The most important trial in American history should be presented live. It’s absolutely necessary that the American people and the entire world judge for themselves whether democracy will live or die in America.

I know one thing; trial attorneys do not need cameras to grand stand - they do it for a living! I also know that as a defense attorney, I would not want the cameras on my client but that concern is outweighed by the greater good. Finally, all these MAGAT's need to see this trial so that perhaps, they will get out of their delusional, brain-washed state and realize that T is a really bad dude who will F you up in a heartbeat.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, this case is of paramount importance. It's historic, in all kinds of ways, and the ability for the American public to see and hear the case presented in real time has immense value.

On the other hand, the thing that would make broadcast of trial the most beneficial is the testimony, under oath, of the former President. His deceived supporters can only break the spell he has over them by hearing him contradict all the lies he's told them all this time on the stand. The Carroll case showed that the one place to get him to shut his mouth is a court of law. He is likely to invoke the fifth at every turn and his attorneys will encourage it, because he is incapable of speaking without lying. Even the most unimpeachable presentation of mountains of evidence will be waved away by his supporters, a group of apparently over 70M people, and reinforced in their minds as a "deep state" plot if he doesn't testify.

Those of us who already know he's wrong don't need the broadcast as much as those who insist he's done nothing wrong.

Every trial should be recorded---transcripts are very out-dated.

I would prefer to see Trump's trial live, but I'd settle for it being recorded and available on C-SPAN.

If they seriously discuss this, I can't wait to see what side of the argument Trump and his legal team land on. It worked for OJ. Definitely adds to the pressure on the jury, even though they are never shown.

I agree with you on the need to televise the trial. But i have secondary question for you. Should the jurors be able to view the documents he is on trial about? Or should they simply take the word of the government that the papers are and should be secret? If you were a juror in a murder trial and the only real evidence was a video of the murder, would you vote to convict if you could not see the video but instead had to take the word of the prosecution about what was on the tape?

You can bet there will be an orchestrated campaign from Trump humpers to prevent us from having a front row seat to his humiliation and shame. They know what to expect, even if they are still delusional about the 2020 election and denying reality and truth is their way of life (especially in the case of judge Canon). Public support for cameras needs to be overwhelming. Good luck with that.

The Trump humpers believe whatever they want to believe. That is their religion. They were groomed by virtuless adults. They are willfully dishonest, not delusional in my opinion.

Wrong, Thom.

All publicity is good publicity.
