Thank you Thom for addressing the present reality of irregular warfare. It's not a mealtime topic, but it should be.

Trump and the MAGA establishment are absolutely a direct result of IW. Vladimir Putin understands the US far better than the vast majority of MAGA - and it shows. We have had a sitting president and the entirety of one political party answering directly to Russia - whether they know it or not. This is what makes Irregular warfare so insidious. You can't see it, unless you're looking for it.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a good source for anyone interested in the topic. We need massive improvement in countering IW here in the US, a country so out of social and economic balance we've become easily exploitable to foreign interventions.

Oh, and fuck you Rand Paul for hand delivering the names and locations of our intelligence assets to Putin. They were killed, you bag of shit.

“We have had a sitting president and the entirety of one political party answering directly to Russia - whether they know it or not.” My first thought is ‘What is wrong with these people (the R’s in Washington)? Are they in it thinking they will enrich themselves (I.e. “follow the money”), are they collectively groveling for Mr Evil, or are they worried what will happen to them and/or their families if the don’t toe the line?

I think it's fear AND favor.

Today's Republican party appears to be a logical result of decades spent destroying its own legitimacy, rather than actually governing and answering to the people. At some point in time they crossed a critical threshold from which they could never return in good standing. People figured them out: the Republican party stood only with the very rich and power hungry - no exceptions.

What we're seeing now is a predator backed into a corner. They see no way out but to double down on more violence, intimidation, conspiracy, and corruption. And they're doing it in the open now.

There are surely some within the Republican party (probably within the older ranks) that don't want to be a part of this anymore - it's gone too far, even for them - but there's so much inertia now within the party that to get out is probably harder than getting out of the mafia. That's the fear part.

Then there are those relatively new to the party who know exactly what they're signing up for. They want this fight - this hostile takeover of America - and the power and wealth they imagine will come from it. That's the favor part.

It's a bad combination, and one in which I fear will ultimately end catastrophically for everyone - exclusive of party. I hope we find our way through this, but there is certainly no way around it.

Our vote is our only reasonable and acceptable action.

Hard to believe anyone could be unaware of their existence while the non existent antifa is believed whole heartedly by the crowd that thinks they are the defenders of the Constitution who want to end democracy because their republicanism defined as oligarchy is going to be better for them. Kind of like christians who think Jesus is too liberal.

Masha Gessen wrote a book called: The Man Without A Face, The Unlikely Rise Of Vladimir Putin. She had to flee Russia and is living here. Her research made her conclude that being a spymaster was all Putin ever wanted. Now he is THE Spymaster after spending the last twenty-four years putting in place his people and puppets in the field and in cyberspace. Oh, he's good!

Trump thoroughly denigrated the FBI, CIA, and military intelligence. Their high-ranking individuals know exactly what he has done, but will likely NEVER tell the secrets he's revealed unless it's anonymously to a reporter. They are bound by their oaths to this country and their agencies. This gives Trump and his cult plausible deniability, because they and Putin have done a number on everything that we might tend to believe. They've messaged to us, don't trust the media, our elections, or anyone but his operative, Trump. We've all had a front-row seat to see them do this to our country.

Amazingly Thom, you have in a few paragraphs named and explained the history of Irregular Warfare and how it's being perpetrated on America.

Putin and Trump are psychopaths. We know Donald---his niece Mary and many professionals have told us about his condition, but if anyone wants to know about Vladimir, Ms. Gessen's book is a good place to start. We have watched that MURDERER in real-time too. He's not much of a mystery these days.

With artificial intelligence coming online it will be very interesting this November, much more lying and a bearing falce witness!

The Donald cult seems to like Putin a lot. The idea of a Christian theocracy and a dictatorship appeals to them. Many veterans here in rural Arizona have Trump flags flying? The cult does not care whether Donald is losing his marbles. Biden's ads are focusing on Donald's unhinged mind, which it is! But the cult members don't care about that!

I think Biden needs to be using his bully pulpit more and educating the American public to what a dictator can do and will do, morally, financially, domestically, environmentally, and foreign policy...

