deputy administrator during former president Barack ObamaтАЩs administration, and IIRC he did a pretty good job.

Steve Dickson, a former Delta Air Lines executive appointed by former president Donald Trump, stepped down as administrator 17 months ago.

President Biden on Thursday nominated Michael Whitaker to run the Federal Aviation Administration, choosing a former airline executive who previously was second-in-command at the agency to serve as its leader.

If confirmed by the Senate, Whitaker would begin a five-year term as the agency is grappling with high-profile near misses that have shaken confidence in aviation safety. He would be charged with modernizing FAA technology and replenishing its depleted ranks of air traffic controllers.

Some of that work would be familiar to Whitaker, who oversaw work on a next-generation air traffic control system as the FAAтАЩs deputy administrator during former president Barack ObamaтАЩs administration. Whitaker was a longtime executive at United Airlines, working as a senior vice president with responsibility for regulations. He is currently chief operating officer at Supernal, a company that develops electric aircraft.

After safety breakdowns and outage, FAA leader seeks to reassure public

Whitaker, 62, holds a law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center and earned a private pilot certificate in 2014 during his time at the FAA, part of what he called a commitment to understanding technology and the challenges facing general aviation.

The nomination follows a protracted period in which the safety agency has lacked a permanent leader. Steve Dickson, a former Delta Air Lines executive appointed by former president Donald Trump, stepped down as administrator 17 months ago.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said the agency needed a confirmed leader and Whitaker was the right person for the job.

тАЬHe knows aviation, he knows safety, he knows the FAA and he knows how to manage and modernize large organizations,тАЭ Buttigieg said in a statement.

Anyway, and this is important, none of his appointees have been CEO's, and the only people who know anything about the industry they regulate, are people who have worked in those industries. Not all who worked as executives in an industry, are craven bastards.

The fact that you call me Boris and the fact that you think pharamceutical industry magnates should be running the FDA means there is no reason to talk to you at all. You are truly disturbed and the fact that Thom Hartmann listeners are like this only proves how similar to Trump supporters they really are. In their own little neoliberal echo chambers pointing fingers at the other side while their side does the same or worse (eg Genocide Joe).

Boris You distort. Your comment is a logical fallacy. I said nothing about a pharmaceutical industry magnate.

The link you provided says that Dr Robert Dr. Califf, 70, a respected academic and clinical trial researcher who ran the agency during the last year of the Obama administration, has long been a consultant to drug companies and ran a research center at Duke University that received some funding from the drug industry.

That is hardly a pharmaceutcal magnate. Yet again you stoop to the dishnonest levels of Trump, Reublicans and Putin.

Man stubs toe, Boris reports foot amputated.

Boris if you think democracy is bad it will get 1,000 times worse with a dictatorship. That's why I vote blue but I can see that too many of them are also crooks and that they are evil, greedy capitalists also. So is Putin and almost all the Christian nations and Muslim apparently and Jewish?

I will send more as I am at workright now, but this in one of the higher profile ones. Of course, those who listen to Thom and are cheerlaeading for Biden would not be aware of this: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/12/us/politics/robert-califf-fda.html

And Boris, your solution is then Trump, Putins butt buddy.

Again Boris, your solution to Biden and the Democrats is Putin's surrogate Trump.

You have yet to respond to or deal with that. You charge Biden with Genocide and Imperialism and ignore the genocide and imperialism of Putin.

Catliff has been an academic since he left the agency. He'll have to follow the OGE rules.
