You wrote: "now we have a guy — and a shockingly large entourage of lickspittles, brown-nosers, and sycophants — who’re not only destroying our reputation and power around the world but gutting our democracy itself here at home." I am so gut sick about Trump's unconstitutional law-breaking 'antics'--AKA acts of treason TO THE LAW WHICH IS THE BASIS OF OUR FORM OF GOVERNMENT (supposedly) that I have to gird up my metaphorical loins to function some days. I am so sick of HIM that I can hardly catch my breath after reading about the latest way he's dumped another load of unmitigated contempt all over those of us who still believe we have a voice in how we are governed and how our tax dollars are spent. Pick your evil of the day. Today mine is his maniacal threat to annihilate the people (who have existed as a people for well over 2,000 years) of Iran, most of whom have even less than we do to say about what their brain-rotted leadership does in their name. Who is left to stand up for us?

VOTE. I get my ballot early next month. Between now and then I'll be contacting my congressman and senators daily. Takes five minutes for the first email, then if you copy the message and paste it twice, another maybe three minutes. Is your country worth the effort, people? Are your most treasured values worth it?

Trump's cringeworthy tirade at the UN, combined with his self-glorifying campaign ad on Fox "news" is emblematic of the empire that we have become. Far from the values that we purport to uphold, we shout "love me" to the very world that we continually exploit, denigrate, and conduct overt and covert acts of war against. If Trump appears like a lunatic, it is only a reflection of our own foolish conceit as a nation.
