Very insightful. I'm afraid you're right when you say, "They will be glad to live in a single wide trailer in Appalachia, so long as they are the socially powerful, everyone knows their place in the pecking order and the sexually threatening are eliminated, or subjugated."

But then some only care about the amount of their taxes and fear "free riders." They still hold onto the belief that with hard work and a bit of luck, they can climb the economic ladder and achieve wealth, perhaps even by winning the lottery.

You're correct about the Democrats, too. They underestimate the inclination of the population to vote for policies other than identity. Why isn't Harris doubling down on the issues of healthcare, education, and the vast prison population? Harris should emphasize that the Republicans want to cut Social Security and that the private insurance industry is taking over Medicare.

Harris should emphasize that taking away reproductive rights is only the beginning of the rights and security that the GOP intends to take away the first chance they have. But they're not listening to her. Maybe Harris got through to some when she appeared on Fox.

Again we are in agreement. Harris's campaign staff is setting her agenda, and they are afraid of touching the culture war issues like abortion and prison population. The latter because we know that talking about the prison population is bringing up the race issue and that is bringing up the culture war, which the Democrats are steering clear of as best they can.

The Dems know, that almost 50% of the population, those that vote for Trump, cult or not, are culture warriors, that is his only agenda for the middle and lower class. Kamala will mention women's rights, peripherally, but not go full scale attack.

As regards the "free riders: you mention. I call to mind Alexandar Pelosi's documentary "The Right feeling wronged". After Obama's election she toured the south. The interview I remember is her standing amidst broken furniture and litter , looking up at a toothless redneck in his bib overalls, in Mississippi, on the rickety step in front ofhis single wide. When she asked him why he as so against food stamps, he replied because them lazy coloreds get them, she then said "you get them too", his reply was "that's different I deserve them"

Those people are against "free riders" or welfare, they are against non whites getting government aid, the problem is, that more whites than non whites get government aid, including virtually every red state, which would starve were it not for government aid. Now the ruby red states of Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina are sucking at the same government teat that they say is the enemy.

Go figure, and I have to live with these people, and if Trump wins maybe that live is not too long.
