I think he tries to paint a picture -- U.S. Federal Law (ie. Constitution) was a strong, sturdy branch in our "Constitutional Republic tree" of Laws that are the backbone, the heart & soul of our nation.
On Jan 6th, Trump & his goon squad (Igors) cracked that strong, thick branch -- a very loud crack was heard, but the branch held, did not break. It was hoped that in time the branch would heal over the crack & remain strong..if nothing else injured it, it would recover. But majority of SCOTUS -- the predictable bunch of ugly buffoons ((baboons?) got together & jumped hard on that injured branch, still strong, but cracked... until they broke it off & with a deafening noise, it fell to the ground below!
That All-American tree, standing so big & strong for well over a century, withstanding every storm that tried to topple it, has taken a major blow! The buffoons broke a strong & vital branch of of our tree -- no more can we climb it, nor sit on it, finding safety & security in the branches of our beloved tree! Those big, ugly buffoons in black robes chose to break that branch/tree ~ it cannot be fixed as before. The damage is done! We can only hope that it heals over that gaping wound - the branch they broke off - without infection or parasites getting in the tree limb. We must keep a close eye on it, protect it from rot & support it to create fresh growth below the break. It won't recover quickly. But if we want it to ever be the strong All-American tree we enjoyed, we must keep those nasty buffoons from getting near, or in it, ever again! For they will most assuredly do the same again, until they kill the tree & bring that whole tree down, in broken pieces on the ground!!
