Addendum: The the Great Soviet Encyclopedia hailed Adam Smith as one of their own and the intellectual father of Marx. When I read the reasoning behind it, I was convinced that this was not just another attempt to co-opt capitalism. Look up Adam Smith in the Great Soviet Encyclopedia, had recourse to the edition in Pacific Lutheran University.

As I recall, Adam Smith said that while he was anti mercantilist, the needs of the capitalists were diametrically opposed to the needs of the nation and that they would get control of the government and pass laws in their favour.

You sir seem to be one of the rare few that have actually read Adam Smith, there is an equally small club of those who have actually read Marx, admittedly one needs clothes pins to keep the eye lids from shutting.

I read it for bragging rights and learned a great deal in the process. Have not read Marx.
