Yep! This is the most corrupt government in my 78 years of life in America.
Trump makes me want to eat bananas. POTUS is corrupt but not being prosecuted because he owns DOJ and SCOTUS, and he is not being impeached for his 100s of crimes because he owns the Legislature - both houses. So much for checks and balances - just checks for Trumpcoins, watches, bibles, Teslas, etc.
One new thing, Bloomberg just scooped that Trump plans to meet (illegally on US soil - AK) with indicted international criminal Putin to work out the details of Russia's victory over Ukraine which Trump will then call his big beautiful deal as he rams it down Zelensky's throat - Z is not invited to the party, of course.
Everything that Trump is doing, is destroying this country and reducing it to a powerless, barely developed state. This meeting with Putin will result in America pulling all support out of Ukraine and throwing support to Russia. Maybe Putin has offered him the role of permanent satrap..
I know it is hard to digest, but the America we knew disappeared on Jan 20, 2025, and it is irretrievable. Humpty was pushed off the wall, and there is no way to put him back together. The executive is in control of a tyrant, the legislature is in control of the legislature, and apparently irrevocably.the judiciary is a charade, Kabuki theater, the few courts that rule against the tyrant, are reversed by the appellate court or the supreme court, and where not the tyrant ignores the courts and there is no one and no organization that can stop the tyrant as he controls the organs of law enforcement.
Does anyone think that the SS would have arrested Hitler?
That the Wehrmacht would have defied him?
The only solution is secession, with no Ft Sumter, if not that then an interstate compact, wherein Democratic states (those with a trifecta and there are 15 of them) agree to disband the national guard, create a state guard with loyalty oath to the state constitution, rehire the former national guard troops, shipping over their rank and service credits.
Direct all corporations, under threat of state law, to send the taxes withheld to the State Bureau of taxes.
But no act of aggression, no Ft Sumter. This will present problems for states that have a significant military presence, like California, Washington. But that can be dealt with smartly.
The 8 Great Lake States and the other 8 Canadian border states can slide their northern borders down to their feet. Then I could be a much prouder, healthier and nicer citizen.
Good point. I live in Washings ton state, and am going to try and publicize for a petition to secede and join Canada.
Well the state is actually two states. East of the Cascades is Alabama, red necked agrarian. West of the Cascades is modern, civilized, ports, lumber, fishing, industrial. Problem is Boeing, what would Boeing want, big influence in the state.
A billboard with the message "Will the last person leaving SEATTLE -- Turn out the lights" was put up in April 1971 near Sea-Tac International Airport. It was created by real estate agents Bob McDonald and Jim Youngren as a humorous response to the economic downturn caused by the aerospace industry's decline, specifically the "Boeing Bust",