American capitalist right wingers do not like democracy either. Unless they always get their insane way. Look what they did in Chile! Even the Pope wanted Ukraine to waive the white flag of surrender! This tyrants have worked together for thousands of years to enslave human minds and spirits! The right has got him their way ever since Reagan. Trashing the economy, the environment and the tax structure mostly. They have no positive policies to offer American citizens, only the promise their followers can be above the law! Become legalized criminals.

None of this is surprise to anyone who has ben paying attention since 2015. The Trump/Putin connection is strong and undeniable. Trump’s DOJ protected him, so did the Senate, and the Supreme Court still does. The corruption already runs very deep. The Republicans are working very hard to hold Trump’s mind together until the election. He knows he has been a criminal his whole life and he is beginning to be held accountable. He is wetting his pants. They have to edit his videos and keep what he says at his rallies private. Trump’s lifelong wish has been to become one of the world’s bullies who control all of the natural resources and has unquestionable power. The world’s bullies want him to win because it will wipe America off the map as a rival. They know Trump is stupid and crazy.

Despots have hated the Bill of Rights more than the rest of the Constitution and so they lie when they take the oath to protect and defend that Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

Surely there are reasons to suspect that Putin runs Repubs. But it is clear that Netanyahu runs the despot minded ruling class among both Dems and Repubs. We have loyalty oaths in 38 states wherein the Israeli government now limits First Amendment Rights of American citizens, thugs attacking students on American campuses engaged in peaceful protests protected by the First Amendment and attempts by Netanyahu to take away academic freedom from faculty of American campuses. https://theintercept.com/2024/06/02/gaza-student-protest-campus-rust-belt/

The corrupting influence of AIPAC bribes has become so great that the Democratic Party's Senator Charles Schumer is now trying to out-republican Republican John Boehner in his stunt to invite the same despot back for advice on how to govern Americans. Enough!!

We took a step toward getting back our governance from domestic enemies of the First Amendment of our Constitution last week. Now, it's time to take a step toward taking back power to govern that has been ceded to a foreign enemy of our Bill of Rights.

As a Jewish person running the risk of being put up against the Democratic Party's House Committee on Unamerican Activities, which just recently passed the Antisemitism Act, my main concern is how fascist leaders in America are using regular, unending warfare to against poor countries or those that refuse to cooperate with our transnational corporations. Biden has spent more on weapons and sold more weapons around the world than any other president in history, with nearly 60% of the weapons he has sold going to autocracies around the world (so much for the Democratic Party's preoccupation with preserving democracy). Biden and his ghouls have zero integrity and have conspired with other governments, most notably Israel, to undermine humanity and our own freedoms here at home. Allt he Trumpaphobia in the world cannot cleanse the moral and spiritual bankruptcy of a leader whose paramilitary is bruatlizing and slandering our educated youth (from Hillary Clinton to Biden to Pelosi to MSNBC, CNN etc) because they are standing up for peace. There is no return from that, and regardless of which mafia is running the show there is no hope for this country under the leadership of either political party. Excuse it all you want, call me all the names in the book (which your own propagandized minions will Thom not to worry), present the argument about Trump being "worse" than Biden (depends on who you ask eg the Palestinians, the people of Yemen, college students here at home and so on), but that relativism is lost when pregressivism morphs into nationalism.

No Mr. Kaufman, let us put this into perspective. Republicans sent American soldiers into Iraq (twice) and destroyed that country. Republicans sent American soldiers into Afghanistan to kill, destroy, stir up chaos and hatred for the U.S. It was Joe Biden who brought those American soldiers home after 20 years, the longest war in U.S. history. It is Israeli soldiers who are slaughtering Palestinian Muslims not American soldiers. Yes, Biden still supports Israel. But he is clearly drawing a line in the sand as Netanyahu becomes increasingly unhinged and dangerous.

As for the "educated youth" you speak of; the demonstrators on some of our elite college campuses constitute less than .01% of the 170,000,000 voters in the U.S. Not a large percentage, not a large number. I am personally in agreement with them that the Israelis should stop killing Palestinians. But this does not blind me to what Joe Biden has done so far.

