Does "calling your representative or senator" actually accomplish anything at all? Every time I've tried it I got either a non-stop busy signal, or a message that the number is no longer in service, or a recording saying leave a number and they'll get back to me (which never happens). Letters I've written, either on paper or online, are either ignored, or, if I do get a response, it is nothing more than a form letter. I quit doing that a long time ago. Maybe if your rep is one of the good ones, like Bernie or AOC, but those would be voting the right way anyway.
I have since moved to Canada. I have yet to test the procedures here, it'll be interesting to see if there is a contrast.
