1. The deference given by the 9th Circuit to Trump in the appeal from the LA National Guard case. IMHO fealty is beyond "deference."

2. Senate parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough has ruled that several key pieces of the Big Crappy bill to implement Trump’s agenda run afoul of the Byrd Rule and must be taken out of the package to allow it to pass with a simple majority vote on a special procedural fast track.

The parliamentarian ruled against several provisions under the jurisdictions of the Senate committees on Banking, Environment and Public Works, and Armed Services.

These included a provision that would have placed a funding cap on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), which would have cut $6.4 billion from the agency by reducing its maximum funding to zero percent of the Federal Reserve’s operating expenses. The funding cut would have eliminated the agency.

The creation of the CFPB was one of the central reforms of the Dodd-Frank Act that Democrats passed in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.

She also ruled against language cutting $1.4 billion in costs by reducing the pay of Federal Reserve staff, cutting $293 million by reducing the Office of Financial Research funding and cutting $771 million by eliminating the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

3. “Detachment 201: The Army’s Executive Innovation Corps” that says its goal is to “fuse cutting-edge tech expertise with military innovation.”

When I finished my reserve committment at age 32, I was told I could get a direct promotion via a Congressional appointment. I didn't persue it but I knew some who did. Probably required campaign donations.

4. Medicare Plus. If you are pushed into it, it may be your pathway to riches. Get a lawyer.

5. "Trump’s sudden “two week pause” on deciding to bomb Iran is simply a favor to his owner and handler, Vlad."

It's clear Trump cannot distinguish friend from foe. One story being told is that the Gulf states actiually encouraged the attack on Iran.

Vlad craves high oil prices so as the reptile he is, sheds allegator tears.

The Armed Forces have regularly recruited Dentists, Doctors, Surgeons and Lawyers (for Judge Advocate General), and Chaplains, by giving them direct commissions, then they send them to a two week course to teach them how to wear the uniform to salute, and acquaint them with the UCMJ, JAG officers receive what we might call technical training in the UCMJ

Dentists are usually commissioned as Captains, Chaplains, Doctors, Surgeons as Majors.

George Herbert Walker Bush, as governor of Texas, gave his son Dubya, a direct commission as a 2nd Lt in the Texas National Guard, when he graduated from enlisted basic training, he never even learned the rudiments of being an officer.

I know, and in World War 2 this was done on a larger scale. An example is Frank Capra, the director who was brought in to the army as a major to make movies. He did such a good job he ended up a full colonel with the Distinguished Service Medal. But that was a different time, this seems more like stroking egos and incidentally getting stronger control over tech firms. After all, these aren't full-time jobs. And at least it is a good thing that they'll be limited duty officers. Until the mid-19th century the British army used to sell officers commissions. That ended after a little matter called the Charge of the Light Brigade, which could be traced back to a man who had paid to lead them and then blindly followed a poorly written order.

William S. Knudsen, a highly successful automotive industry executive, was directly commissioned as a lieutenant general in the United States Army in 1942

Abandoning the pay to play system in the British Army only marginally improved the army. It was still fucked up by the class system, whereby the officers were graduates of the English public school system.

The sons of the upper class in America, since at least the civil war, except for a few in WWII, that had political ambitions, avoid military service. And the officer corps, although required to have a college degree, are sons and daughters of middle America, and that includes appointments to the service academies.

I am not lauding, the NAZIs, but (perhaps because of a lack of choices) but some of the Germans officer corps were former enlisted men. Not so much the Wehrmacht, as it was still an elitist institution with a Prussian tradition, but not so with Waffen SSm which was a more formidable and fanatic foe than the Wehrmacht or Heer.

Josef "Sepp" Dietrich: A butchers apprentice by trade, Dietrich joined the German army in 1911 and served as a sergeant during WWI. He later rose to the rank of SS-Obergruppenführer and commanded several units, including the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler.

Other SS officers and NCOs: According to some historians, the SS was more inclined than the traditional German army to promote individuals based on merit and loyalty, regardless of their social background. This opened up opportunities for some former NCOs to achieve high ranks, including general officer positions within the SS, like Wilhelm Mohnke, who rose to the rank of SS-Brigadeführer.

The Waffen SS, was Hitlers foreign legion, the Wehrmacht would not accept non Germans, however Himmler was building his own army and one that would eventully displace the Wehrmacht, and although it had some German or ethnic German units, most of the Waffen SS was comprised of foreign nationals assigned to national units. There was even a RussianWaffen SS, comprised of Russian POW's, Indian, Arab, Romanian, Danish, Norse, Belgium and the notorious Charlemagne Brigade made of French. They were the last defenders of Berlin.

There was even a British free corps composed of soldiers captured in Africa, there were about 54 of them.

Did the Senate Parliamentarian carve out An Attack on the Judicial Branch?

The first of these outrageous policies — buried in Section 70302 of the legislation— would severely restrict federal courts’ authority to hold government officials in contempt if they violate judicial orders.

