Perhaps, this is why so many of the wealthy have been building bunkers. About that tax fraud. So what's to keep all of the billionaires in this country from doing the same thing? Make a phoney law suit, buy a judge to find in your favor & never have to pay taxes again either individually or corporately. Then they could fire all those accountants they need to manipulate their books & can add the cost to their income & not have to worry about taxes ever again. Why would trump risk losing power by letting midterms happen? Frankly, I find it hard to believe he's going to give up the gravy train by letting us vote. All he has to do is a presidential act as construed by the Supreme Court and presto declare no elections be held. Or if held and he doesn't like the results, declare them invalid for whatever reason. The idea that he's stealing as much money as he can before going quietly into the night doesn't fit his mental sickness in my opinion.
If Trump, like Hitler, were to turn the blame on his followers, do you think he would ever turn on Kushner and Junior for ruining his negotiations with Iran?

We are already seeing the further descent into the amoral hell that thump with his monumental psychological defects and his criminal organization are herding us into with this latest "assassination attempt." Multiple news reports describe what happened: A Black man with a documented history of psychosis and psychiatric hospitalization, a man well known by the Secret Service and other law enforcement in the area, a man who had previously attempted to enter White House grounds several times, a man whose reported possession of a gun should have been completely prohibited by all of that history, a man who was reportedly not at all very near the White House on this latest occasion, that Black man with a documented history of severe mental illness and documented history of unlawful attempts to enter White House grounds, a Black man known by all law enforcement agencies policing the White House area, that man shows up in the general vicinity of the White House, allegedly fires his gun and is met with a reported relentless barrage of gunfire, ground and rooftop snipers, and is killed.
Headlines after the killing include the words: "The President is safe."
"The President" followed up with his now invariable demand for the ballroom and the now invariable linking of the ballroom with security -and now even adding "national security." Even by his lunatic logic, how does a ballroom, even with a heavily defended lower level, enhance NATIONAL security? By protecting HIM?? HE is the biggest threat to our NATIONAL security and our NATIONAL well being, so how does “his ballroom” protect THE NATION from him??! Can we ALL fit in there??! And furthermore, he referred to the White House as a "sacred building." Does he mean the same "sacred building" that he has been desecrating, mocking, demolishing and defiling? THAT "sacred building"??!! Gives you a good idea of HIS interpretation of the word "sacred" and that understanding can be applied to his "prayers" and his "Bible" sales as well. (and for good measure, that Mr. Godly Uriah Heep phony Mike Johnson's interpretation of "religion...sacred....Bible...." etc. Impossible to believe he can read the Bible when his lips are so firmly attached to Thump's hindquarters.)
The security of "the 'president' " was already intact; there was no danger to him, not proximate or in any other way. "The President is safe" was accomplished - as have all other incidents to any other President at the White House - by the usual methods of law enforcement, and in this case, far exceeding any other methods of law enforcement ever used to protect any President. (Reporters and others described the barrage of gunfire directed at the man as sounding like a "war zone." One man, not near the White House, known to law enforcement, a known history - shot at like in a "war zone.")
If you recall, there was a man who did get onto White House grounds and on the White House property itself and did present a possible threat by intrusion – and that is when Barack Obama was President and he and Michelle Obama actually LIVED in The White House and lived there together, as a married couple, a genuine President and First Lady, not as some degenerate stage act. To my recollection, that intruder was not shot and killed and, he was not a Black man known to law enforcement and he was AT the White House, not in the wider vicinity of the "neighborhood"! And even at that, nor even when Reagan or Ford or any other President were attacked, none of them demanded a “ballroom” claiming it was needed for security or for national security!

There is no sane association between "the ballroom" and security for any President or for national security by any honest analysis. What IS increasingly looking possible, given who this 'president' is and the kind of person he is, is that he wants a bunker with the highest defensive and security provisions for HIM and his chosen retinue, whether Ivanka and Hogspit or some of the MAGA-women around him, and who knows who else on any given day. A bunker. If that word rings any bells in regard to past despots Thump admires it's an understandable connection; whether the loathsome old con-man wants that survival "ballroom" for himself or for his criminal organization remains to be seen, but there is no "national security" that it provides that is any better than what exists now, nor any security for any President that is better than what exists now. What a bunker would provide is safe haven for him and his criminal organization and thug army to fend off any organized effort to oust him and them from power. Or maybe he is just showing the filthy coward that he is and he is afraid of the next “insurrection” he incites, like the January 6, 2021 violence directed at others on HIS behalf, but the next one being directed at him. He saw the violence he incited, that violence of the kind that always seems to arouse him, and he’s afraid it will be directed at him next time, and a bunker would shield him in ways that those who were attacked on January 6 were not shielded by him!
Among the many disgusting things he said at last week's commencement ceremony at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, he said that he would be there in 2028 and he might still be there in 2032. In other words, he has no plans to leave power. He is demolishing the country as he makes plans for U.S. taxpayers to provide him and his mob with safe shelter while he simultaneously robs those taxpayers, cheats them and endangers them. And apparently he has to keep going back to Walter Reed Hospital repeatedly every few weeks for undisclosed reasons but presumably something that will help him stay in power until the country is thoroughly plundered and the heist is complete.
In the meantime, a Black man with severe mental illness, a man well known to the protection forces around the President manages to have a gun, appears in the wider vicinity of the White House and is gunned down by snipers and law enforcement at a level described as that of a "war zone."
And Thump remained in D.C., at the White House, in spite of Don Junior getting married (to the wealthy "socialite" daughter of an Epstein associate, by the way, per Epstein investigative reporters) and in spite of the oddity of Thump remaining at the White House on a weekend - and then, almost immediately after the documented psychotic Black man inexplicably carrying a gun is killed, Thump comes out with a statement about this episode showing again the necessity of "the ballroom."
Was that mentally ill Black man a sacrificial lamb killed in unwitting but deadly service to the depraved desires of the most amoral, sadistic monster holding power? And that amoral, sadistic monster demands that YOU pay for HIM to have a monumentally safe bunker from all known forms of attack, his egomania so profound that he tells you that his safety is your national security?!

Serious question: at what point does “protecting democracy” become indistinguishable from both sides trying to permanently entrench power? Because Americans increasingly seem to trust elections only when their side wins. That’s a civilization-level problem, not a campaign problem.
