Future generations will struggle to understand how a nation that claimed to love children could deliberately subject them to fear, isolation, sickness, & despair in the name of Donald Trump & the GOP…
Being a Brown child in Donald's Grand Ole Pedo [GOP] America is like being locked in a fluorescent-flickering, semi-darkened "panic" room with a very hangry Jeffrey Dahmer.
At the same time, Wagner blasts within said room: Occasionally, Speaker Mike Johnson's voice blurts out, "I don't know," over the "music." It's fascistically Loud.
Piped through four massive 4-foot-tall, peeling fake-wood, late-'60s, Monitor Gold 15" Tannoy speakers — All of them rattling, distorting cacophonically at one another from each corner.
And Mikey says randomly, "I don't know."
It's Kafka-esque. A living hell.

Every privately run housing facility, from prisons to nursing homes, sacrifices care to prioritize profit margin. Capitalism's dark heart is never more obvious. But what makes these concentration camps magnitudes worse is the racist philosophy that drives their mission.
The business administrator is the supervisor of the Director of Nursing in nursing homes. They are usually on six-month contracts that aren't renewed if they don’t meet the financial goals set by the owners. They rarely see the residents or deal with the families.
It might help if Democrat-hating Democratic leadership would turn their attention from undermining those to their left to focusing their attention and power on the fascists to their right. Failing that, they’re feeding a monster indifferent to the source of its nutrition.
I fight back tears as I read this essay. I trained as a teacher. I learned about the lifelong repercussions of early neglect, let alone deliberate abuse. I was born in the early 50s. I grew up in a country that mostly respected our First Amendment rights. I watched as republican administrations began the gradual attack on our own Constitution. When you want to be a dictator, you cannot allow the rights defined in our foundational First Amendment.
Thom and Louise, thank you again for this eye-opener and timely article. You continue to outdo yourself with the hard facts which most Americans are afraid to admit and consider.
I’ve long since come to the belief that 80+% of our citizens are either sleep walking or under mass hypnosis(as in NLP neuro-linguistic programming- see Steven Hassen’s “ The Cult of Trump, and his many current and archived articles, his Substack subscription is now free.
Louise’ daily song is superb. I think one should use earphones/pods to do justice to it-worthy of platinum and national radio. As usual, you provide all your sources (click on anything underlined)
Comments on Louise's songs are worth a thumbs up to add to yours. I don't know how she is doing it. Thy lyrics and the music almost daily will move me. I listen to a lot of music, and have been a radio host on a music program on public radio for many years. And these songs get us to where we need to be thinking and understanding the reality around us these days. Not much lollipops and roses, okay? Promoting them seems like a thing the program is not interested in doing, they are "bumpers" to use for coming back from a break. I appreciate that they will generally play the new one on for an extended play. But, I finally have figured out how to download them after I listen to it online all the way through. And I rename it with the title and date, from its no name file. You are correct. Earphones are the best way to listen.
Surely abuse of children is considered a crime against humanity and any an all perpetrators need to be indicted and sent to the Hague for adjudication of their crimes. If not held to account in legitimate judicial proceedings the final course of "justice" is that administered by the "People".
Mary Trump, in a recent interview on The Daily Beast, described that her Uncle Donold was creating a blackhole. His joy comes from degrading everyone.
Change that concept to TRump BEING a blackhole that sucks everyone and everything in and I would agree. He loves seeing a good beat-down---man, woman, or child. Any physical pain will do. He is a psychopath and a sadist that has surrounded himself by the same.
Thank you, Thom and Louise, for your service. Keep bringing us the LIGHT. See you in the streets.
"...so obscene that the psychopaths and monsters in the Trump administration are gleefully holding brown-skinned babies, toddlers, and young children in brutal, cold, fluorescent-lit-all-night cages for months at a time and longer."
Though I completely understand the outrage and sentiment of harm to ANY child, I must say that I find this sudden concern about "children in cages" rather profound. You see, the ORIGINAL brown skinned babies that were not only placed in cages, but kidnapped, beaten, raped and shackled had no fluorescent lights. In fact, they were not even human...they were "property" like a refrigerator, or a dog. I am a descendant of those children. Those children built the nation that the "brown-skinned babies" that European-Amerikans are so concerned about now flood into "seeking a better life." Those original caged and abused children's offspring's offspring continue to suffer to this very day; yet, I see no such outrage.
Yes, Thom. Once again you brilliantly described all aspects of child abuse. And I commend you for all the work that you and Louise did years ago to help abused children. Thank you. Thank you!
I am saddened by this edition of the Report. Because it is just what I am thinking and feeling nearly (no, absolutely) daily.
What will history say? Will the commentators on this era be echoed or contradicted by the outcome of the "monsters" and their cruel and selfish and treasonous deeds?
Using the term monsters, on the one hand is not helpful. But Hell, what else can we call these humans doing these things? Call it monstrous.
I don't know. I am just so weary. I have to retreat. I have to limit my time on this stuff or I am going to go downhill in my own health and ability to think.
One statement I have to respond to this newsletter, might be this:
Brutality is attractive to some.
Ugly as it is, why do so many things just get amplified and repeated?
Why do not more people intervene when they are seeing the cruelty being carried out?
Some are actually seeing the policies and the cruel acts as strength.
Of course, the lies that are said to completely cover up much of this is also an answer to how it will continue while we await an awakening of more citizens to jump in and helpt to stop this.

Orwell is more and more prophetic, and if so then the victor writes the history, so it is up to us to see to it that MAGAism is not the victor.

Cages seem to be a theme among the TRump regime.

My "Like" is only a thank you to Thom for this essay describing the inhumanity of the tRumpian regime.
