My Econ 102 Professor used Paul Samuelson's text book and was a socialist.
At least I was exposed to two alternative theories. Note the first Econ course was ultra conservative, the Chicago (Milton Friedman's) School
For one thing, they are subsidized. Many are "consultants" to Republican think tanks. I am sorry to report that at ACUS, a federal agency, Scalia dominated, and the money went to his acolytes.
