The "hunger games" citizenship contest is a reflection of the racist conservative mind, believing in competition as the magic elixir for all the world's problems (provided, of course, that they themselves are not subject to competition). In the lumber camps of East Texas in the late 1800's, it was common for bosses to pit one ethnicity against another to see who got to keep their jobs, so this is nothing new.

BRUCE! BRUCE! BRUCE!

It's rich (that phrase has a whole new meaning) the Psychopath-in-Chief is ranting that The Boss should only complain within our borders. Apparently that is HIS job. Trump constantly talks sh*t about America and Americans when he is overseas. Springsteen is a national treasure, and I can certainly see why TRump is jealous of real talent and good looks.

Trump and his wrecking crew just keep losing---it is happening everyday. SCOTUS got them yesterday. All last week we saw PUBLIC defections within Congress about Medicaid. They got right on those TV cameras and said it like it is. People will die for the sake of tax breaks for the rich if Trump's Big Beautiful Budget is passed.

Amazing how much the truth hurts Donald! That is how we do it. See you in the streets.

THOM! THOM! THOM!

We should keep an eye on Medicare legislation in congress. The reason those few republicans tanked the bill is because the cuts were not deep enough for them. Such a strange ally.

Senator Josh Hawley said it best, but you're right about some of them, Chris.

This was in an American Hospital Assoc. article about a letter they sent to their leadership:

“Many hospitals — particularly in rural and underserved areas — rely heavily on Medicaid funding, with some receiving over half their revenue from the program alone,” the representatives wrote. “Providers in these areas are especially at risk of closure, with many unable to recover. When hospitals close, it affects all constituents, regardless of healthcare coverage.”

The letter was signed by Reps. David Valadao, R-Calif., Don Bacon, R-Neb., Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., Rob Bresnahan Jr., R-Pa., Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., Jen Kiggans, R-Va., Young Kim, R-Calif., Robert Wittman, R-Va., Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., Nick LaLota, R-N.Y., Andrew Garbarino, R-N.Y., and Jeff Hurd, R-Colo.

I guess you missed the Don Bacon discussion. The other day, I laid this out, quoting from Hawley....but he's in the senate.

We need to find and encourge House Republicans who say the same.

Thanks for including the Springsteen clip, Thom. Important words from an important ambassador. We must ensure that the America he describes--and loves--survives.

LA Times environmental writer Sammy Roth has a twice-weekly column named 'Boiling Point.' Heat dome in Tx. Killer tornadoes in east central 'murka. Massive solar flares all week. Tick Tock, Tick, Tock. Idiot EOs trying to set the clocks back 75-150 years, for what?

This is the two-dimensional time warp of QF reality that the nihilists CANNOT COMPREHEND.

1 - hyper-religious fantasies work because they require no proof, only obedience to fear;

2 - this religious hypocrisy fuels the need for demons - enter phony fears based on Race? What is that, exactly? Paranoia of any other that is not some tight version of mostly melanin-less males.

3 - All females, unless they are arm candy or useful as pornography, are forms of chattel, not real humans.

4 - this creates the 'fake' need for male dominance of all energetics. Even the sun's energy must be controlled, if possible, so that men can control and destroy using 'ancient sunlight.'

5 - men appear to now be losing almost all sense of logical/ethical faculties, losing their responsible agency, and replacing it with addicted consumptions and lusts for violence.

6 - this follows the glaring truths of a mass of major male human failures of 'management' of the world they believe they have possessed for centuries, a truth that must be DENIED.

7 - growing skepticism and outright rejection, by the masses across the globe, of the pyramid power scheme of male human domination over all of Earth.

8 - paranoia within the nihilist class is truly deadly, just ask Nietzsche. Too many mad kings in this mishmash of mammon worship, an overabundance of toxic Id and a deep-seated realization of failure, even with all the marbles being in their bag. They know they cannot pull it off, whatever 'it' is.

9 - only possible move left is to squeeze the life out of every contrary fact facing their big lies.

