Note to DNC: Stop playing nice-nice with Repugnicans. They hate democracy, are devoid of ethics and integrity, and have fouled the waters in which we all swim with corruption throughout local and national government. When they go low it works, so they then go lower. Decent, respectable Republicans have long since left the Party and have no hope for what remains. Democracy depends on Democrats.

If it wasn't for voter suppression no GOPee candidate would win any elections outside of majority upper middle class white suburbs.

Sorry Ben, you needed to include rural America and the American south (outside of cosmopolitan centers), these are religious conservatives, marginally educted and the base of MAGA.

I just published a book about how education - the pillar that was to uphold democracy - is lost as well as corrupt. Since there will always be people with an agenda against democracy, we must keep this pillar in place as a balance. Yet so few bother to consider education. Check out WhiteChalkCrime.com and help me, a former teacher, get that pillar back in place. I know how we can do this, but I can’t do it alone and certainly not when the voices of democracy totally miss this issue.

Could not agree more. Knowledge is power. It became another of RR's casualties, a primary target of that ol' Powell Memo. Education has become so diluted, I don't recognize it. School districts should be removed from property tax roles and receive equal payment from State general funds.

RR gutted California education, where I grew up, and continued as Prez. We had a little rhyme about him that went like this;

Ronald Reagan took an axe and gave the farmers 40 whacks. When he saw what he had done, he gave the students 41.

Yes knowledge is power and by suppressing teachers they give all the power to the predators. Read my book. You’ll understand it in ways no one has. We can change it once it’s known. That’s why they kept it secret and why I wrote a book.

Clearly a federal government agency to conduct all elections, led by someone of unimpeachable character like Kahn at FTC, would end this nightmare of election fraud, but that's not going to happen. The grease of big money keeps the wheels turning in a corrupted federal government--on both sides of the political aisle. To adequately recognize the actual reality of big money's reign of influence, the words "Greed is Good" should be carved onto the Statute of Liberty. Billionaire money members of recent caste resemble the hapless, feckless winners of a lottery. Massive power handed to a handful of Mencken's "Boobus Americanas" (sic)without even a trace of meagre earned discretion. The structures of the created enterprises that these billionaires now man, separated one by one, could be legally isolated and recognized for their influence and corruption, and could be shunned out of principle.

My hope is that TX will go blue and put an end to the GOP as a national party forever. FL might also flip because of the really bad governance of that governor. Too bad the last hurricane did not stay a 5 the entire time as that would have changed the outcome of that states life. There would be no allowance of building single story housing ever again in that state and a train to go from top to bottom in the middle as planned by Obama. Why oh why did Repubs not want that train? God bless America today and always. PS I know one thing. If Trump somehow wins, he will never take office again.

As being a “Flawridan” Dem, stuck behind enemy lines, I wish with all my heart that FL would flip, but I’m not holding my breath.

I see the following as meaning the end of Rick Scott: about 55% mail in ballot turn-out that suggests that many Republicans will sit this one out.

As well YES on 4 (to cement in the right to an abortion inf the FL Constitution) will bring out a very high percentage of women who are sick and tired of being treated like human incubators for men.

They will vote DEM down ballot which will end Facist loving crook, Scott’s carreer)

I may have to eat crow, but I think I just may be right.

If the NP turn 65-35, we win. Trump underperformed in the primary by 13%. If 2020 Trump voters flip 3% we win. If Gen Z show up in huge numbers, we win.

We have wind and rain. Some voters showed up at wrong locations.

I lived in Fort Worth (aka Cowtown) Texas for 9 years. TX is very unlikely to ever even turn purple. The state religion is something called Evangelicalism - where Sunday schools groom future Republicans, and people calling themselves "pastors" tell their members for which Republican to vote in every election. They claim to be Christians, but their morality seems based entirely on the Old Testament of the Jews which encourages things like stoning sinners and killing the 1st-born of your enemies rather than treating your neighbor as you would be treated and forgiving sinners.

