Voter fraud isn’t real, but, election fraud is very much real and alive & that’s exactly what DeSantis and the Texas GOP are proposing -- right out in the open
Combine yesterday's Report with this one and it's hair on-fire time. This reminds me of the situation where someone goes to the police concerning threatening actions made toward them. But, the authorities determine that person will have to actually be injured before they can stop the perpetrator. The harassment, lack of voting sites and drop boxes, and long trips to and long lines at the polls will have to happen before we can prove the harm.
Common sense and common decency are not available to take your call; leave your number and.....
I also keep coming back to the thought that it's going to have to get worse before it gets better ie the fraud Thom is talking about is setting up for utter fiasco this Nov. But as long as the oligarchs only need to buy off a couple of senators, (pocket change!) it's hard to be hopeful even then. Remember the biggest demonstrations ever against bombing Iraq. The people just don't count.
Today on Thom’s show, I would hear folks mention ways to scare Sinema with threats of not being reelected when Sinema has little interest in being reelected after her initial years in the Senate. She is there to handshake with the billionaires while in office (why do you think she ignores her constituents?) while working her way into more prosperous opportunities in lobbying, etc.
Secondly, I understand that it’s good to try to be positive during these times by saying that our hope of getting voting rights in this country hinges on getting out there in droves and voting ourselves, but even if the results are 80% Dem winning, none of these people who are being put in place are going to recognize those outcomes - plus, I often hear from people who say that they’re tired of hearing that each election is a “life or death” election and wonder if it’s something overblown. I don’t think that, but some do.
Isn’t there a Rethuglican in Florida(?) right now suing after he lost by 60 points in a heavily Dem area?
Have we in the past organized counter election police who engage in telling the truth (with moderately loud megaphones) to those in line, perhaps offering to go with them inside to help if they encounter harassment types of questioning? Even if we haven't, can we do that now? Even at 77, I would volunteer. I just don't have the time (care-giving) or cash to do much organizing (unless I can use my SNAP card, and probably even making a joke about it is illegal). But I would happily pick up a megaphone, or talk one-on-one if megaphones are outlawed (for both sides).

I think I’m just getting edgy, but two things:

It's not really "America" looking the other way. We supposedly have a two party system for just this purpose.
