TRUMP LOST. Vote Suppression Won
Trump lost, but they rigged the game, With vote suppression as their claim to fame. Greg shined a light, made the darkness run, In a rigged election where suppression won.
(Verse 1)
They said it was a fair fight, democracy at play,
But behind the curtain, shadows stole the day.
Purged from the rolls, voices erased,
An election twisted, democracy disgraced.
(Pre-Chorus)
But Greg Palast hit the trail, with truth as his guide,
Exposing the schemes they tried to hide.
He followed the ballots, the games they spun,
Proving one clear fact: Trump lost. Suppression won.
(Chorus)
Trump lost, but they rigged the game,
With vote suppression as their claim to fame.
Greg shined a light, made the darkness run,
In a rigged election where suppression won.
(Verse 2)
Georgia was ground zero, where the tricks took flight,
Names erased by the thousands in the dead of night.
Armed with his notebook and a camera in hand,
Greg told the story they tried to ban.
(Pre-Chorus)
With every whistleblower, every smoking gun,
He painted the picture of what they'd done.
From poll closures to challenges, the dirty tricks spun,
Still, the truth stood tall: Trump lost. Suppression won.
(Chorus)
Trump lost, but the system's a mess,
They silenced the people they couldn't oppress.
Palast gave them a voice, told what they'd shun,
In a rigged election where suppression won.
(Bridge)
They feared our power, the votes we cast,
So they rewrote the rules to chain the past.
But Greg fought back, exposed the lies,
For every stolen vote, he made them realize.
(Chorus)
Trump lost, though the deck was stacked,
The truth is a force that can’t be cracked.
With Palast's fire, the fight's just begun,
In the war for justice, suppression won’t run.
(Outro)
Greg Palast, the hero, with courage to spare,
Shining a light where others don’t dare.
Trump may have lost, suppression may’ve won,
But the fight for our rights has only begun.
I'd rather think it was suppression, and not that nearly 40% of adults in the US couldn't be bothered. There's an eventual, long-arc cure for voter suppression, but apathy is terminal.
