When I first read of Noem, about 3 years ago, and heard the stories of her attitudes toward First Nations folk, and her behaviors concerning mostly migrant workers forced to labor during Covid at the meat-packing plants in her state, I labeled her The Black Widow. There are a number of women that a man can justifiably loathe, and she is one. After her braggadocio about assassinating the dog and the goat, proudly, I knew I had not missed the mark. I grew up just south of her state, and the Great Plains, to a degree far above 50 percent, is filled with self-righteous, pseudo-christian rednecks who believe, wholeheartedly and passionately, that they are the blessed children of the angry pseudo-god of ancient lore.
What they actually are, however, are psychic vampires who must prove it to themselves via bloodlust in real time. To be horrified about her behaviors and values is logical. But Do Not CRINGE. Find your true values about how you feel toward all life, test those values against what you see and know and imagine about her kind (a great many in MAGA), and fiercely resolve that YOU WILL NOT YIELD. Know you will feel FEAR, and use this raw energy to find your COURAGE.
Believe me, you have NOTHING TO LOSE that is worth cringing in cowardice. Strength and honor.