How about this: The second problematic provision — found within Section 43201(c) of the House reconciliation bill — would impose a 10-year ban on the enforcement of all state and local laws that regulate artificial intelligence (AI), including rules for AI’s use in political campaigns and elections.

Currently, more than 20 states have already enacted laws to address election misinformation and manipulation made easy by new AI tools. These laws are meant to address real challenges for our democracy, like fake content that misleads voters about the candidates or issues on their ballot.

I haven’t seen any reporting that she has.

According to AI generative: The Senate parliamentarian removed provisions from the "Big, Beautiful Bill" that were deemed to violate the Byrd Rule, which restricts what can be included in budget reconciliation bills. Specifically, the parliamentarian struck down portions related to repealing aspects of the Inflation Reduction Act and emission standards for certain vehicles. The parliamentarian also raised Byrd Rule violations regarding GOP proposals to repeal certain aspects of the Inflation Reduction Act and a proposal from the Environment and Public Works Committee to repeal emission standards for some model year 2027 light-duty and medium-duty vehicles. , but not the attack on the Judicial Branch or the ban on regulating AI

The down side is huge.

On other sites, I've been addressing risk management. This is deja vu. We had bad intelligence in Iraq, Afdhanistan, Vietnam that cost millions of lives and trillions of dollars.

On the other hand, if the mullahs are vulnerable as depicted, an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure.

I'm not advocating war... Just things are never what they seem initially and from experience our intelligence sucks.

But they had a revolution in '79. They were our allies, even after we overthrew their elected government in 1952-1953. They were a westernized, modernized counry.

The mullas installed Sharia law. Women had few rights. They became militartistic. They had a bloody war with Iraq.

Just a few years ago, they had mass protests, pepole executed, tens of thousands jailed.

I probably laid out how Israel kept Trump out of the loop. When Israel attacked, Rubio denied all knowledge.

Trump lied about conversations with Netanyahu, tried to take credit for any success.

Trump gave Syria status at a time Israel was protecting the Syrian Druze from massacre. Said he liked the looks of an Isis murderer. https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-855242

Trump also did a "deal" with the Houthis, without including Israel. As soon as it was signed the Houthis sent missles into Israel.

Meanwhile, Iran is supplying Russia with arms, and other stuff.

As regards this will he attack Iran thing. I just opened a newsletter that says that the B-2 bombers have left the U.S.

That may be for a warning to Iran, but will there be follow through.

Here is what I know. Putin has assets like Tulsi Gabbard, Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson.

These assets are making a case against bombing Iran (Carlson did a good job of ridiculing a neo con - Ted Cruz.

Russia and Iran are now part of a new axis of evil, Russia, China, Iran and North Korea.

Russia is very dependent on Iran, especially for their Shahed (Martyr) drones, and Ballistic Missiles: The US and UK have confirmed that Iran has transferred shipments of Fath-360 close-range ballistic missiles to Russia.

The U.S. (under Trump) and Israel voted against a UN Resolution condemning the Russian attack on Ukraine.

Trump and Bibi have, apparently, a special relationship with Putin. Now Bibi is taking aggressive action against Putin's ally/partner - Iran.

There is one thing that Bibi and Donald have in common, they are mercurial and shift allegiances, priorities on a dime. But so far, Trump's alliance with Putin seems solid, discount the verbiage that spills from his mouth. One minute he is lambasting Putin and anyone else, then the next he is stroking their male member.

He gets angry and disappointed with Putin, but still won't ship Ukraine so much as a bullet, and persistently tries to get Zelenskyy to surrender.

Putin needs Iran, Krasnov is a KGB asset https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-u4d6Zwdns

Trump excels in bullying threatening, but only follows through if the hapless victim is weaker.

Iran is not weak, Trump is an asset of Putin, Putin needs Iran.

Trump won't bomb Iran.

And more importantly, Trump above all else wants a Nobel Peace Prize, because that black guy who preceded him got one, and he can't let a black beat him.

Will Trump nuke Iran? I think the odds are high that he will. He would be the first president to use the might and fright of a mushroom cloud since WWII. Hard to see a megalomaniac pass up a chance to get a chapter in America's history books. Also, there is urgency. He must know that if the Democrats retake both houses of Congress, impeachment is a given. Only this time, the remaining cowed red legislators will be able to restore their self-respect for bending their proverbial knee by voting to impeach.

I had to chuckle at Thom's reference to "corrupt Mayor Adams." My brain went: "Indeed, when has there ever been a corruption-free NYC mayor?"

Finally, as a retired Navy Captain, my reaction to "Detachment 201" was that the goal has nothing to do with wising up senior officers about technology. It is all about infusing yet more leadership incompetence into the military. Let us not overlook that Hegseth was a failed officer - separated for gross bad judgment. Technically, he resigned because there was no way he would ever see another promotion given his record. Also, despite boasting 2 combat tours, it was all desk warfare. He never earned a Combat Action Badge, indicating participation in at least one firefight. Moreover, Hegseth has written extensively in criticism of DOD uniformed leaders, demonstrating that he is clueless as to what "real leadership" entails. That incompetence ensured that he would be an ideal toady SECDEF if needed for another Trump attempt to seize absolute power over the entire government.