I am old enough to remember female governors in TX. Purple was its tradition and so many outsiders are an increasing amount of its population. This diversity is main hope.

Despite decades of gerrymandering, and voter repression the majority of Americans will vote Harris/Walz. We will win.

That said, the 2.0 Great Lie Assualt on Democracy will commence. Probably 600 challenge to voting results instead of 60. Perhaps, acts of out and out terrorism by the array of knuckle dragging Trump loving militias. Their will be likely threats and intimidation against election officials.

Biden, must be prepared to use his Presidential Executive Action Documents to quell massive upheavel. There can BE NO disenchanfrisement of electors nor any shannanigans to stall the verification.

We can NOT ALLOW the Opus Dei infested SCOTUS to repeat the the act of appointing the Presidency to Trump as they did in Bush v Gore.

Cowards always know deep in their hearts and souls the difference between right and wrong. They just don't believe that they can garner enough respect and appreciation for their unique brand of character from others unless they force their will upon them. Note to them: No one looks down upon you, you just don't understand the meaning of Grace or how to express it. It's almost like while liberals are concerned with when to plant their fall garden, they are suddenly interrupted by someone jumping up and down on their front porch and yelling at them that they are the anti-christ. No. They are not the anti-christ, they just recognize the Grace of God and know how to express it. Make a note conservatives.

THANK YOU sincerely for pointing out the corruption, hypocrisy, and discrimination wherever you find it. I am learning a lot. However, because I don't have the time or resources to "Fact-check" you, I must choose to trust you and your research.

I have a very difficult time not associating "progressives," "liberals," "Socialists" -- mostly Democrats -- with Stalin, Mao, Castro, and all other Communist murderers. Why should I believe that their similar "Ideology" will not repeat the same results?

And you are calling at least some of the Republicans "Fascists." Certainly, Hitler, Mussolini, Putin (there seems to be a lot of overlap) should be considered anathema and are not to be emulated.

I don't like "name-calling:" Just the "Facts" please! As Daniel Moynihan said, "You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts." Please continue to educate me.

Here is the thing Tim. If it walks like, talks like a duck, thenit is a duck.

When your policies and actions are or promote fascism, then you are a fascist.

I was a right wing extremist, I voted for Goldwater in 64, and when he lost I drove around in my Covair with a hand written sign in the rear wind "A Proud Right Wing Extremist". I was even interviewed by a rep of Aryan Nations in 1982.

I also believed the clap trap that Democrats were commies, and worse.

By the time I was 50 I found myself in new circumstances, and realized that I had been victimized by brainwashing and lived in a bubble, and that it is actually the men with money and power that were manipulating me and the media landscape, even text books, And guess what these men with money and power were not Marxists, Democrats, Liberals, Maoists they were libertarians and conservatives.

Having money and/or power, is not a sin: Loving it is! But, with it comes a lot of responsibility. Only God can hold the accountable -- and He will!

I am a conservative Bible-believing Christian: I wouldn't hurt anyone. Although I do confess to looking forward to the day when certain unnamed "deceivers" and murderers, and "abusers of mankind" will be cast into hell -- if they haven't repented. I am an "extremist:" I do everything 110% -- or I don't do it at all! And I don't want to be proud: One of the "Fruit of the Spirit" and Evidence of genuine Christianity is "humility." "No lie is of the Truth." This divides the Light form the darkness.

Who said having money is a sin? I didn't. I don't believe in sin. Sin is actually a name for the Moon god, but it is a man made fiction, just like your god.

As regards the rest of your proselytizing, not interested.

Man creates god in his own image, not vice versa, know the man, know the god, know the god know the man.

The whole business requires circular reasoning not critical thinking.

Why do you believe in the bible?

Answer: it is the word of god.

How do you know it is the word of god?

Because it says so in the bible.

Bible is the word of god because it says so in the bible is the word of god because the bible is the word of god because it says so in the bible is the word of god because it says so in the bible...ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

Just what man or group of men/women predicted specific events -- people, places, actions -- 700 to 1000 years ahead of time AND then FULFILLED those predictions literally, precisely, and completely. Americans are really up against some extreme sadist sociopathic schizophrenics, attempting to coup democracy. They're obviously extremely sick, well funded extremists. I wonder who all the corporate billionaires are, who belong to this occult.

