How many women know this history? One in ten? One in fifty? As recently as 1975, my Mom was shocked that PG&E wouldn't let her co-sign for my first utility account. Had to have Dad's signature. But then, if some critical mass of women knew, they probably would just assume that Ted Cruz was on their side, surely, anyhow. Besides, nobody they know is ever going to get raped, or have a miscarriage.... Come to think of it, PG&E clerk selected my husband's name to put on old account never before in his name 2011 when I was closing other defunct household accounts. (Only I was present with identification.) I didn't notice until later. He's dead, but my power bill is still in his name. Oh, well. Only female, after all.
