Daniel and we know the problem with dictators like orban,Kim jong-un, erdogan, Putin, and the wannabe dictator Trump. once they have control of the government and the military there is no such thing as a peaceful transfer of power in the next election. Once in power they or their successor will remain in power until there's a major crisis that unseats them. it took World War II to get rid of Hitler. the people of Ukraine revolded to get rid of a trump-like president that was supported by Putin. Their Orange revolution forced the newly elected president to flee Ukraine to save his life. Putin, having failed a peaceful takeover, invaded Ukraine in an effort to take control of the country by force. Putin had a more favorable result in our country as he helped to elect Donald Trump. Putin knows that Donald Trump won't continue our support of Ukraine. That will open the door for a victory for Putin. Not only does he win Ukraine but he is the victor of the undeclared war against the USA. he is successful here without firing a shot. History has shown that Trump will do anything that Putin asks of him.

Who is the Superman that can save our country's democracy? He's not faster than a speeding bullet or more powerful than a locomotive. He said he was going to run for president to save the soul of the America. He took an oath to protect the Constitution against foreign and domestic terrorists. we are currently in a undeclared war by those that want to take over our country. Their goal is NOT to make America great again, but is to make America like Russia. BIDEN has Presidential Power and the authority to declare the Country is in a State of Emergency. He needs to stop the transition of power until Trump has been tried of all charges, even the ones the Supreme Court said he was immune of. That would mean the results of the 2024 presidential election are null and void. There would have to be another election in 2025 with legitimate candidates to determine the next president of the United States. The Constitution was written to prevent a convicted felon, insurrectionist, traitor, or rapist from holding the highest office in our nation. If we are not a country ruled by laws, then we're not a country. No person should be above the law and then electe to be elected president of our country. If this happens, Democracy will have died in America. Trump wants to be dictator so he can destroy our country'sdemocracy. BIDEN needs to act like a dictator to save our country's democracy!!

I am in complete agreement with your assertions. WHY, based on the facts about Trump that you outline, who is a threat to our constitution and nation, is Biden not declaring a state of emergency? Biden took an oath to protect the Constitution against foreign and domestic powers, so why is he not using it?

I hope Biden's inaction will not result in catastrophic events during Trump's reign in the next four years. I see parallels to the slow reaction by those aware of Biden's decline, which resulted in the farcical nomination of Kamala Harris without the party's preparation to hold a meeting to agree on a nominee. No nominee, however, would have beaten Trump late in the game. If the Nancy Pelosi's of Congress had done their due diligence, Biden would not have been allowed to run again. It was too little, too late.

The presidential scenario reminds me of the catastrophic fires burning in Los Angeles and other places. They are entirely preventable. Santa Ana winds come every year. Burning back growth is the only way to control fires, as they do in Colorado, and no such sustainable activity is reported in California. The effects of climate change have aided the fires, causing undergrowth to grow in ways that contribute to the fire's consumption. Diligence and vigilance can prevent the fires. None of which existed. Turning off power contributed to less access to water, cutting back on the fire department's funds, and hiring created a perfect storm, not unlike our current presidential debacle.

Carol, correct me if I'm wrong, however, I think it was Dr. James Hansen, guest on Lawrence O'Donnell show who would have a serious disagreement with you, regarding the reason for the Los Angeles fire. No amount of 'diligence and vigilance' would have prevented this fire. As I recall Hansen said the major reason for this tragedy was a lack of rain during the winter months. Until now, the winter rainfall was followed by the Santa Ana winds. This year the Los Angeles dry season extended into the winter months. In other words, the dry season overlapped with the Santa Ana winds, creating a firestorm the likes of which had never been seen before. No rain was a by product of climate change that Hansen had predicted as far back as 35 years ago.
