His one goal is to be the Elon of Mars, and to achieve that goal he requires all of the financial, material, human resources of America and China.
America is an economic powershouse, hot because it is a producer nation, but because it is a consumer nation, and debt, national, corporate, private has enabled that consumption. We consume what the world produces, and the world's salesmen, (presidents PM.s) come knocking at our door, supplicating and prostrating themselves to sell us their nations wares.
On the other side of the large moat called the Pacific lies Asia, and paramount in Asia is China. China produces most of what we consume, China and it's quasi satrapy's.
Musk produces much of what he sells in China and benefits from both ends of of the spectrum,, production and consumption, and all with one goal in mind, to go to Mars and be the Elon, the fuhrer of Mars.
