Thom Hartmann also writes four additional separate Substack newsletters. Each has both a free and paid subscription option. Below are links to one free newsletter from each Substack from the past week, plus another Substack newsletters of note that I read and recommend:
I really don’t know how you do it?, probably experience and passion. You’re doing a daily radio show, writing ✍️ this wonderful content plus producing books that requires research, holy moly! Do you ever get chance to enjoy a nice glass of wine and smoke a joint? Maybe that’s when you get your next idea to write about or invite a guest to your show. Thank you 😊 for your efforts to educate us in the progressive movement.
We need a resistance movement that is outside the Democratic Party. They are more likely to be follows, with a few exceptions. I heard Malcom Nash suggest our first act of resistance should be a complete blackout of all network TV for 24hrs starting on the day of the inauguration. Do not turn your TV on! Request the free tickets from your Local Congressperson and Senators, then DO NOT attend or watch TV.
Support the Teamsters in their battle against Jeff Amazon by stopping all ordering from Amazon. Join the picket lines if they are in your area. Prepare for Amazon Case before the US Supreme Court to render the National Labour Relations Board unconstitutional. Case of this nature was heard in 1957, should be “res judicata” but we can’t trust this Supreme Court to do the right thing.
A finding of NLRB unconstitutional would render all collective agreements “ null and void” which should trigger a nation wide strike as it wouldn’t be illegal to strike during the term of a collective agreement, they have no collective agreement and no National Labour Relations Board Board. Hopefully our so called Labour Leadership will be up to the challenge. They should be because they would be out of Business.
We are NOT going to make any changes in this Country unless workers are prepared to reach into the pockets of Billionaires and cause them massive losses. After all what 45% of the US holds are not able to make a $400 emergency expense. What do you have to lose, you’re already dirt poor. The power is with the people, shut down the auto industry, shut down the oil and gas industry, shut down the railroads, shut down the interstate highway system. The Airports would be shut down. Replacement workers would be scabs and subject of massive non violent protests.
I believe several different leaders would emerge across the Country. Expect no help from the Democratic Party or any of the traditional News Media with few exceptions.
This is the American Resistance Movement, I believe we would get the Billionaires attention!
