As the mass killings have moved to the malls, concerts, churches, movie theaters, and grocery stores, more people know they are not safe anywhere. Now they need to know who their senators and representatives are in their state legislature and in Congress. We could do it tomorrow, not in 20 years.
In the 50's it was A Bomb drills. I remember practicing getting under my desk, covering my head until the windows are blown out, then get up and get ready to go home. I was in Jr High during the Cuban missle crisis and a girl wouldn't buy a Spring Dance ticket from me because we'd all be dead by then. She wouldn't go for my argument that it wouldn't matter if she bought the ticket and died because she would be dead. No wonder I had to take so much acid to straighten myself out...
Maybe help from The Enemy Is Us vote suppressors. Thom mentioned shoot-selves-in-foot stage II, wherein the Texas mail-in saboteurs have managed to confound more of their own voters than Democrats with the micro-printed requirement for something on the outside of the envelope.