10 - human Earth gulag, which QE will strangle to death, with an outcome that will almost certainly make nuclear winter look balmy. Sixth Extinction, coming soon to your neighborhood.

11 - the innocent, or nearly so, will perish along with the guilty. No zero-sum is possible, never was.

To see life as a game of win or lose is to have already lost. If you do not think it can happen here, you are not paying attention to our history. It has been happening since the Greeks and Persians, and our 'murkan Roman model has taken it to the extreme logical conclusion.

Time to die? Or time to defend life, in all its forms. QE is not bonded to biotic life. Life is bonded to QE. It can do whatever it chooses to do. It is the only true reality of freedom, and even strong and weak nuclear forces have rules, so nothing is free.

I've been repeating something like a skipped record since this orange buffoon was handed the keys to this country the first time. The reactionary businessmen and politicians controlling this country are using Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale as an instruction manual. Even the woman in Georgia used as an incubator is right out of an episode of the series. Don't believe me? Watch it for yourself.

1. Why is the DHS looking at producing a reality show where immigrants compete for citizenship? Ans. Modern equivalent of "bread and circuses."

Here in Baghdad by the Sea we have an ongoing modern verson of Queen for a Day.

Today's episode. "I was fortunate to become a citizen. Does Trump want people like me in the U.S.? | Opinion"

How about "Florida woman faces $1.82 million ICE fine for not leaving U.S. after removal order By Nidia Cavazos"

2. DEI. IMHO virtually all female Trump appointees are DEI hires. Especially Blacks and hispanics.

3. FBI has ordered its agents to deprioritize white collar corporate crime and instead spend their time looking for brown-skinned people who’re in America without permission.

Start with their employers. Trump and Trump Inc was a leader in the field. Caught using illegal workers on jobsites. Had to pay fines and make restitution.

AI: certain industries are known to have a higher concentration of undocumented workers than others. Industries with a High Share of Undocumented Workers:

Construction: This industry consistently ranks high in terms of undocumented worker employment. A Visual Capitalist chart shows that construction has the highest share of undocumented workers, making up 13.7% of the workforce. In 2014, the Pew Research Center reported that unauthorized immigrants accounted for 13% of the construction workforce.

Agriculture: The agricultural sector also relies heavily on undocumented labor. According to Visual Capitalist, undocumented workers represent 12.7% of the agriculture workforce. The Pew Research Center noted that unauthorized immigrants made up 17% of the agriculture industry in 2014.

Hospitality: The leisure and hospitality sector is another significant employer of undocumented workers. estimates that over one million undocumented immigrants work in this industry, representing 7.1% of the workforce. In 2014, 18% of unauthorized immigrants worked in leisure and hospitality, compared to 10% of U.S.-born workers, according to the Pew Research Center.

Other Services: This broad category, including services like auto repair, barber shops, and religious organizations, also has a notable presence of undocumented workers. USAFacts indicates that "Other services" had 21.9% immigrant workers in 2023.

Where I live, start with the Doral and Mar a Lago.

Maybe De Santis can identify them. We have "Operation Tidal Wave" resulting in over 1,100 arrests in one week. This includes cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement agencies, as well as efforts to identify, apprehend, detain, and deport undocumented immigrants. Florida has taken a proactive stance, signing 287(g) agreements with many local law enforcement agencies, allowing them to question and detain individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.

I'm watching Don Bacon on Velshi. The BIG NEWS today is the disfunction in the House.

None of the members of the House budget committee who voted against the Trump budget were part of Jerry Weiss' scenario. https://jerryweiss.substack.com/

5 "conservatives" https://budget.house.gov/about/members took on MAGA Mike.

Velshi asked Bacon about tariffs. He said, in essence, any Reagan Republican would remove Trump tariff authority. To do that, they need all of the House Dems.

Plus Bacon said Trump has a "moral blindscape" re Ukraine. Retired General. Russia is not a superpower. Mexico with nuclear weapons.

Says anyone who served has to oppose Hegseth, SIGNAL.

Says we are better than any other country in agriculture. Says Trump has broken free trade. In essence, we are losing the trade war.
