As I recall, Adam Smith said that while he was anti mercantilist, the needs of the capitalists were diametrically opposed to the needs of the nation and that they would get control of the government and pass laws in their favour.
You sir seem to be one of the rare few that have actually read Adam Smith, there is an equally small club of those who have actually read Marx, admittedly one needs clothes pins to keep the eye lids from shutting.
