This is my first, "thank you, Professor" response. Always puzzled over the "Two Santas" scenario. I'll be going back and re-reading this history. So sad that enough Americans enough of the time can be relied on to "buy into" whatever. But that never was Bill Clinton. You could not convince me that he didn't knowingly, willfully join the program.

I felt that Reagan and supply-side economics was bad when I was in college in the 80s, but I didn’t *know* why until now. Wanniski’s “two Santas” is the economic equivalent of the Powell Memo.