Hi Cracker. Your comment reminds me that there is a difference between a problem and a difficulty.

The Jew vs Muslim conflict playing out in the Mideast is not a problem, if it were there would be a solution. There is no solution.

A two state "solution" will only result in a massive invasion and possibly an all out war with Islam. For my purposes I am defining Islam as Arab, though most of the worlds Muslims are no Arab, but they are commanded by a book written in Arabic, which is their sacred text, the Quran.

The state of Israel occupies land which Islam/Arabs consider sacred and holy, especially Jerusalem with the Haram al Sharif and al Asqa Mosque. It is considered sacrilege that the Jews "own"/occupy sacred Muslim soil.

If there is a Palestinian State, that state would include Gaza and the West Bank, thus the Jewish state would be sandwiched between two hostile Muslim ethnostates.

And we know that Israel will be the target of constant incursions and terrorist attacks, and if anyone expects Israel to sit by and take ti they are a fool. I woud not more would the many friends of HAMAS who post on this substack and others like Robert Reich's sit there and take it.

The result would be Israel invading the state of Palestine to punish HAMAS which has grown by leaps and bounds. A state invading another state would be an act of war, and now the UN really gets involved.

The UN is no neutral bystander. There are 57 Muslim ethnostates in the world, and there are 193 members of the UN. And this ethnostates have their hands on the spigot that controls the supply of oil, which every country in the world depends upon.

If I control the water, upon which your life depends, what are you going to do, other than submit to me.

The UN, especially the states that have no oil are going to bow to the oil producing states. And from what I have seen they already have. There is demonstrable favoritism and preference in the UN for Arab states. (Again I use Arab and Muslim interchangeably)

If Arab vs Israel is a problem, the only solution is the obliteration of one or the other.

That is something the world needs to face, and they are cowards and can't and won't.

The situation is a difficulty. Difficulties don't have solutions. The only thing you can do about a difficulty is to ameliorate, mitigate it's harm.

And efforts have been made, like the Egypt Arab truce, or the Oslo Accords, the first is tenuos and expensive to America, the last has been a subject of espionage by the co called Palestinians.

As regards calling them Palestine. I demur there never has been a state called Palestine. The Romans referred to the Region as Assyrian Palaestinia. The Arabs took it from the Roman Greco Empire in the 7th Century, the Turks took it from the Arabs, the West Bank belonged to Jordan, the Gaza strip to Egypt.

Both would still belong to their original owners had not they tried to wipe (genocide) the Jews in 1948. Israel defeated the invaders and did what any nation, including America, Europe and the ever expansionist Islamic world would do, and that is annex land that belonged to their enemies, in an attempt to strengthen their borders.

So long as Islam does not reform itself, like Christianity did, there is no solution to the Mideast situation, and there is no solution to Islam's Gender Apartheid problem either.

And there is no chance of that since the west, America especially, is back sliding into the old testament.

Kinda honored you took the time to provide a detailed response, but I think we would both agree the Israel/Hams War in and of itself is a complex and enigmatic.

A somewhat important insight I have gained so far in Mead’s book “Arc of a Covenant” is that the Jews who now make up a near majority of Israel’s population today are not the “Holocaust” wave nor their descendants. They are referred to as Mizrahi Jews who fled or were driven out of their homes by Arab governments and mobs in retaliation for the Israelis driving “Palestinians” off the land they were on in 1948. So, what we can surmise is that there is lots of literal bad blood between the displaced people of both sides.

Another maddening thing, among many, is that the Balfour Declaration, contained motivations driven to a large degree by English Zionist who saw the restoration of the Jews to their ancient homeland as fulfilling Biblical prophesy needed for the return of Jesus and the subsequent End Times stuff that makes Evangelicals go into glossolalia. Sorry, but this Revelations, Dominionist stuff is a huge contributor to this nightmare.

Ironically nobody seems to care much about all the other nations where people are horribly maltreated one iota.