The entire process of using signatures to validate mailed ballots for the elderly and disabled is just another method for excluding votes as most of us get a bit shaky or arthritic as we age which affects our handwriting.

Food for thought: I joined the NPA decades ago to avoid being purged and flooded with contribution requests. Limiting primary votes to party registrants forces a 2-party system. Wish there had been a viable 3rd candidate for POTUS this election, as this time at age 77, I still had to vote for the lesser of 2 evils vs vote FOR a good candidate. When the better of 2 lousy candidates is the one who refused to promise to end military support for genocide if elected as opposed to a pro-Nazi convicted felon who openly colludes with our Russian enemies speaks volumes about how corrupted our democracy has become.

Expand full comment

Tom the only way a viable third party candidate will work,is if we have a parliamentarian system, in which coalitions must be formed, instead of the present winner takes all atrocity that our founders created.

In fact at the creation they did not envision a second party. It was thought that the ruling elite, male property owners of substance and means, would select among themselves candidates, like the early Roman Republic elected Consuls, mean with temporary power dependent on nomination by representatives of the ruling elite (male property owners of substance)

The only model that they had for a government was that of the Roman Republic and power was invested in a consul

T he consuls, were nominated by the Senate and elected by the people in the Comitia Centuriata (.a popular assembly), held office for only a year, and each consul had power of veto over the other's decisions. There were two consuls.

The Republic ended with Julius Caesar.

The whole idea was that the elite of each state (nation as they were considered and actually still are), would have the elite, (property owning wealthy white men) select two senators, who in turn would select consuls (presidential candidates) and then the elite (property owning men of substance, would vote for one o fthem.

Thomas Jefferson was way of real democracy, as he had attended a business meeting in a Baptist Church in Pittsylvania Co. VA and was appalled at the quarrels and even violence he witnessed.

The Federalists, led by John Adams held a monopoly, until Thomas Jefferson found himself forced to create the Democratic-Republican party, and we have been a two party system ever since.

In the election of 1789 and1793 there was only one party, the Federalist, but it really did not have a formal name at that time. John Adams with the backing of New England money and support became the second president of the United States in 1793..

In response Thomas Jefferson formed the Democratic Republican party in 1792, but it was too new to receive any backing and Adams became the third president, he had been George Washington's Vice President.

The election of Thomas Jefferson as third president, was the first quadrennial Presential Election in which there were two parties..

A third, fourth, fifth, etc party can be put together, but political parties are powered by money - the gold standard, he who has the most gold sets the standard.

In our present system, the only role a third party has is to siphon off votes, to enable the other side to win, to date that has been the Libertarian and Green Parties.

According to this, the Libertarian party, which would otherwise vote the business party (

Republican) actually siphoned off votes from Trump https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_presidential_election

While Jill Stein siphoned off votes from Biden.

There is this hope, that the Libertarian party candidate Chase Oliver who is running in all swing states, could siphon off votes from Trump, on the other hand, he could siphon off votes of Never Trumper Republicans who would have otherwise voted for Kamala.

I’m guessing you won’t like this suggestion, which is that the only way to stop this BS, is to retaliate in kind. Some Repug challenges 10K voters? Dem operatives challenge at least 3x that number. The screaming that will ensue will demonstrate the effectiveness of that tactic. No more playing by the rules against those who only play Calvinball.

I learned this at a teaching job years ago, when the head counselor decided to mess with me in a way that also had a detrimental effect on at risk students. It’s a long story, but when I’d finally figured it out and confronted her about it, she sort of freaked…and had a nervous breakdown that afternoon, never to return. My takeaway was this - if someone messes with you for no good reason, deck them (metaphorically speaking), and if they’re dumb enough to get up, keep decking them until they stay down. Time for the Dems to do the same.
