I suggest reviewing the book " Propaganda " by Edward L. Bernays, " the father of public relations " whom had strategies on manipulation of the masses in a democratic society. By the use of repetitious lies by a few to control the mind of public opinion. Now what should be the strategy of Democratic leaders to counter propaganda ? One of Bernays quotes basically said if any body of people know the truth it is their duty to disseminate that truth.
