I liked the use of the word purge in this piece. As a noun it can mean a laxative. The question is who; who will be the person(s) able to rid this body politic of its toxins? I have some ideas, but why would anyone try to help THEM?

I'm sure Hungary would like to get back the Transylvania region of NW Romania that it held under the old empire and took again when allied with the Nazis. Also, the northern part of Serbia (Vojvodina) has a big ethnic Hungarian population that it could claim and partially occupied in the war. These issues are below the surface as all the states are in the EU and the big powers wouldn't allow more Balkan wars. But who knows how this will play out if the West weakens. Fascism like this fans the flames of nationalism and that can get out of control.
