"I sense a first trial balloon toward the creation of a MAGA Committee of Public Safety. Mr. Thiel tells us that the old world is dead, and it is long past time to uncover the truth about various and sundry secrets of the recent past: Epstein’s suicide; Kennedy’s assassination; and, oh yeah… COVID-19....
But what really frightened me is that this guy is suggesting the idea of reviewing the evidence via the internet, inviting mob participation in determining truth.
And who is going to moderate these show trials? Who is the new Robespierre? It will be his IT billionaire compadres who push the buttons and spin the logarithms."
We are now entering what we might call a Brave New World. The writer’s obvious disdain for traditional scholarship and journalism is very troubling. These exist for the world we have lived in for centuries: The world of the press, universities, the written word, and debate via evidence..."