Concerning the privitazation of Medicare, Towamencin township (PA) supervisors accepted an offer 3 years ago to sell our sewer system for $104M. Our illustrious Pa state passed a bill in 2016 permitting this. Where does the buyer get the $$$ to pay for this? Simple, they borrow it. The PUC then cranks that into their new rate hikes. So we would have started paying for the cost of this company to borrow this $$$ in our rates. For a couple of years, I couldn't figure out why or state legislature refused to modify this bill when people started complaining. 3 years later I realized that this industry is very generous of in donating to the campaigns of PA state legislatures. No wonder the PA state legislature will never change this horrible law which takes $$$ from the middle class and gives it to this industry. Fortunately, some brilliant people fought this and stopped the sale. This is exactly what happened on the federal level with Medicare part C. Our pockets are being picked by our lawmakers and given to companies in return for campaign donations. HORRIBLE!!!

Figure out how to triangulate Putin, Trump and Netanyahu on this one. Did Bibi really have permission or did he just screw with TRump AND Putin?

The bombers supposedly left Missouri headed to Diego Garcia. It looks like it is a straight shot from there to Iran---just water below.

The talk of tactical nukes makes sense if you are a psycho like TRump. If the bunker buster doesn't work, the surrounding area is ruined. He supposedly said he was the hunted and now he is the hunter. Maybe he didn't just mean Americans and immigrants.

I don't believe Trump is calculating enough in his mind to deliberately concoct a distraction. He seems to take a scatterbrained approach to problems as they arise, making them worse because of his bloated ego. He governs like an inept plate-spinning act--broken dishes everywhere. Because he is so easily distracted, the media covering his antics also labors to keep up with the newest news, therefore losing track of the older news. Then we lose track as well. It's not by design, but by incompetence that Trump escapes most scrutiny for any one thing he does.

Great link and I enjoyed hearing from someone closer to Iran than I am now. Suffice it to say no one in public will say anything against the IRGC or the Ayatollah. That is an instant death sentence, after the torture to get you to out others. Same with the Shah in 1977-78. Every public shop had a picture of the Shah, Princess Farah, and son Shah Reza. I thought it wonderful that they all loved them so much. I commented to them often that those were great pictures of a beautiful family. They smiled and agreed. Those same shopkeepers were joyfully handing food to the machine gun carrying rioters cruising Tehran streets after they toppled the Shah and he departed. The Army disbanded. The joy in the people was astounding to me. I now understand their love of the Shah was a ruse to keep from getting arrested.

There is a problem. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard , is an entity among itself, even decapitating the top of the command structure will not neuter the organization.

Anymore than killing Yahya Sinwar, neutered HAMAS.

To have regime change in Iran, one must be able to render the IIRG, impotent.

HAMAS is an idea, so is Hezabollah, as is Mokba Israel. You can't kill ideas.

You can decapitate leadership, but there is always someone there to fill the void.

Israel thoroughly decapitated the leadership of HAMAS, but the likes of Yahya Sinwars younger brother, Mohammad stepped up and took his place, and I am sure that other decaptiated heads were replaced.

HAMAS is still in charge. It has a so called Ministry of Health, that issues daily reports on how many HAMAS fighters have been killed., and HAMAS has a negotiating team, that rejects proposals. That is dead?

I know about the resistance favoring the Pavlavi in exile.

I watched your video, first it is from Fox, so consider the source. The IIRG has a lock on the population, and the regime has a secret police that makes the Savak seem like the Boy Scouts.

Have you considered that this is Murdoch psyops. Murdoch is a diehard champion of Israel, and I suggest a supporter of Netanyahu.

Murdoch wants to bomb Iran, so naturally he will promote this Tousi and Pavlavi

Great update. Juneteenth was an all out multifaceted psyop. Jeff Tiedrich put together a really good summary (linked below).

Between this post and his, the only missing event is the raising of what we could call two “oppression poles” on the Whitehouse lawn. The opposite of colonial “freedom poles”, put up liberally by the Sons of Liberty, these new poles stand 88 feet high to signal the alt right that they can feel at home saluting the Whitehouse (88 in alt-right speak seems to translate directly to HH, or the Musk salute).

Trump speaks and answers questions at the raising. He reports that an anonymous source at treasury has told him that the tariffs have generated 88 billion in additional unexpected revenue. He explains that putting in new flagpoles is something he wanted to do in the first term when he was “the hunted”, but it’s appropriate in this term now that he is the hunter.

Did you happen to catch the Tucker Carlson interview with Bannon where he lays out Churchill’s symbolic representation as someone who jailed the opponents of the war, where some of them died? It’s worth watching Bannon dodge Carlson’s question about whether he is prepared to go back to jail for his belief that DJT shouldn’t get US troops involved in Iran.