Gotta run, but thanks for spotting the troll 👿

I agree in large part. Seems that you an I are on the same page, more or less

Mizrahi Jews are the Sepharidim that were kicked out of Muslim countries, and thus know what it is to live with the boot of Islam on your neck. They were second class citizens, dhimmi's, that had to pay an onerous poll tax (iizzyah), they are 55% of the Israeli population, Ashkenazim are 45%.

Thing is that Ashkenazim means people of Ashkenaz, Ashkenaz was the grandson or great grandson of japhet or Japeth a son of Noah.

Whereas the term semite means a descendant of Shem another son of Noah, (read genesis)

Thus Ashkenaz are not semites, but Mizrahi are. Ashkenaz descend from 10th century Khazars who converted to Judaism under King Bihlan, who was under pressure by Muslims to the south and Russions to the north to become Christian or Muslim, he chose a Third Way, since both claim Abraham as a patriarch.

That aside the Ashkenazim suffered horrible pogroms from the Russians, Poles and Germans and had to endure an extinction level event by the NAZI's.

The founder of Zionism was heodor Herzl[a] (2 May 1860 – 3 July 1904)[3] was an Austro-Hungarian Jewish journalist, lawyer, writer, playwright and political activist who was the father of modern political Zionism. , he wasn't English, but spoke English. his story here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodor_Herzl, you will want to read it.

He toured Europe enticing Jews to migrate to Jerusalem, after the British established their mandate when the Turks lost the region the Romans called Assyria Palaestina to the Brits after WWI.

There were already Jews living in the area, with Arabs and Bedouin, and from time to time they suffered pogroms as well. These early Zionists bought the land from the Arabs, whom of course didn't really own it, the Turks did, then the British.

One major correction, The Jews never sought the return of Jesus, in fact they never head of this Jesus, except by way of the Christians. The Jews have been awaiting for milliena, the arrival, not the return of a massiach, a messiah.. the annointed one.

By the way there is an interpolation in Josephus The Jewish Wars, where he mentions Jesus whom a messiah named Jesus. That passage was inserted, probably by Piso, for there is no way,Josephus who was a practicing Jew, would ever call anyone a messiah.

You are correct, all of those campus idiots, the professional leftists like Amy Goodman and her crew, her staff is mostly Arab, ever, ever talk about, much less build tent cities, block bridges because of female genital mutiliation, slavery in Arabia and the UAE and gender apartheid, or the slaying of gays, or as in Iran forcing them to undergo sexual reassignment surgery, and yet they claim to espouse humanitarian and democratic values. When what they are in reality is old time Marxists, who see the world through the myopic lens of western imperialism and colonialism, while turning a blind eye to Russian, Chinese and third world imperialism and horrors.

I held Chomsky as a fountain of knowledge, read the Nation and financially contributed to Democracy Now, but when I sniffed out that they were supporting Putin, not directly, but indirectly, accusing Urkraine and the U.S. of kinds of malevolence. that did. I realize that what they really were, were Marxists.

And no leftist would be a lMarcist t if they knew that Marx was a proto libertarian.,of which I have written much on this and other articles, here and at hartmannreport.com

In short Marx brief was against the middle class, there was no term like than then, so he called them the petite bourgeoisie, little bourgeoisie, meaning there was a greater bourgeoisie, whom he neglected to castigate. He said jack squat about the ruling class, because it was they that supported the wife and child abuser, via The League of Just men. A Marxian society is a society of the privileged and the laborer. That's it, more or less Alexander Hamilton's idea of a Republic, and even the Roman with it's Plebes and it's Patricians. Eve actually they created a middle class of a sorts called Equestrians.

I have to add. The whole Noah fable was cribbed from the Babylonians, When the Habiru,as the Egyptians called them, live in Babylon some of them were learned and worked in the library, and thus knew of the Sumerian creation story that survives in part in the EPic of Gilgamesh,in which there was a flood and the hero named Utnapishtim, which has more or less the same meaning as Noah.

There was no Noah, thus no Japhet or Shem or any of the nonsense, but billions of Jews, Christians and Muslims believe that there were. and what horror and grief has that fable caused.
