Nothing will bring down the Trump Administration before there is a Democratic majority in the House and in the Senate and even then nothing is certain since even if the House votes to impeach there have to be enough Republicans willing to vote to convict. If they did not have the balls after 1/6 to vote to convict, there is not a high expectation that the corruption and the bigotry and the economic batshit idiotic policies and the compliance with Putin’s wishes and the betrayal of our now former allies or gutting of the civil service and the disregard for due process and the First Amendment will suddenly matter enough.

Yesterday, on Global Gambit substack/podcast,I heard, for the first time, Robert Pape,he has his own substack/podcast.

I learned from him. This is what I learned. Regimesare not takendown by demonstrations or revolutions, they follow the implosion of regimes.

Regimes are taken down, internally, by it's own contradictions, by its failure, by discontent from within.

Qadaffi wasn't taken down by the Arab Spring or popular resistance, but because there was rot and discontent from within.. Regimes rely on a state police force like the VIVAK in Iran,GESTAPO, the KGB/FSB, and DHS/DOJ (ICE) to maintain power.

The Czarst regime of Nicholas II fell because of incompetence, corruption stupidity and internal conflicts among the nobility and courtiers, which created fertile ground for a popular uprising, co opted by the Bolsheviks, but it had already fallen apart

The same can be said of the French Revolution, many of the revolutionaries were themselves of the nobility. The Marquis de Lafayette of American revolution fame, was himself both nobility and revolutionary.

The American Revolution was not a revolution, because there was no regime change. it was a mixed war, a war of the government against it's own citizens, and the government had declared war on the citizens of the colonies by restricting commerce, enforcing a monopoly of the British East India Company, and by discriminatory taxation..

In other words treating the colonies and people like shit, as compared to those living in the rest of the empire. The people of India and other non English were not citizens of England, but subjects, servants, slaves without rights or consideration. The few English that lived there were overseers, not colonists.