The USA I was born into 86 years ago, no longer exists. It can't be broken up, and as regards Putin, Trump and he are playing a game, BFF's forever, they are meeting in Alaska as to how to divvy up the world between them. Just as FDR, Churchill and Stalin did at Yalta.
Putin has the goods on Krasnov, and the notion that Trump is angry with
Except that Trump has already divided this country. Might as well make it official and declare a new country of true democracy. The only problem is what about all the Dems and never-Trumpers in the Republican majority states? They might have to move.
If you were a chess player, you'd move 4th district Dan Newhouse (R) (since 2015) and 5th district Michael Baumgartner (R) (since 2025) to become Dems to save the Constitution.
Add 9 like that in California. Clifff Bentz in Oregon.
Is TRump meeting with his handler to figure out what the hell he should do when someone like Senator Wyden finally proves the money flow?
Maybe it is a dry-run in case he needs to escape when the "jig is up". Russia is such a short flight from there. No one is going to question it if TRump decides to meet Putin on or near his plane.
The more people talk, the more it sounds like whatever is in the Epstein Files might lead to something financial. Tax evasion? Jeffrey liked to advise people in that area and we know TRump hasn't paid any. He does like to talk about Al Capone, and he is always telling us indirectly what he is worried about.
The proverbial sh*t is going to hit the fan. Can't you feel it? He needs to see Putin in person. How convenient that he has a war to use as an excuse!
Great election and donation advice, Thom. See you in the streets.
We watch Times Radio, UK. https://www.youtube.com/@ListenToTimesRadio Kyive Independent. Today, Russian flight delays lasted for several hours, leading to large crowds forming at Sochi Airport. The disruption also affected airports in Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk, and Norilsk, according to the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office, which reported that around 1,000 passengers were left waiting for their flights. In July, nearly every day of the month, at least one operating Russian airport was temporarily shut down. "This hits the morale of the Russian people," Ivan Stupak, a military commentator and former officer of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), told the Kyiv Independent. https://kyivindependent.com/dozens-of-flights-delayed-at-russias-sochi-airport-following-reported-drone-attacks/
Although Russia had a major summer initiative, bombs civilians, the Trump;/Putin meeting comes at a time when Ukrainians have eliminated most Russian air power, Russian oil and power facilitues have been bombed, and the Russian economhy is close to bankruptcy. Russia's economy is facing significant challenges despite some initial resilience to sanctions and wartime spending. While the economy saw growth in 2023 and 2024, driven by increased military spending, it's now showing signs of strain with slowing growth, high inflation, and potential debt crises.
Since January the "recorded aerial attacks from Moscow have reached their highest levels of the war", despite the president declaring he would "bring an end to fighting in just one day if returned to office". Further data from the Ukrainian military also revealed that Russia has increased its production of ballistic missiles by 66% in the past year, and has ramped up the size of its barrages consistently through the summer.
But according to an April 2025 estimate in Russia Matters, which keeps a daily tally of battlefield casualties, more than 790,000 Russian personnel had been killed or injured. In June, Russia's wartime toll reached a "historic milestone", said The Guardian, with more than a million troops killed or injured since the start of the invasion, according to the UK Ministry of Defence. This corresponds with figures released by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies think tank, which puts Russian military deaths at up to 250,000 and total casualties, including the wounded, at over 950,000.
Putin's got five million for a TRump Gold Card---maybe he will come to the States. That would be a great way for our dictator to add insult to injury.
Maybe they will plan a getaway together. In my dreams Donald, Bibi, Bashir, and Vlad are all in The Hague where they belong, and we are telling all the other murdering bastards they are next.
If Russia loses the war Putin is toast and will have his head spiked on top of the kremlin. So there will be no escape path for comrade krasnov. May he be buried in a faux gold coffin.
Speaking of Vance's "whatever floats his boat" moment in Ohio, this is the first evidence of vice-presidential arrogance since...the last time Trump was president. In 2019, Mike Pence took criticism for rolling an eight-car motorcade onto Mackinac Island, in northern Michigan for a Republican meeting there. The island is known for its no-cars policy, going back over a century. Transportation on the island is by bicycle or horse-drawn carriage. Every previous presidential visitor had followed that protocol.
Here are 100 protest signs. The moment demands protest. To each it should be unmistakable—urgent and morally unassailable. I speak for justice, duty, and shared humanity. Act now for those we must protect. Rise. We have protests to do. Good trouble.
Protests alone are ineffective. I am full cognizant that there is an element of the American public that firmly believes that protests can change policy. But I can't think of any peaceful protest (and that includes the aftermath) that achieved anything.
The suffrage movement didn't achieve anything, until the party in power realized that by giving women the vote they would double their votes.
Thom and other experts disagree. Examples include the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S. for its impact on legislation and social change, the Anti-Apartheid Movement in South Africa for achieving political and racial equality, the Indian Independence Movement for leading to the nation's sovereignty, and you're wrong about the Suffrage Movement for securing voting rights for women. It was international. Suffragists from the United States and other parts of the world collaborated across national borders. They wrote to each other; shared strategies and encouragement; and spearheaded international organizations, conferences, and publications that in turn spread information and ideas. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_women%27s_suffrage
Evidence shows nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – need a threshold of 3.5% of the population per Erica Chenoweth, a political scientist at Harvard.
I said protests ALONE Daniel, The ones that proved successful were accompanied by violence, either in the aftermath, like the assassination of MLK Jr, or in the protest themselves, like the March of the Edmund Pettis Bridge.
I've said it before. The Brits didn't leave India because of Ghandi, it is the "ghosts" of Subras Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army, plus millions of armed and angry Indians that motivated them to leave.
Same with South Africa, the white minority knew it was living on borrowed time, and could no longer keep the boot on the neck of the Bantu population. What they did was inevitable, and there was guerilla warfare going on.
I repeat Daniel, YOU glossed over my word ALONE, as in protests ALONE did not...
Do you honestly think that non violent protests are going to convincce Trump to disband his newly created GESTAPO, and his extra judicial actions, investigations and prosecutions of all of the Democratic officials, ex DOJ and FBI officials that he has target for revenge.
That demonstrations will force him to obey court orders?
Violence between India and Pakistan started in 1947 with Partition. The low estimate for fatalities is about 200,000 while the upper is above 1,000,000.

Takenot of that one Daniel, brutal attacks, the violence inflicted on peaceful marchers. i repeat that peaceful marches ALONE achievenothing.
Remember the Occupy Movement? The Million man march, the Million woman march the day after Trump was inaugurated in 2017.
Unless the powers to be are terrified, and I mean terrified, nothing will happen. and peaceful protests don't terrify them, they are pressure relief valves.
Historical Injustice:
Johnson recognized the long history of disenfranchisement and the need to address the systemic denial of voting rights to African Americans.
Political Calculation:
While driven by a genuine desire to advance civil rights, Johnson also understood that passing the Voting Rights Act would solidify his legacy as a transformative president who championed equality.
The reverse of your proposition. As a matter of fact, northern Republicans supported civil rights. Johnson was late to it.
At Selma violence was by the local government. Civil rights workers killed in Mississippi were killed by local cops. These people didn't pressure Congress.
Malcolm X might have substantiated your position, except he had literally nothing to do with pressuring Congress.

What is the advantage for Joe Rogan to do the right thing? Remember, everything in Dictator Donny's delusional world is about money and power. Playing along with the Epstein gambit being developed by Dictator Donny doesn't rock the boat and allows Joe to play both sides to protect his revenue source. Joe does not want the wrath of Dictator Donny nor to alienate his listeners, so he will play his part in this game of deception.

The market no longer reflects reality—it refracts it.
Fundamentals whisper, but capital commands the megaphone.
Unless you're steering a billion-dollar vessel, you're adrift—
your pension, ETF, or mutual fund caught in currents shaped by hedge funds and sovereign wealth.
Capital governs capitalism. And when power concentrates, the game tilts.
“It’s the system, not the symptoms.”
History shows us: unchecked capitalism often drifts toward autocracy.
Not because people choose it, but because power seeks simplicity.
